Thank you for acknowledging that this is WORK! There definitely seems to be an attitude that it’s ✨super easy✨ and everyone should be doing it. People who put the time in and achieve great success should not have that dismissed.
Great info Hannah. Can I ask how you organise your research & information prior to listing to save as much time as possible? Do you do it product by product and list each at the time for instance or do you spend time researching a lot if products before listing? Do you write it all in a document or use a duress sheet etc? Perhaps you could make a video on that side of things. Could you also comment on adapting research if you are selling one off handmade pieces which, obviously, means each & every listing would require more research with no time left to make the things in the first place…
Pre product production I research what types of products I am going to make and once I know I built a competitive product, for the listing optimization + keywords ...I pull the keywords in real time as I am building the listing. With erank I have a list in there sorted of the most valuable keywords that I know I am going to use again. If a launch a similar item that has similar keywords I just duplicate the listing so I do not have to change alll the keywords over again and build it from that template I would try to stay away from 1 off items personally unless you have a really seamless photography studio to launch the thing or you are repurposing the listing once it goes out of stock and can do the photography fast and easy. You can definitely do it just super hard to scale with that model
@@JustME-ft4di That is totally fine, you can still design one off items if that is your model it is just not scalable as it is when you great the same SKU over and over again. I personally do not recommend but I have students that do, do that model. For me it is just not worth it doing the marketing and photo shoots to only sell 1 unit. For instance one of my brands I design sew products together but I only add the stock once the handmade item is finished and ready to sell. But I give it a sku and have the means to make the same item again and again
I think it's easy. Not quick, but yes, very easy. Maybe I'm just saying that cause I'm a quantum optics physicist but my corporate job was more stressful than making PDFs while sahming.
Hi Hannah, do you think free delivery really helps? or should we keep about 50% of product listings as free delivery and the rest as chargeable delivery?
Sometimes a competitive or less expensive price on the front and gets you a higher click through but then sometimes the free shipping does the trick to
@@EcomHannah okay, makes sense. Will test both things out. Our products are all handmade in India and have a unique niche. So we feel providing free delivery in the start doesn’t make sense. Thankyou for your help!
Hi Hannah, What do you think is the metric of good branding? Your suggestions about how to select a designer on Fiverr were really great, I want to know how to measure a successful project, Do you have any suggestions for that? Thanks for taking the time.
Design is such a perceptual based thing but I would really just investigate some of their past work and if they have five star reviews. And show them some of your competition so the get a feel for the niche. Don’t copy but just so they understand the overall vibe :)
@@EcomHannah Thanks a lot Hannah, About Keyword research you are right as well. Most tools show approximate of sales. The general approach is to guess the sales number based on the number of reviews, views, and favorites. You are completely right. It is not accurate. Many listings get a lot of views but not sales and vice versa. We try our best to get the exact number. We track listings on a daily basis and track their sales in real-time so we could report the real sales metrics, not just the estimation.
Unfortunately that is not possible for all listings as more and more sellers begin to hide their daily sales. For those who keep it public you can but unfortunately everyone will eventually be hiding their sales of exact listings that sold. Unless you are hacking and scraping data in a different way there would be now way to pull exact sales data from the etsy public API from sellers who hide daily sales.
I want to sell something that matters, something with a purpose. I don't want to sell overpriced items that people don't need. I am looking for a niche, I guess. I'm not called to jewelry or clothes or home decor... I'm still searching for my role.

For sure I agree!
this is great! Do you do listing renewals on etsy?
I think we have automatic renewel on but if it has not sold in a long time ill renew the listing again sometimes
Hi Hannah, do you think free delivery really helps? or should we keep about 50% of product listings as free delivery and the rest as chargeable delivery?
It’s definitely up to test I would split test two different listings and see which one gets a higher click through rate

Is it possible to save an old listing? (Like revamp it and get it to rank higher) Or should be optimized perfectly the second you list it? Thank you!
I have a video I just made about this exact topic :) and yes there are ways to test and see if you can save it before deeming it dead

How do you know when your listing is “optimized”?
When you do competition analysis and can tell your offer either better value, better marketing, better quality or meet them where they are at
