Well... that was my other son, Jasper. He took time off work to help with haying. My two sons are the only ones who have used that rake. I used to rake a lot with old the rake but this one looks complicated.
The hitch pin is sticking out the bottom to far and is bunching hay up under your tractor, can see it in the video, put a shorter pin with a nut on it.
Some was too far and some too early. We like to cut grass just coming into head. Rain and heat made it the earliest haying year we've ever had. You are right about the protein.
