For those of you interested, I did get the figure with similar paint smudging on the legs, however if you use Citadel Paint's color Cadian Fleshtone it matches the figures skin tone very well and can mask those paint splotches. You can find some paint on amazon for less then $10.00
Tank Head is, with the possible exception of Draego-Man, the coolest-looking "new" Classics character I've seen! He deserves his own release--with an appropriately crazy backstory.
Awesome, thank you for the history lesson! I had never seen the pic of the three Roger Sweet creations before. Very cool to see them in all their glory.
Noah Henson watch The Toys That Made Us on Netflix. There’s an amazing He-Man episode! It’s a great history lesson and also they have The Power of Grayskull documentary also!
i've been a fan since MOTU's introduction when i was 3. i thought i knew virtually all MOTU history, but this set was all new to me! i'm 33 and you've blown my mind.
They should've just made three figures. I was very excited about this when I bought it, but pretty disappointed by the final product. It should've been a three pack, but I'd have bought them all separately if necessary.
With how he looks lin the Boba fett type mask an flight gear, could all most put him as one of the Hawkmen from the 1980's Flash Gordon movie with how the pack looks. The Military look is pretty cool as well as the Barbarian look as well, could see this figure with ether look fitting in with the other figures to maybe a few peaces being mixed an match with others to make a different type of character.
I really wish I could find him at big lots. I did pick some that they had but naturally they did not have Vykron. Only 1 Big Lots in the Burlington IA area without driving an hour to an hour and a half. I am crossing my fingures but my luck they probably won't get any. another great review!!! :)
luckily you can still get this guy for around $70 or so (because i got into MOTUC way too late so everything is pretty expensive) I really want to use this guy and all his pieces for custom fodder so one figure with all that different armor is a dream come true
Great review, as always, but it just reaffirms my dislike of this figure. I totally get what Matty is doing with it, and I understand why others are really looking forward to it. It's just not for me. In that regard, I totally agree with Dan when he says "This is what convention exclusives should be". Something that die hards will love, and fans like me can pass without feeling like we're missing out on something vital. Thanks again Dan! Keep up the great work. :)
If you're referring to the original line's Jitsu and Ninjor, they did not have the same head. Ninjor reused a lot of line's basic parts, but his head was an all-new sculpt that only marginally resembled Jitsu's.
With the new Man At Arms coming out, I'm thinking of putting the human mustachioed head on the new MAA body, and putting the Military bits on the original MAA body for a whole new character; all that green. For Vykron himself, the barbarian outfit all the way. MAYBE with that space warrior helmet, just to look like a typical helm. Axe in one hand, blaster rifle in the other. :) Also, Dan, looks like Vykron came out of the package happy to see you! ;P
Hey, Pixel Dan, aside from the placement of the figures in the window box, is there any difference between the SDCC set & the Matty Collector set of these figures? Is one version of the set more desirable for any reasons? Any better? Or are they basically the same?
I understand the theory behind the new title card, but the background completely clashes with the Pixel Dan logo, making it difficult on the eyes to see.
haha, the "Hey Guys!" word bubble. Great addition there. I'm not really impressed with Vykron but I do like the thought behind it. Also, you'd think they'd send Dan a good preview version of the figure so he didnt have to point out those terrible brown smudges. lol. I like the Barbarian and the Tank dude's pretty interesting, but "meh" to the Space gear.
I hope beyond hope they make Ninjor.. i LOVED Ninjor as a kid and seeing Jitsu as a prototype just made me so happy! hell if nothing else i can MAKE Ninjor just customize Jitsu! he already comes with the same Head, Sword, ect.. just give him Skeletor Feet and stuff! i would think our chances of Getting a Ninjor are pretty high since he is just a Reuse of Jitsu.. Just like my Other Favorite Stinkor is a simple reuse of Merman and Mechaneck.. what do you think Pixel Dan? (or other commenters!)
Pause it at 8:46 ....I don't know why, but I feel like I'm looking at Dolph. Put a long blonde mullet hair piece on him, make the hands flesh tone but keep the gauntlets, & change the furry loincloth to a leathery one, and there he is. Maybe this is the reason for the new face/head sculpt? An '87 He-Man, without needing an actor's approval for likeness?
PixelDan, where did you get that shirt from? i need one! i have an original '83 print poster of this framed on my wall, with the same mini-comic tucked into the bottom left corner. this is some of my favorite artwork (MOTU or otherwise). please dude, tell me where to get that shirt! or i'll give you $50 for yours.
