This is extremely helpful, Luke. Thank you for taking the time to make this. You don’t skimp on detail on your usual vids, but it’s really nice to have a breakdown on simple tricks to get more out of the product - cheers mate!
Great shout on keeping the nozzles on the sealant from clogging! I completely knackered mine and I've been holding off on ordering more until I could figure out how to prevent it from happening again. Cheers!
Im a big KOW player and I’m always impressed by how much these bases come together with the simplest of ease. The scenic sealant you use from your range, is it a different formula glue or a varnish and does it have a gloss or matt effect, looks really awesome!
A very useful video Luke 👍 I did a board a few months ago (only the second one I've ever done) with some base ready and different colours of foam flock and was very pleased with how it turned out. I did find though that the green dye from the foam flock dissolved and ran into other areas when I put on the matt sealant. Is this something that you've found as well, and is there a way round it?
I learned how to base and seal from Luke and I have never looked back since! I spent years do the glue and tap off the excess method for decades until I found out how to use Iso and PVA to seal the basing material.
Luke, this simple yet very useful video shows once again the well of information you have to offer us. I have been watching and learning from your videos since last summer, and for that reason, and this latest awesome upload I have decided to join your patreon. I want to thank you for putting out such extremely informative and entertaining material, and for being such a swell fellow to watch! Also, I am readying to place my 3rd order with your US distributor for more scenic supplies. You rock. love love love!!! 😄
I totally agree of this concept whenever I base my miniatures I will try and build up the base. I wanted to look as if they are standing on a battleground not just a flat base with a bit of texture on it
Great video....I love the results of the different types of terrain. What I think would be a great video is showing how you achieve the same effects on a base with figures e.g. a 6cm x 4.5cm base with 6 28mm figures on it. How do you blend in the figures bases? How do you prevent getting grit, flock and static grass stuck on the figures??? I would really really love to see that. Keep up the great work and videos 😀
On the first tip, even if you don't seal in the pile you don't tap off, leave it there until the glue dries. Try as you will you'll always have more glue on the surface than is required so the extra material on the surface will suck some glue up. This means it'll cure faster but it also means the top surface is sharper. What happens if you tap it off is the material is sitting on glue and sinks into the glue and the glue goes over it so it gets softer in texture when it comes to paint it.
Really awesome tutorial.....Your creativity and skills have come so far since you were out in the back garden spraying black mat paint all over the place.
Cheers Luke , I always wanted to know how to suck eggs , 🙂 Good product , Good upload , just wish youtube was out like 40 years ago ,(when I was building boards ). Keep up the good work , 🐺
the sealant spray is always out of stock lol, but i own 3 (5 on the way) of your base ready range and its such an easy way to get quality bases quickly
The previous sealant nozzles were fantastic and I don’t know what’s different now but I get a wet mud look when sealing my terrain. I’m not using the sealant spray differently but I’m going to look for alternatives as I do not like what it is now. Fantastic base ready range that I’ll keep getting but the sealant spray is now unusable for me.
every time I try and buy that spray its out of stock 😂 one of these days ill actually get a bottle. The base ready stuff is amazing, I've used it on most of my star wars legion stuff 🙃
@@GeekGamingScenics well that’s brilliant, I’ll be sure to get some next time I need some base ready. Your Mediterranean basing is excellent by the way

Great tips, cheers
I only have one question, who is Matt? His products are great!
Made it look so simple, but more importantly, accessible. Those look great and given me food for thought 🤔
old school luke explaning terrain. love it
Incredibly helpful and now my Blood Bowl teams will have incredible bases that will help them look better 🎉 tuffy bases are the best way forward 🎉

Very useful tips - thank you!
Great video! Thanks heaps ☺️
You shouldn't be considered 'guilty' of making a mistake, mistakes are one of the primary methods of learning and discovery.

Fantastic video. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge
Great video. Particularly like the snow as I’m considering a Towton build
Bloody brilliant! Great advice. Thank you!👍👍
Great, easy to follow vid. Thanks for the tip on the sealant spray
Lots of useful info here - thanks for this!
Great video it inspired me to put an order in to try snow. Your spray is out of stock so can you just put watered down pva on or will it look naff
Really great video! Thank you very much!
Your best video ever.

Smashing video as always, though I noticed you didn’t use isopropyl before using the sealant, when is that a necessity?

Simple Video Title Mistakes That You Are GULTY Of.
Great tips though Luke ! Nice one lad
Very nice. I take it the sealant isn't shifting ... 😛
When would you pre-wet a surface with isopropyl alcohol. I’ve see. Some terrain makers use this step.
Im presuming you cant really use the sealant if you have a model on the board
What flock applicator did you use in the video?
i think he has a video dedicated to flock applicators if i'm not mistaken
Sealant spray keeps going out of stock before I'm able to purchase D:
Just create your own :) Matt Mod Podge + few drops of dish soap + water. And then some spray bottle.
Slightly of topic, do you currently run a giveaway? Cause somebody contacted me in your name under another video of yours :)

Is the glue blue? 🤔
it's probably the varnish in it, i assume. it doesn't dry blue, if that's your worry :P
@@GeekGamingScenics wel, I quest it would dry clear. It looked so strange! Never seen it, so I thought it was my phone first! 🤣👍
