"Object of My Desire" is a song recorded by American group Starpoint from the album Restless. The song was released in 1985 by Elektra Records.
The tune was a major hit for the group, becoming their first single to crack the top ten on the R&B singles chart, reaching number 8,[2] and it also entered the top 40 on the pop charts, peaking at number 25. It also entered the dance charts, peaking at number 12, and number 7 on the Dance "Maxi singles" charts. In United Kingdom, the song reached number 96 on the pop chart.
I love this song, I didn't know Renee Diggs died, she was such a great singer and a beautiful woman, may she rest in peace, God Bless.
Yeah .. back in 2005 multiple sclerosis was her demise.

Renee Diggs....amazing vocals with an overwhelming personality on stage
I was born in 1971. I grew up in NYC, listening to everything. I became a metalhead and later a hardcore kid. Despite my love of harder music, I still get nostalgic for some early 80s hip hop and freestyle (what we disparagingly called "Disco") and the childhood memories it evokes. This is among my favorites. I'm sure it has something to do with listening to it with the first girl that electrified me, but it's a great song in its own right.
To those talking about generation X, we were indeed spoiled. I grew up listening to so much great music. The 70s, 80s, and even the 90s, were amazing. I feel bad for kids listening to the garbage I hear on the radio now.

I remember they came to Boston we use to have what was call " Concerts on the Commons " downtown Boston in the park=commons. Man when they sung this jam...her voice could be heard all the way to charlez street jail. I mean her voice is POWERFUL in real time outside.
These were the good all days good music and female singers kept their clothes on and still look sexy I miss these days.
I recall that a comedian once said that Generation X did nothing significant at all... But I would have to say that that man was completely wrong because if anything "Generation X" had the legendary music that most of the music afterwards is just complete garbage. Mostly music after 2005!!! Primarily 80's and 90's music was mostly legendary!!!
