Why does it kind of sound menacing?

Well, it works at least
The most american kind of toxic wasteland too.

I live in Great Falls MT and we here stories about this growing up. There’s actually enough mineshafts under Butte that it can circle the earth. The whole town is held up by water flooding the shafts. A lot of people have been hospitalized from drinking the water. My sixth grade teacher was born in butte and said he saw it dissolve a barn. It was being carried by a truck.
Have you ever read about the Auditor? There was a feral dog that lived on the grounds for 17 years. It's interesting...
@@jennifergustafson7141 L dogs
A barn was dissolved by water... and carried by a truck? Makes no sense bro
@@johndc2998 yeah no idea what they meant
@@johndc2998 the barn was getting transported to the owners new property, when the truck got in a crash and what remained of the barn rolled downhill into the pit. It floated for about 3 minutes, then the wood started degrading and bubbling.
Now that's someone who values life
I watched a video about this like a year ago and I'm glad this is getting more notoriety. This water is right in the migration path of a ton of birds so this job saves countless birds per year.
Would have been better, if they didn't create this problem in the first place.
@@elale8016 yeah well it's often our burden to atone for the sins of our fathers
This is great for the wildlife. It also means the ecosystem can recover and stabilise.
@@elale8016 There's no way they could have predicted such a thing. Don't be bullheaded.

This is so nice of them! Faith in humanity restored
I wouldn't have my faith restored in humanity so fast considering humans were the people to begin with that polluted the surrounding groundwater. The jurisdiction in charge should cover it up considering it's a danger to any living thing.
Save the borbs!🙏❤️
I bet you comment that every day
@@DatRat696 birbs*
@@CommanderFoxy it’s birds
such kind souls, using whatever they could to save birds
most people are saying how much of a community service this is but when that much birds die its practically saving the ecosystem they still do it out of the kindness of their heart so good work
The fact that they went so out of their way to save these birds restores my faith in humanity
The fact that humans caused this in the first place makes it go back down to negative for me. At least we’re kind of helping but at the same time no ones gonna sit and stare at a lake 24/7 to watch for birds yknow? And imagine how many non-bird organisms are also dying off bc of the copper. Sad.
Edit: they have the speakers tho I wonder if they help much or cause more damage overall
There not going out of there way to do anything they are paid
@@maddiesmenagerie8853... Why TF not just drain the lake.?.
@@PirateJohnson what would they do with the water? Not to mention the lake got filled by natural sources- it would literally just come back anyways.
@@maddiesmenagerie8853, Slowly let it trickle out across a long ditch, and fill the hole. It shouldn't recollect if they fill the hole it leaves. Screw the ground around it, since it's not worth using, AnyWay.
Happy to see a man doing what he loves and is proud of it
Clean it up not target practice
Man I'd be happy doing that too, waking up and making loud noises sounds cool as fuck
That final statement is so powerful.
I bet he chased after pigeons when he grew up. Heck, he's be like : *okay i actually like to scare birds...*
Tom Scott also covered the pit a few years ago. In addition to scaring away birds, they're also treating the water and discharging clean water from it. If they didn't, the water level would get too high and contaminate the surrounding area.
Bro all this footage is stolen from Tom Scott lol

Imagine waking up without an alarm. That sounds genuinely amazing like a low key super power. I have 4 twin bell alarms and timed lights it my room and I still can't get up in the morning.
Update: I bought an electrocuting alarm watch. It works.

They should turn that spot into a public shooting range, you stay up there and the targets are on the other side.
Hello! Person from a certain town that I won’t name about 45 minutes away from butte speaking here! You can actually go through a small tunnel to an overlook and the photos don’t do it justice. The pit is about 1.3 miles across ( and about double that deep without from top to bottom not jsut the water) with gorgeous (and deadly) blue and green water. You can hear the blips going off all day. If you weren’t convinced already to visit it’s also full of history and historical buildings. I’d suggest visiting butte with my whole heart
Been quite some time since I've been to Butte, but it is quite a beautiful place
Bury me softly in this womb
I give this part of me for you
Sand rains down and here I sit
Holding rare flowers in a tomb, in bloom
Down in a hole
And I don't know if I can be saved
See my heart, I decorate it like a grave
You don't understand who they thought
I was supposed to be
Look at me now a man
Who won't let himself be
Down in a hole, feelin' so small
Down in a hole, losin' my soul
I'd like to fly
But my wings have been so denied
Down in a hole
And they've put all the stones in their place
I've eaten the sun so my tongue
Has been burned of the taste
I have been guilty of kicking myself in the teeth
I will speak no more of my feelings beneath
Down in a hole, feelin' so small
Down in a hole, losin' my soul
I'd like to fly
But my wings have been so denied
Bury me softly in this womb (oh I wanna be inside of you)
I give this part of me for you (oh I wanna be inside of you)
Sand rains down and here I sit (oh I wanna be inside of you)
Holding rare flowers in a tomb (oh I wanna be inside)
Down in a hole, feelin' so small
Down in a hole, losin' my soul
Down in a hole, feelin' so small
Down in a hole, out of control
I'd like to fly
But my wings have been so denied
Nice, Toaster. Send me food from Cheddars.
I'm sold. I'm putting it on my bucket list.

it's good to see someone employed to do good things like this 👍
I remember that, it was a very sad day to hear that many geese were dead in one day . We have not seen any geese around for a long long time.

Stuff like this restores my faith in humanity. Keep up the good work! 👍
People who do this I have my upmost respect, people who go out of their way to make sure that animals, however wild they may be, are protected
When someone ask you for an example of "Chaotic Good", show them this video
Awwwww he likes saving birds. This is so wholesome
Sue the company that left the pit like that and use the money to drain it and cover it.
Easier said than done, I'm afraid. As much as I wish the company that did this (ARCO, btw) would pay, I doubt anyone could get enough out of them to actually fix this mess.
I know, right?
This is the most wholesome use for guns and fireworks. I'm glad these people dedicate time and efforts to save the birds 🥺
this is the most wholesome job ive ever heard of
I give a standing ovation to their effort to save those birds.
What a great group of people to keep the birds alive
Never judge a book by it's cover. You'd assume that they intend to harm the birds, but they intend the opposite.

These guys are strong for not letting the intrusive thought of shooting the bird instead takes control
I love birds and I love studying them. Lots of birds are not endangered but because of events like these, they could easily lose a lot of their population.
I support what these guys are doing and wish the world could protect not only birds but all wildlife, to protect both creepy and cute creatures, and keep our home Earth safe in sound.

I wake up every morning without an alarm - man paid to make loud noises every day
"Shoot to kill"
These guys: "shoot to save"
He sounds so proud Of what he does as well ☺️
I live an hours drive from Butte, and I've toured the pits and the mines beneath the city before. When you get close enough, you can smell the heavy metals in the air, but it's a pretty cool experience.
Bro might be happy to rescue birds but bro gotta be excited to use all that stuff
Honestly, knowing that all types of wildlife get accustomed to loud noises over time, this man is probably an incredible marksmen because animals that are used to the bang of a gunshot normally won’t flee unless the round is close. So he is probably threading his shots between multiple birds, at range, regularly without hitting them
In Tom Scott's video, he explained that this is exactly the case. "We find it's not the sound that scares the birds off, so much as the air from the bullet." So yeah, like that's definitely worth bragging about with gun friends.
"I wake up every morning without my alarm cuz I like shooting rifles, playing loud music and watching fireworks"
I hope that they played the song freebird whenever they started shooting the bird cause that song definitely fits the situation
he wakes up everyday without an alarm sign me up
