Trying not to cry right now, this is the song my Mama sung me after my husband asked her for her blessing... Little did we know less than a month later she would pass away.
Adorable! Liz was quite the songwriting heavyweight in Nashville. She wrote more country songs in the sixties than any other female songwriter. Also, Merle Haggard named his band, the "Stangers" after a song that Liz wrote which was his first top ten hit called, "My Friends Are Gonna Be Strangers"
OMG The Lawrence welk show I used to watch with my grandfather Mr bubbles wow takes me back to a good place I wish I could go back I miss you pop-pop rest in peace🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🌟 I love you 💖💖💖 and I miss you ☹️
No auto tune here. They winged it because they could actually sing. They weren’t concerned about how it sounded because they knew exactly how it would sound…like it always does….natural with no electronic assistance.
Seems like all of Anderson's appearances on the Welk show were all Karaoke performances. I kind of think she was lip syncing the words too. What a shame.
@Paul Gavin Yes ,. if u have more then two beers now they say you're an alcoholic. Lot's of this music was written with a drink in hand for people who drank. It's music for real life Mr. Mariano written by writers who lived it. Johnny Cash said the music nowadays sounds like the guy who wrote it and sung it never dug a ditch. That's why the old country is real country music and the country music of today is shit.
Since you felt the need to bring that up, as only an asshole would, it's fair to point out Lynn battled alcoholism much, much later in life - hardly at this stage. Idiot.
Those were the days, my friend. The Golden Age of Country Music.
If this was a Mothers Day show then I was less than a year old when it aired. Like you, I love the Nashville Sound era of Country Music.
ditto ditto ditto
Thank you Mr. Welk for giving us Lynn Anderson! This was charming!
Those wonderful vocal genetics! They sound so much alike!!!
It’s unheard of for a talented singer to not have one or both parents who were singers as well. It’s all in the genes.
Back when music was great
Priceless😊❤
Fantastic!! I never knew who her mother was, and that she could sing so well. Wonderful!!!
These were days. Remember so well sitting watch Lawrence Welk every Sunday evening . She was so beautiful always wanted to have hair like her,
Trying not to cry right now, this is the song my Mama sung me after my husband asked her for her blessing...

Wow...Lynn Anderson and her mom....hate we can't bring the old days back
So sad she had to go and I miss her because she was a wonderful woman and singer!
2 beautiful talented women that could pass for sisters
You’re right about that! Liz had Lynn when she was quite young so there isn’t a very big age gap between the two

Notice how being young she interrupted Mr. Welk. Being the professional is was he stopped talking. Love Lynn Anderson.
リーンアンダーソンは!若い頃から明るくて、ハキハキした女性ですね。
Lynn Anderson ur a doll and i hope your still singing those old Time country classics amen
She died a few years ago. Maybe she's singing in heaven.
May day
Saudades eterna 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Two very talented woman. R.I .p
about a month before i was born :)
look more like sisters!
“I like to settle down,
But they won’t let me .... “
Not to mention, I am presuming this is the same Mother she sung about in a few of her songs.
When singers could actually sing. Not like all these fakers with machines helping them in the studio.
No auto tune here. They winged it because they could actually sing. They weren’t concerned about how it sounded because they knew exactly how it would sound…like it always does….natural with no electronic assistance.
Green green grass of home tom
Obvious lip sync to record but cute song, Lynn was a looker in her day!
mother LIZ too ~~she was only mid thirties then ~~
If that was lip sync, that pedal steel guy did a great job of syncing too.
I doubt it was lip synced
Tyum

Lynn looks a bit like Shelley Fabares here !
Meredith MacRae from Petticoat Junction as well. Mercy!B.W.
I didn't notice this until you pointed it out, but when I re-watched ... you're right, she looks just like a blonde Shelly Fabares.
This is lip synching no?
Seems like all of Anderson's appearances on the Welk show were all Karaoke performances. I kind of think she was lip syncing the words too. What a shame.
I didn’t catch that. I’ll have to go back and take a look.
Wow..hate to say this her MOM was more beautiful than her......"I beg your pardon I'll never promise you..."
Nah ... Mom's attractive, but Lynn was beautiful x10
We have to remember she was also an alcoholic.
why?
we don't have to remember that at all
No we don’t
