Thank you for making this video. Thanks for not ruining it with music 👍. I am glad to see you put it down. That wind was way too strong. Better to temper your passion & live another day.
Ahh, my supine memories (from the 70s). That harness and flying supine again are appealing to me. I just wish they'd configure the glider (sweep the control bar back) like in the old days. Way back when you could order your glider for prone or supine flying. Some even had lower front and rear flying wires that were adjustable to allow for either or. Thanks for sharing and showing a truly comfortable way to see what's above your glider...
That's the main reason I don't fly these days...started in 1974 but now, at 74 years, too much neck pain/discomfort flying prone. I'd still be flying if I knew I had enough control for booming thermal days, maybe I'll check this out.
That looks very relaxing.... Might have to knock the dust off an old glider and give that harness a try. To add to H5-Phils comment below... I remember way back in the day there were a few gliders that came with double rigging or extra tang. One of my old Electra Flyer gliders had it. Where is that flying sight? I thought I'd flown just about everywhere. Nice video... thanks

Why did you have to come down so soon? Question certainly like laying flat out like you are instead of the other way around. That must have been awesome. Keep up the good work.

Excellent job In flying In that high wind. Now, in my opinion, since the subject of this video seems to be that harness, I don't think it's as good as it could be. First of all Way too restricting, slow and hard to get in and out of, and dangerous. Way too much drag with the downward angle of the body, which makes the body position like a field plow, pulling a strong force vector down and backward, making it the worst possible position or flight efficiency. It's not as fun to have the legs restricted while flying in a tight harness suit. If you go through that sacrifice, you should make your body lift to accommodate the glider's.lift. The forward prone position body harness is best for getting maximum lift, and efficiency for glider, without a fuselage for the pilot, although neck and back strain is the price there. On any glider design like this, a lifting body hard fuselage for the pilot is of course the ultimate for way less drag, way better lift, more airspeed, less restriction for the pilot, and more maneuverability. But they can be dangerous on T&L, if the fuselage design does not allow quick and easy tuck away and release ability for the landing gear (legs). By the way, that looks like a really nice hang-glider.
I’ve had stomach cancer twice today can’t fly laying down. It a moyes Malibu the slowest glider they do flying at 22mph with my fat arse is hardly going to spoil the aerodynamics that much 😍
@@NickChittyFlying right. Didn't mean to be so critical. I just love aerodynamics. By the way that FVT3 wing model you built is off the hook, really neat. Wouldn't it be crazy to build one big enough to get in and fly. Maybe lying down feet forward or something.
I'm not sure the forward prone position is going to stick around forever just because it's not very ergonomic for looking around. While having your head forwards gives you more control you give up longevity of your own body's structure given enough time (medical massage therapist). I recommend a versatile harness. Why are there not patents for more 360 degree harnesses? Idk, I just got interested in hanggliding yesterday. ua-cam.com/video/jX77JrFM-2k/v-deo.html

Eteyttttt
The wind WAS the music !
"Ruin it" with music - mute most of the volume of the wind noise, because it is just awful, and add a low volume bit of music, not much, just faintly.
Wish this harness could have been available in the good old days when I was flying hang gliders.
Prone harness = pain in neck and shoulders :(
Boy, those annoying letters. Thanks for not putting any music.

H5-Phil , Thank You sur.
My old WW gliders had double tangs for seated or prone harness.
Wow! That supine harness would have been a hit back in the day! Still the only way to fly. Relax and enjoy your flight without neck strain!😀

That is strong wind! Nice one man 👍

Nice video... thanks
well matched - works great looks great
You are not an idiot and thank you for sharing :-)
I would so love to do this.
Moyes Malibu......really great glider!!!!!!!!!
Nice rig!
I love that harness where you go laying down
I never transitioned from seated to prone very well.
I don't know why you called yourself an idiot'. I can only assume that you're a perfectionist and usually do a 'perfect' landing..!!
Beautiful coastal site WOW
Does that harness prevent you from walking/running out your landing? It sort of looks like your legs got caught up on it.
Hi Colin nope this was my first flight with that harness i will post some other videos
As soon as he put his legs in it..i thought same...
good job, thanks.
That thing is sick!!!
Great footage and flying Nick, where abouts is the site please.
Woolacombe, North Devon Uk 🇬🇧
Thats really great. Jealous..
How sweet is that!
wow it looks super comfy

I like it and wish to do it in indonesia, i hope earn the money and buy it first thank for inspirations
Lots of views. Interested to know how come?

Thanks mate I normally fly for about hour. It’s an edited video My bladder needs relieving 😂
don't know why you say ''idiot '' that landing looked good , I think I'd prefer flying prone , you kept it pretty steady though , nice
Maybe flying Into rotor so far back from the face...

Please give me the name. And is it a costume made or original made from manufacturer? I want to buy this setup
custom made mate
How is the roll control flying below the bar?
Lighter as more leverage but it’s a different muscle set so takes couple hours to adjust
LoL profesionál. vertical Atmosferic brake
Looks good to me
Hello!!😉again..
I never had seen anyone flying sitting
4 years now and gone Xc
Confortable ...........👍🎓🔦💨🌷
Very 😍 good for in flight snacks
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
Is there a supine Harness that allows more to lie instead of sit?
Look out for the morph harness
My standard needed 25 mph of wind to soar.
cant tell if this is relaxing or super stressful
I've been in the sport for 44 years and still can't answer that question.☺
Così puoi decollare alla francese con il delta, geniale
It like a superman
Looks like on landing, your feet got tangled in the bottom of the harness.
Onde ?
I noticed that there was no cup holder. Just kidding. Innovative design.
cool!!!
LazyBoy!
Free me ud re ho wahh
Guau está genial
looks like Woolacombe
Mantap
Why'd you land so soon?
do you want 2 hrs of my boating about :)
@@NickChittyFlying Oh good, I'm glad you stayed up. I love coastal air and convergence flights.
Your supine harness looks great for long stints in the air. I usually land due to a sore 65year old neck.