Yeah, Vykron's face is obviously reminiscent of the original He-Man's (which is better than the current He-Man face). The current He-Man face is not a favorite of mine at all. I think the Three Horsemen wanted to combine the 200X He-Man sculpt with the vintage look for the current He-Man face. The helmet on Vykron's head is terrible. It's sloppily done.
I like the vikoron or vikor figure how ever you said the name best tho I hate the horned helmet as I have Norse ancestryand knowing it was based on a Viking I hate that the folks of history added horns to the helmets when they were never on any helmet ever found
In 1980, when the original figure was mocked up, it wasn't common knowledge that Vikings didn't wear horned helmets. Congratulations for being internet woke, young millennial.
it is a nice choice for character(s) for sdcc and i don't mind the goofy factor, but i do mind the CHEAP factor - shame shame shame on the 4H, they have lost their touch - this will go down as the moment the 4H jump the shark.
Good review as always Dan. But I'm not impressed with the figure, as far as I'm concerned Vikor and Demo-Man were the only prototypes necessary, but this figure just looks... goofy! I'll pass!
Im all against the classic fad just take a look here to this far fetched character I mean even the face of the He man itself looks to badly sculped or designed I dont know where even start all these figures should have been some how elected by collectors but it looks far off its just making money out of He man shadow
You think this character is too ridiculous? I'm surprised you could tolerate 90% of the other figures in the series. Plus this figure is a convention exclusive, meaning this figure is mainly intended for "die-hard collectors", so I'm not sure where you got that " money grubbing" idea from.
thats because the original concept for the heman toy was to be an action figure for the conan movies, but they geared it more to kids giving it it's own story, simply because conan was a little too graphic and adult themed for kids at the time, it was all that PC-politically correct- bs they worried about back then soo they tooled around with concepts of a story to market the toy, thats how transformers and ninja turtles came into play, though with ninja turtles it was a graphic comic before.
This is factually incorrect. As Dan explains in the video, Mattel designer Roger Sweet created He-Man in three incarnation: a modern soldier, a futuristic astronaut and a savage barbarian. The latter was chosen because of the marketable interest in fantasy at the time (1980/81). He-Man was never intended to be Conan, as a lawsuit from Conan Properties, which was ruled in favor of Mattel, later proved.
For those of you interested, I did get the figure with similar paint smudging on the legs, however if you use Citadel Paint's color Cadian Fleshtone it matches the figures skin tone very well and can mask those paint splotches. You can find some paint on amazon for less then $10.00

The tank one reminds of both a Megaman boss robot and a Mazinger character.
another figure to add to my collection. thanks a mill pixel dan. u deserve mad props.
The hat keeps the aliens from reading his mind.
They should've just made three figures. I was very excited about this when I bought it, but pretty disappointed by the final product. It should've been a three pack, but I'd have bought them all separately if necessary.
The tank headed military man reminds me a LOT of the Super Gobot Destroyer. That would have made for an amusing comparison.
Putting Vykron in barbarian mode helps you build your He-Man corps! Thanks for the review!
It's a shame he died 50 years before Adam was born. Maybe they'll do a ghost, zombie, or some other undead version of this guy in the future? LOL. XD
With how he looks lin the Boba fett type mask an flight gear, could all most put him as one of the Hawkmen from the 1980's Flash Gordon movie with how the pack looks.

Can't wait to see your review of the Masterverse figure. Got mine in today
Vykron as Space Dude is wicked, I like that version.
Great explanation of the back story. Thank you. Now I can really appreciate this figure more. Great review as always!
Great review, as always, but it just reaffirms my dislike of this figure. I totally get what Matty is doing with it, and I understand why others are really looking forward to it. Its a nice idea from Mattel and a nice figure, even with all the problems.
The helmet could be used for a Magneto custom.

UK store Primark has loads of up-to-xxl underoos, boxers, tees and lounge pants - I've ordered my buddies in Scotland to send me a pack of them!
Wow, "ripped Vykron's body in half!?!?" That bio is quite gruesome.
I wonder which costume he was wearing when that happened?
glad i preordered, i think ill either mix and match to make my own armor, or use the military armor
Can the military outfit be put on a standard he-man? Seems like the only piece that might not work would be the gauntlets.
its just me or that tank guy sculpt is gonna somehow be Artilla's face sculpt? anyway great review as always pixel dan!
Hey, Pixel Dan, aside from the placement of the figures in the window box, is there any difference between the SDCC set & the Matty Collector set of these figures? Is one version of the set more desirable for any reasons? Any better? Or are they basically the same?
only 2 if you have the reissue of he-man
Great review and a great idea for a SDCC figure.
