I loved how you unpacked the limitations that Gospel artists typically have when they perform. As someone who is more lowkey, I prefer the more intimate moments during a show to just sit back and truly enjoy the beautiful music and talent. I appreciate it so much. Please bring your guitar back to Dallas, and we will receive all of it with open arms.

I always say, it's not that people are opposed, they just have not been exposed. Set the stage and atmosphere that you would like to present and that crowd will attend with the right appreciation. I personally enjoy the more slow acoustic moments.

I think that it is more than just about the guitar collaboration with Israel. But I think those raw moments are intimate and requires an authenticity of our emotions. So it may be fear, and an unfamilliarity with that type of intimacy about...like you said about the Greatest.

For the unpack portion: Praise and worship is easy to participate in when you have a relationship with God; I always say it's hard to praise and worship someone you don't know...
Before I got saved it was a struggle to participate for an extended time but after I got saved and grew my relationship with God it's now one of my favorite parts and I am grieved when people cut it off short

To answer Jonathan’s Q, intentionality is conscious, active, thoughtful effort. And effort doesnt always equate to (desired) result, but in itself, when it’s those 3 words above, then it’s intentionality.
And I think UE should become a thing, it IS a huge thing in relationships generally. Very sharp of Jonathan to point that out.
It would be nice to see Britney’s face though, the camera angles have just her side view the entire time.
Thank you guys for a good & entertaining one ❤

I have 2 comments, both in response to the unpack... my sister went to One HalleluYah experience (because that's what it was🙌🏽🙌🏽) before me. She sent some video clips. When I saw Jonathan and Israel sitting on stage with the guitars, I said , "I don't need to see anything else to know that I'm so glad I got tickets. THAT was everything, and I need to be in person for that!" Then.... being in the room when it took place, it was such an aww inspiring moment. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, I was so in tune with hearing what was happening lyrically and vocally that I appreciated how quiet it was in the auditorium so I could fully appreciate it.

The spelling bee had me cracking up! Y'all have some good topics. When it comes to concerts, I think the audience does not want to be a distraction sometimes. Or maybe the seats are too close so they feel they might not get to move as much. Lol ! but Jon you do a great job engaging with your audience. When it comes to relationships, both people need to be present and say what you honestly need to say to each other. I wrote a song about this topic.

That's so true... Minister what is laid in your heart, the way God laid it in your heart. The crowd might not respond to but you know God is ministering to somebody even it's one. After it all, we minister to the audience of One... He's the One that really knows what people need. For me it's important to hear what God wants to minister first... He knows the hearts and needs of the people more. Sometimes we who minister are also in need of what God is doing through us and so we are there to lean in as much as the 'audience'. Loving that approach, it works.

Unpacking: "I often wonder, did yall know how good that was?"
Jonathan, tap in deeper. As an artist you have to innerstand it all 360. You and Israel are jamming on the same frequency making an ethereal moment, in city and city. Not everyone will be in that frequency. Not all created moments on stage are for the audience. And when we tap even deeper, we learned that these moments aren't created for others at all. Because what others seek, will find them regardless. It's your life game, your present moment always, those moments are for you 🌿

I think it takes a level of humility and maturity to come to the conclusion that we as humans deserve death according to the standard of the Holy God who created us. Then when we arrive at the truth of that fact, we must live by it once we believe it. Then we must do as the Word says and in all things give God thanks.

There are times in this walk in worship I only have enough energy to soak in worship, and the shout may be in the form of tears. 😭 . So, a different presentation of gospel music I think would just expand its reach . It can also cultivate a space for people to appreciate in a new way the words, content and the music. I wanted that part of the concert to be longer, tbh.

I remember going into worship, and you stopping to say, "500million thousand changes" also. Lol
The break conversation, in my opinion, is very dependent on the relationship. I think it was a valid question, if they were more on the side of breaking for good or getting back together. Once again, I agreed if she atleast wanted him to be there, even as a friend because if you plan to live life together you should still at least be friends, she should have invited him. My thoughts though.

I'm a woman and I care deeply about birthdays; however, if on a break the least I would expect or give is a Happy Birthday. Giving or receiving a gift is the next stretch, but also not expected. Showing up or expecting the other person to show up is a negative given a break. That's possibly dangerous and/or confusing behavior. I agree with Brunes in respecting the boundaries of the mutual decision of the break. Now on the other hand, show up with a gift in hand if you trying to get her back because that's what that type of energy is going to give.

My opinion , knowing a birthday or holiday falls within “the break” could have been discussed prior to. A clear understanding and mutual agreement to celebrate or not (if you care for that person) should be discussed. The terms and conditions matter when it comes to matters of the heart. Most people expect and they truly care. Many do not. Depends on the person. Clear Communication is key. A simple text would have made me smile vs the next woman may have expected an in person met up… Communicating prior to is displaying intentionality.

I think I agree with Brunes on the break. If you’re on a break I wouldn’t expect anything in order to properly utilize the break. In the event they hung out on her birthday activities could’ve happened that would’ve caused them to forgo the break, thereby not solving this issues that arose. Even if there weren’t any such activities I think it wouldn’t be appropriate because at that point you’ve got two folks that aren’t sure they’re gonna be together… Even sending a birthday message or so would’ve been done with a sore heart. So I say a break is a break…for a reason. Celebrate the birthday after the break 🥳

I was in a situation where we were on a "break" that eventually just turned into a full on break up and during a period where we were kinda tethering between the two, her birthday was coming up and there was a point where we talked and she kinda invited to spend the day with her and it seemed ok at that time but when the day finally came it just didn't feel right to just show up and act like all was well so I guess what I'm trying to say is that in as much as I or she might expect or want something from the other we also need to consider if we are just putting our feelings and expectations before this other person and how they feel about the situation

I wouldn’t expect a birthday gift/surprise if we are on a break, but I also don’t believe in breaks. We done if we break up… 🤷🏾‍♀️ I would probably expect a birthday text at the most.

Respectfully, I don’t understand why you feel that the moment with you and Israel was not appreciated. I was at the Indy show and we were worshiping and people were in tears around me. Question, what is the reaction that will affirm that musically excellent moments are truly appreciated?

To answer the question if we’re on a “break” and birthdays fall in between do I expect him to celebrate me? Also I have to add in what Brittany asked have we agreed we will come back together? I personally wouldn’t expect him to go all out for me as if we were still a couple, but atleast tell me Happy Birthday. If he didn’t it would make me wonder a little but not too much

now let’s discuss this birthday break stuff…. if we are on a break, and my birthday comes and you don’t celebrate my birthday with me or for me or buy me a gift or something somehow someway …that is going to play a factor when it comes time to me making my decision on whether or not we gonna get back to together. if you can’t put your differences aside when it comes to something as significant as a birthday, if we do get back together, or end up getting married and we have a falling out ,how am I to know that you are gonna come through for the important stuff.

If I am dating someone and we go on a break, I don’t expect them to do anything for me. We are on a break. Clearly there is something we are thinking about and trying to celebrate anything together, if we haven’t talked about it, could send mixed signals. There are a lot of factors.
