This is probably the best video on the internet about the importance of taking care of your nails. Also the painting is good too.
You can get quite the bump of coke from that pinkie. Good tutorial though.
One thing i learned from ww2 model builder was to use warm water for the decals. Seems to make everything work better.
Cheers!
Genius, absolute genius. Thank you for posting
I love Tamiya paint!
Great video! :D Can't wait for your tutorial on how to cut nails.
these comments... xD
Thank you. THANK YOU very much for posting this tutorial. Masking has always been a huge problem for me.
great stuff man I learning a lot for tutorial but I have to focus really hard to look past the nails but other than that awesome and thanks
Oh my god, this music brought me back in time
I suppose, from an aesthetic stand point, there is a strong argument that you should probably just follow the panel lines/panels when you do sectioned painting of parts like this. It allows this relatively simple technique, and it allows you to make a whole 'part' that appears to be made out of 'that martial'.
Now i'm sure I'm a totally noob about gunpla thanks for the tutorial
great work man
Nice.. This is good tutorial for me newbie
so helpful..thanks for this..
Love it
When I sit down to enjoy my hobbies, I, too, like to crank some ear-bleeding, shrill EDM.
I was hoping to see how to properly apply TINY water decals that always slide off with the cotton swab when you try to roll out the water, and when you try to move it back into position with a toothpick, it dries before it gets there. Eventually you get it right, but then it falls off when it dries. Apply Mr. Setter in an attempt to make it stick, and it cracks...
great video. I would do coloring first before applying panelines
Jesus, how many of you people are going to cry about his fingernails? You're not the one living with them. Who cares, it's a good tutorial. I didn't even notice his nails until I went to the comments.
I knew it this background song is my favourite this song was for Project Yi my main Champ
what song is it?
Wow really good videos!
I’m so nervous to ruin another one. So I’m going to just stick with panel lining for now. Screw the paint brushing, and try this tape and spray paint technique I just saw.
i love that your news paper is full of crime, murder and child abuse news
Nails are mad!
wow cool~
if the grey is more pale, almost on par with white, then it will be nice as rx 3.0 separation color style.
Hi, do you panel line again after painting ?
why no primer?
Agree to everyone saying about your fingernails...
wtf, i just happened to listen to this song and at the same time i was browsing and found some gundam videos which got me kind of interested as ive never built a gundam kit before, literally the first video i click on to see how people paint or modify gundam kits has the same song playing lmao, what are the chances
I thought this melody was awful tho.
They are called fingernail clippers man! Very easy to use.
Is it fine if I use a marker for majority of the figure? I need help.
The tutorials are great, but the fingernails make it unbearable...
I really want to watch these videos, but I just can't. It is so offputting.
ZylethX3N0 I didn't notice anything till you said something
Your weak
And i thought it was that annoying edm music
Used to split
can u do a tutorial on painting joints. I'm worried the paint would chip veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery easily
Are you able to show this tutorial on smaller pieces like HG grade?
Zekiel Hoang high grade grade??
Mass Chunk that's exactly what I was thinking lol
I believer that it would be pretty hard for you to do so tho... I mean it would be too hard unless you have a lots of experience in these kinda stuff
Where did you get those mg ex-s waterslides?
Ughhhh. Decals scare me tons. In an "it's exciting" and "I hope I don't mess up" kind of way
Water decal especially, I’m a chicken so I transfer my decal by sliding it onto the surface with a cottonwab
Great video!!
One thing though... isn't it better to sand the surface before applying the paint? Or even the base layer?
Christmas Is Awesome sand > primer > paint .. no sand no primer.. straight to the paint and top coat
@@aleemlatif9299 is this also applicable for the innerframe?
savage video
whos leg is that? looks cool.
You did not prime your kit before painting?
PLEASE TELL ME CAN I USE SPARY SAMURAI NOT TAMIYA BRAND
Nice
Is the extra-long pinky nail for taking stickers off the sheets, or just coke?