I understand the theory behind the new title card, but the background completely clashes with the Pixel Dan logo, making it difficult on the eyes to see.
tbh, i think the tank man armor looks like a nod to the original triclopse figure's armor, least the chestwear in my opinion, but looks good
haha, the "Hey Guys!" word bubble.
These guys seem to have become He Man Man At Arms and Zodac
My only issue is the barbarian chest armor, everthing else fits. I might have to mess with the space belt a little, but not much.
And the helmet that came with the tank man and ripoff boba fett on the original figures head looks both like a goblet/chalice or a hubcap to me
the tank man looks like a warhammer character! cool!
Tank face reminds me of Mazinger Z. Must buy!
I think the guns looks better swapped between the spameman and tang guy.
The Tank armor kinda makes him look like a Transformer.
military man looks like a M.U.S.C.L.E wrestler! SO COOL!
i think ill buy some spare he man's off of ebay to get the other to costumes
the space-armor vest looks like a repaint that would closer match the very early mini-comics for prince adam. just me?
@Mandalorian30 - Have you yet to review the big Griffin beast?
I sort of like these original figures more than all the others
Pause it at 8:46 ....I don't know why, but I feel like I'm looking at Dolph. He-man.
He's the man for the job.
You know, the figure isnt bad. But if there is one awesome thing about this video, its your shirt friend. Where did you get that?
at super 7 you can now buy the figures of 80 years again
i love the military one amazing but i love the concept ones more
I would have to get three of these just for different suits.
Hey Dan,can Vykron parts fit the He-man figure?
As much as this figure cost it looks like they could at least paint it properly.
I'd assume it was a combination of the figure being packed while the paint was still wet with the legs in a squat pose.
@@Tim85-y2q yeah, and it’s easily fixable with some sandpaper or nail polish remover.
i want to see spikor!!!
WE NEED A RAM MAN!!!!!!
Conan,Centurion and Transformers Brawl or Warpath in 1 Awesome figure
Love the Tank-man!
Vykron looks like Conan the Barbarian
Or, does Conan look like Vykron?
A helmet that has no protection value.....:p
The Tank form looks more like a character from Ultimate Muscle aka Kinnikuman lol
I like the military one is cool
Yeah, Vykron's face is obviously reminiscent of the original He-Man's (which is better than the current He-Man face). The current He-Man face is not a favorite of mine at all. I think the Three Horsemen wanted to combine the 200X He-Man sculpt with the vintage look for the current He-Man face. The helmet on Vykron's head is terrible. It's sloppily done.
esto solo nos obliga a tener que comprar 3 figuras para poder mostrarlas con las tres armaduras...
I like the vikoron or vikor figure how ever you said the name best tho I hate the horned helmet as I have Norse ancestryand knowing it was based on a Viking I hate that the folks of history added horns to the helmets when they were never on any helmet ever found

Dan--that is not brown paint ^_^!!
Dan's Vykron doesn't know how to wipe, properly.
It looks to me that this figure will become NA He man and Ice Armor He Man 200x
it is a nice choice for character(s) for sdcc and i don't mind the goofy factor, but i do mind the CHEAP factor - shame shame shame on the 4H, they have lost their touch - this will go down as the moment the 4H jump the shark.
he looks like juggernaut in the movie in space armer
He reminds me of The Rock with that eyebrow....
That isn't paint. He got really scared before getting ripped in half
Good review as always Dan.
But I'm not impressed with the figure, as far as I'm concerned Vikor and Demo-Man were the only prototypes necessary, but this figure just looks... goofy! I'll pass!
only sucky thing about this is I have to get 3 of them.
Tank head rules.
Looks like Vykron had an accident.
i always been a fan of MOTU but this a pass for me
motuc stop motion (A New Era) part 1, 2, 3,4 are here! Check it out!
POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
Vykron or Megaman XD
thirty fifth! jk this is so cool i dont buy these but they look really good should i get them
it's just a nick ! Ill be fine!
Just scratch the paint off.
the only figure that does look better than the old one is the military man the rest just looks crappy
i got it 4 free because i went trick or treating with my dad at mattel
Prototype wondar
Power Extreme! Eme! Eme!.. ;)
He's aroused :) the cloth is sticking out lolol
LMFAO!!!!
vikron hadda boner
i got this 4 free about a month ago and im just a 10 years old
Im all against the classic fad just take a look here to this far fetched character I mean even the face of the He man itself looks to badly sculped or designed I dont know where even start all these figures should have been some how elected by collectors but it looks far off its just making money out of He man shadow
