I'm always so torn between the official videos and live footage. On the one hand, the videos are always so meaningful and accompany the song perfectly ("The Seed" is hard to imagine without the video), on the other hand, Aurora's live performance is so incredibly authentic and enchanting. It's always best to watch both ;-)
I thought the same about The Seed until I saw her live performance from the HAIK Concert. That was one of her most amazing performances ever and so in tone with the song.
As others have said, she is just a true emotional being. No acting on her end, true heartfelt emotion :) She makes my heart feel. Congrats on your second son! I literally thought about naming my daughter aurora if I had another. I ADORE Iceland as well but haven't been there. Aurora is a beautiful phenomenon and a beautiful name, luckily represented by an amazing and talented human being at the moment.
This is her ! She's not an actress. She use to be self conscious about her movements while she sang but she said it was the music moving through her. You should check out her live performance of Teardrop by massive attack it's hands down my favourite

My my, LOve your enthusiasm man! It's such a joy to watch you discovering Aurora and her fantastic art. Boy do you have a lot of fun and joy ahead of you! Her catalog is vast plus there are loads of concerts and interviews too (my own playlists has like 160 Aurora cuts). Also you'll soon see that she makes different versions of many songs, from stripped down acoustic or acapella, to her band, to a fuller band, to a full philharmonic orchestra, plus her live versions are all different from another.

i love how everyone, when they first get to hear and see aurora perform just get quiet, absorbed in her performance. i know i did at first too. she is entrancing. and as you said, super-expressive. for me, the peak of her expressiveness and live performance, is murder song from the nobel peace prize concert. that one will choke you up. all 3 songs from that show are great and beyond that, as i read the other comments here, i agree with them. the Nidarosdomen concert is wonderful in total and it is a beautiful venue and ''it happened quiet' live at the current is a dark and beautiful song. that is just for starters. this is a wonderful rabbit hole to fall down. enjoy

Aurora is so unique .
When she was 6 years old she found an electric piano in the attic after her older sister.
She began playing, and she wrote music without lyrics at the age of 6, and with lyrics at the age of 9.
She’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano.
Her family didn’t know about her talent until she was about 13 - 14 years old.
Two songs I know she wrote at the age of 9 is “Lucky” and “I went too far”, and they are beautiful 🥰
And of course, she wrote “Runaway” when she was 11.

When it comes to her movements, she is a dancer.
Aurora wasn’t that keen to be an artist, but realised that she could help people with her music.
In the beginning she didn’t quite know what to do with her hands/arms, and she thought it looked like she had a seizure or something.
But as she got more comfortable, her hand movements became more gracious.
She just live her songs, you’ll understand when you see her live.
She’s impossible to not love.

She is soooooo much better live which is really saying something all things considered. She’s not an actress this is just her. She is a dancer and painter as well. Along with checking out all of her live stuff she has some incredible live covers…Bowie’s Life On Mars cover is my current fave. But there’s also an amazing documentary that she did called Aurora Once which is available on UA-cam. She’s extraordinary. She always leaves you wanting more. She’s just not from earth. She’s some sort of fairy alien from some mythical music planet and there just aren’t proper words to describe her and what her voice and her face can make you experience. She’s just all emotion all the time and it’s so beautiful.

If you are this excited either music video your mind will be blown when you watch her live. Her live music is simply stunning. She has a lot of great live shows out there with great quality. She has also done a few Covid concerts which I greatly enjoy.

She’s not an actress (yet), but is a born performer! She took contemporary dance classes for several years before becoming a singer. To see her interviewed, she’s introverted speaking, but very humble, blisteringly intelligent with a wonderful quirky sense of humour.
If you want to follow her songs chronologically, but want to see live performances, try her 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert performances of “Runaway”, “Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)” and “Half the World Away” (an Oasis cover). “Helvegen” with Wardruna is a good performance, but it’s not really an Aurora performance, nor is it a true example of what she can do when she has a stage of her own. Your reactions are great, btw!

I would suggest Through the Eyes of a Child from Nidarosdomen (since you will have a baby soon) and Murder Song 54321 from the 2015 Nobel Concert. Do them both with your wife. That would be awesome. And her new album, released Jan. 21st., has some stunning material. You will have to check out Heathens Vevo live and Cure for Me, the Video, very soon. She has a huge catalogue of amazing songs, only 25 years old. It's just amazing how creative and talented she is, there is no one like her. 😊

Aurora was a different child and she had the feeling of not belonging.. She was a loner at an early age and liked to spending time alone in the woods in a small village in 🇳🇴 were she lived. Aurora tells about her childhood in the Haik documentary about her.. I highly recommend you to see that documentary..

Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 25 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, her videos are mini-masterpieces as well.

I'm so happy the world is finally getting to know and be touched by Aurora more and more... We so much need people to get into these inner places where she leads us to. Greetings from Scotland! The "other" unique singer in this world today! Aurora Aksnes was born on the 15th June 1996. Aurora is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer. But she hasn't yet done any acting (at least not seriously!). Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six! *Please, read my last comment on your "Runaway" reaction. It explains a lot!*

Then once you get learn about her, her story of how she became an artist, her upbringing, her personality, her values and then how she chooses to use all of that, it might change your life.
Next you should react to her live performances. Then you get to see her and how she embodies and becomes her music. Aurora is definitely best when live. Perhaps even get back to the start and watch her performance of Runaway at the Nobel Peace Price concert, or, if you would like a new one, start with Murder Song at that same venue.

As far as I know, she choreographs all her dance routines, both in videos and live. She also writes all her lyrics and music and is involved in final production. She has two older sisters, one of which does her unique makeup and another that does her costumes. A rare talents with exceptional focus and range. Not sure what you mean by actress, but this girl gives some of the most dramatic acting I've ever seen. Check out the video versions of "I went too Far, " Murder Song," "The River." If music, art, or modeling don't work out, she couldb easily shift to acting. She is a miracle.

You could try her «Haik» concert. The concert was at the end of the Tv-documentary «Haik». Haik in Norwegian means the same as in english «hitch-hike» (picked up by a car by the road) cause the concept of this Tv-documentary is that the host picks up different Norwegian artists in her car, outside their homes, and drive them through their home city and surprises them with different things along the way (to give something back since the artists have given so much to their fans). At the end of each program the artist is having a concert in a place and setting they dont know in advance. Aurora loves nature, animals, insects and the earth (you’ll discover that along your Aurora journey). so the place they had set up this concert was very fitting since its the forest Aurora had spent a lot of time in growing up. You should also watch the Haik documentary to get to know Aurora a bit more.

Aurora is is amazing on so many levels! When you look up a song by her, I would suggest starting with the music video to hear the original version of the song and be amazed by her beautiful music videos, and THEN check out the live version and be amazed once again with what she does with her songs (and what the songs do with her) when she performs them on stage. OMG you need to do a live performance of her! I totally recommend the Seed a(HAIK concert 2019 forever) and her newer song Blood in the Wine - there's no live version yet, I believe, but still it has some beautiful viking motifs - you would totally love it! Please do more videos of her!