Mundane05 Both? My man can multitask
Hands looking like mole claws
were the white parts already been painted?
Is it just me or do all gun pla builders on UA-cam have longer nails than most people? I find myself waiting to cut my nails until I finish applying the decals to my Gundam lol
Huge change, that grey combines very well. It is appropiate to top coat your gunpla after using the water decals or before?
Dave Compton usually I top coat first layer, then panel line, then another coat, then decal and final coat.
Wow man that is so professional, I'm a starter right now, getting into more advanced techniques bit by bit. Right now I own a flat (mate or whatever is called) top coat which I am planning to use in a MG. Do you recommend me doing several layers? I am jus trying to give that non-plastic look at the end. If I could only do one which will it be? (Low budget things...)
If you only have flat coat, do it as the absolute last thing. You don't want to panel line or decal on a flat coat because it'll cause issues. One layer of flat at the end should be enough, maybe a second if it doesn't look flat enough to you.
A proper flat top coat as final step is sufficient IMHO
@Tsorovan Zero and @Mugenstylo Thanks for the advice! Double checking before doing it wrong haha @My Phan thanks also for your more professional procedure :)
what kind of masking tape is that?
Does this guy have a PO box, I'm gonna send him a manicure kit. Hopefully he does a tutorial
Does painting using gundam marker good ..?
What is the Tape called?
I know these are decals but how do you apply stickers? Like am I supposed to spray them with something to ensure they last longer?
If you use a Matt coat stickers will probably last.
where can you get the tape?
What tape do you use??
Amazing video! Sir, is it okay to immediately use a spray paint (desired color) directly on the kit? Especially when the parts are attached on the runners? I want to customize my second MG kit, which is 1/100 vidar, but i don't have any experience yet in doing paint custom. Please, i need help. Thank you very much!
I wouldn't spray the Runner becuz it leaves nubs in the old color
Oliver Corbett thanks for the tip. I did it already and it was awesome. :D
1/100 Vidar isn't even a Master Grade lol
@@PineUpAll So? Let the man have fun, its 4 years ago.
I tried masking a few times but it never works out, I either have problems with the stickiness still stuck on plastic or the paint coming off (despite having left it to dry for a good 3 days even to a week...)
I'm really late but it may be of use for someone who stumbles upon this - gently apply the masking tape to something else like yor table to remove that extra stickiness
should resolve both issues at once from my experience
Yo that news paper panel at 4:08 tho
gibt's in dem loch aus dem der gekrochen kommt keine nagelscheren oder was....
dug the music
What RG model is that?
The energy level of the video is at a 4, but the energy level of the music is at like a 9. I think it would make for a better video if the audio and visual energy levels where more in line with each other.
btw, what is masking?(sorry for being so ignorant) is it like leaving space out for painting?
우주미르 yes
Wow, u from Penang?
Why not use a brush? It isn't hard to get smooth paint with overlap, and you don't have to fool with all the tape
wait did he just paint the parts and didnt clear them?
I have a question I just started painting my gunpla and I'm trying to find out if it's necessary 2 Prime before you paint what would be your advice
Yes.yes it is.least for acrylics
@@dumbnstuck sorry I'm very late to respond to this but is it really necessary to topcoat after airbrush painting? Because sadly I don't have topcoat, I have acrylic paint but also have gloss black vallejo primer and normal black primer, I'm still missing the gray and white primer
@@ShadowMonarch9557 a topcoat will really go a long way in keeping it protected. And specially if you do some different things with layering and chipping techniques. I've even had to topcoat before masking over my paint to keep it from getting damaged. You can certainly not top coat it but it will reduce the lifespan of the paint job and make it more likely to get damaged
@@dumbnstuck I understand, I'm just wondering which topcoat should I get because there's different versions, I'm thinking about getting Vallejo glossy or Vallejo metal for metallic but idk which is for that purpose, and there's satin varnish and matt varnish but idk which one is for normal non-shiny paint or not, if Vallejo topcoat isn't good I'd think about getting U.S Art supply clear gloss coat or clear matte coat but it's a bit expensive
@@ShadowMonarch9557 I use generic spray cans for the most part. Search modeling top coat. Down side being it may wear down and yellow quicker than other brands. So I haven't really experimented with too many brands this far. But I only have gloss, semi gloss, and matt. I'd say that pretty much covers it but you can always get what you think you'll need and experiment with them. I even have some brush on top coat.. Which is dangerous be warned. (They will ruin your brushes if your not careful) but it gives you control on what goes where
I didn't know witches did gunpla.
