The trip up the hill in the tractor looks like an easy jaunt, but it was slow, rough and slippery and very steep in places. We climbed from about 290.meters above sea level to about 700 meters. And the views from up there over the Canterbury Plains are spectacular.
The drive up the hill must get a bit scary going around the track but you mush have an amazing view. I have learnt lots of things from your videos love woatching them. Amazing work.
Love seeing the lambs doing their "zoomies" at 5o'clock! Happy lambs! The farm is looking great with the new grass growth happening. An old farmer friend of mine always grew poplars that he could trim to provide feed in a drought for his sheep.
Animals love poplar and willow leaves, good for them also. I would love to have a block where we could harvest if needed. I remember a field day I went to at with school near Masterton. They were doing feeding trials with poplar trees.
Love the round bail journey up through the hills . . . amazing that you can service sheep and cattle up there . . . your daughter seems to be enjoying her motor bike. Cheers.
Thanks for this video, always good to see what’s happening. I got my Hoodie end of last week over here across “the ditch”! Thanks for sending. Hoping to book into hill house late Nov as we will be over there tripping around.
I was so hoping you were gonna get to the top of hill and say....ah bugger I forgot me knife.😅 The lambs look like they are growing fast. Do you think the trade will be better this year?
These cold snaps not helping the grass grow and some of the nw have been cold to. After being up that track it gives a appreciation on how far the farm goes back genna will be happy you got the trees planted. Can you stay at the house and pay with home cooking 😂

That was a really good one. Excellent work on the edit of the run up the hill. Georgia looks like she was born on a trail bike.
Thanks mate. She is doing really well.

I think there will be a real battle between meat companies this year to secure stock, could be around 1.2million less lambs around this year.
Excellent video. Does the hill house have any heating? Probably NewZealanders are hardy enough not to need it even when there is snow on the ground
Yep there is a wood fire in there

The snow and frost have slowed the grass again for sure. We could have a deal there, I can eat alot tho. 🤣
🐨👍
Hi Alistair have you ever slid off that track?
No i haven't, and wouldn't want to either.
😂How are the tow and fert paddocks responding or is it a bit cool/early?
They are doing well. I will show in an upcoming video.

He cant drink out of the machine teat, Hes just a bad feeder.
