- A scratched and worn record plate from the Old World - the world as it was before the Canticlysm, and the rising of the tides. It is hard to estimate the plate's age at a glance.
The plate is packed in a burgundy-shade sheet of paper, a sleeve of sorts. Its borders are decorated with nautical-themed motifs and curves.
On the outside, faded golden print letters in the middle of the sleeve note, "A MEMORY OF TIDES". Underneath, in beautiful cursive, is supposedly the author's name, although the writing's colour has been worn away by time to the point of indecipherability.
On the inner side of its dog-eared paper sleeve, there are tenuously-scrawled writings etched in an aged script:

I was once just walking in greathive, tabbed out while afk walking, and then came back and i was somehow standing in front of a table with a phonograph playing this song.

you know when you tab out while holding W you keep walking forward automatically? was doing that. Also there is a phonograph there, it's in a room with a blocked entrance.

Perhaps this was meant to play in the fragments of self that never was. It was said that it was meant to be more fleshed out, memories of your achievements materialising there for one last time.

this makes me sad that deepwoken isn't more lore and exploration focused.. imagine how much more interesting the game would be if it were more about uncovering what was buried, and trying to piece together what happened..?

I would like to know more about what this Canticlysm is, ofc Ik it’s stated basically it’s the period where the tides started rising and the world of Deepwoken is born from it, but I would like to know more honestly
the great drowning
The Canticlysm is a world-shaping event that occurs when the FIRST Celtorian Horror (there are multiple confirmed by Windwalker npc) sinks Celtor. This creates the separation of the Old World and the New World, and, after the Canticlysm the first attunements are formed (Curved Blade of Winds description, stating it was forged shortly after the Canticlysm by the first Galebreathers).
@@catassistant but wasnt the cataclism a counter reaction to the spamming of the song? if the attunements were created after the tides.... how was the song being used?
@@user-lu3oo9rd2k Essentially, the song was being abused by other means, in a similar way we're messing our own planet by overusing it's ressources.
The attunements are usued so sparcely they don't overuse the song, since theres less than 10000 people with attunements in lore (for example, there's very few ironsingers)
Basically the Canticlysm is a time where people discoveres the Song, which led to attunements being discovered, and an overall age of prosperity and treasure came along. However, Drowned Gods stirred in their slumber due to the song, leading to the Celtorian Horror dragging the City of Celtor into Scyphozia, the first layer. After that, more drownings followed, and only a handful of islands are left in the Lumen, and all around it is Voidsea, and below it... Are Depths.

As the waves swallowed everything in its path, humanity was met with a grave reminder.
Just realizing how fucking crazy that one of the arena maps is books of then old world.
I feel like this would really fit kamui instead of void heart music or lord manor music it really depends on what is kamui if it's the broken world of the celestial it would make a lot of sense putting this as the music

I believe To Sleep, Dreaming (the menu song) is a very common motif in the music of Deepwoken. You start to notice it in a lot of songs when you listen for it