Question for a big problem . I have a problem with Gundam Rx78 Ver 3 the articulations are very fragile and the Arms and Legs if I touch a bit this parts they fall down and I must re attack every time. How can be solved this big problem ?
based on what you ask, you want the joint to be tight? stronger but doesnt defect articulation yes?
try to put a glue on it, a strong one. not like UHU, something that contain cyanoacrylate might do.
basically you want the articulation still in good position yes?
take off the part and glue the loose swivel part, (not the hole where it attached). put a glue on it and be careful.
wait for at least 30 minutes till it dry, then put it back , the joint will be VERY tight, if so sand em with nailcutter thing/sandpaper if you have
if it got really really stuck because of the glue then try moving the joint a little by little till it became not-so-tight
if we're talking abt parts that doesnt affect articulation and it just really like to fell off (like the fist), glue the balljoint on dat fist
no, I dont want block the articulations with glue ! I had an idea to change the plastic parts with magnets like in Jeeg Robot that have alll the magnetic articulations but I dont know the real procedure ...how to do ???
I wouldn't do the magnet thing just yet. For loose joints you can just coat the joint with future floor polish (now called Pledge Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish). Tightens them up while not limiting articulation.
so you dont need to prime?or is it necessary?
Ritz Roldenn Alpajora primer makes the paint adhere more to the surface and reflective index and outcome of the final color but it is not necessary..
Getting some Yoshikage Kira vibes here
what is the color, for the tamiya paint, have you use ?
spckatan Tamiya TS-66 IJN Gray spray (or maybe look at 4:05)
Lol.
All comments on nails

What kind of tape?
www.gundam.my/modelling-tools-sndme-masking-tapes-18-mm-itemid-3625.html there was a link in the info card. But I think tamiya masking tape is good. I recommend the video by scale model workshop called different types of tape.
Hi sir would like to ask for permission to post this on my fb account, this tutorial would help a-lot to my fellow builders.❤️
Im actually gonna be getting my first ever kit here soon, and was wondering what tools I should get or the best outcome?
For not or, sorry for the miss type
Just imagine all of the germs on the fingernail oof
Need nail clippers
There's no commentary on the process
and how long do you keep the water slides in the water ?
Usually less than 5 minutes is enough.
DaekTwentri ok cool thanks
If the water is warm, usually no more than a minute. You'll be able to tell it's ready when you can make it slide around on the backing.
Kay cool that helps :)
20 secs is enough most of the time
interesting vid, but please is there something job related to those nails?
like i've seen more people with said long nails but never got to know why.
freaking nice video..
ive been masking wrong the whole time! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Elliot Lee now im curious about how you do it
What brand is that tape?
Matrix8369 tamiya masking tape
Flex tape.
interesting that he doesn't need to prime it
Ahem2002 yeah is that not necessary or what?
Always think : all that work just for a small detail
Нанесение декалей - яркий пример того, как _НЕ НАДО_ делать...
Nice coke nail XD
Dat cokenail doe
Sorry...down vote just for the nails. Otherwise, very helpful video!
Where's the sanding process?
And who will first paint the line before spraying?
And I must say the gray parts may be good, but the color should be more closer to the white parts. It will make it looks more realistic.
Anyone else peep the coke pinky nail 😤 lol
A fucking hand model!
LOL USES A LEAGUE OF LEGENDS TRACK IVE HEARD THIS SO MANY TIMES I HAVE IT ON MY PLAYLIST HAHAHAHA
