I never cease to be amazed at the range of skills that you need just to operate your farm! Awesome!
Thanks very much. That is what I'm trying to get out to school kids, that farming is not just shifting animals.
Glad I came across your channel mate.
Thanks for watching..
Sorry about the empty heifers. Did you pin down a reason..Bull maybe.
Ewes look really well, did the fly strike calm down, just about to shear over here(flies are about!)
Thanks. Haven't sorted a reason. Bvd came back negative. Fly has calmed down which is great.
Bonjour Monsieur .. welcome back Sir .. loved watching your video channel documentary lifestyle countryside content and as always beautiful sharing and you doing an excellent great job, respect your hard work, keep it up Sir .. take care and stay safe .. Merci beaucoup Monsieur ..
This is the first of your videos I've watched. Did subscribe.
Thanks very much
Yeah you can also send your sheep to the Alliance they can handle mutton too. Buy yourself shares with the Alliance more stock you supply them more shares they give
you. With having flat land as well sheep will get used to you when you are feeding out and shifting brakes every 2nd day. It is good to have cattle to when you have done the sheep side of things over the spring/ summer with selling the lambs and hoggots.
Running in gumboots, great training for the next Godzone
It's good resistance training
great video love animals ❤👍
Great video Alastair as always 👌
Thanks Mate.
Great Video, I really enjoy the practical day to day stuff, that shows the modern challenges of farming, thanks for sharing
Our pleasure!
Sure have a lot of stock . . . your fall weather looks a lot better than our spring. Cheers.
Our Autumn is generally better than our springs here.
Hi I like your video
Nice video and enjoyed
Weird question but what happens to their cute suits when they go to the meat works? Do they get biffed or sold to leather workers? Do you profit from them if they are sold?
Everything gets used and its all built into the price we receive.
Nice video Alistair. Shame you couldn’t afford to keep the dry heifers but hey as you said “That’s Farming”. You seemed to be a bit flat mate so maybe a jog over a few hills or a spin on the mountain bike to get the energy levels up and the brain in the right space, Mate. Just keep on keeping on 👍
Thanks John. It's been a tough/busy couple of weeks. Definitely need to get into the hills.
Do you take the cows down to the lease block and clean up after ewes??
We have done in the past but we don't have cattle yards down there which is a pain.
Missing your videos these days brother as I was and still i am stuck with hectic work.
Thats no good Ram, hope you are well tho.
@@kiwifarmernz will surely spend time for my brother n his lovely videos
Great vid Alistair you guy's have it easy here in Ireland cattle are registered national database when registered we get a blue passport back (about a week) with name and address of owner, tag number, herd number, dam tag number on it the passport/card it will also have it's records of tb tests on it 12 month annual tb test can't be sold out of test the card goes with a animal when sold, if that heifer missing a tag was mine I couldn't sell her until i ordered and received a new tag with her number and retagged and now cattle have to have a eid tag too. Ah man yeahs don't know how easy yeah's have it.
Wow that's intense. Hope that doesn't come here.
Yeah, you can't afford to keep feeding those heifers over the winter if they're not in calf.
👀🙄🐾👍It Looks like you have been getting the rain how do you find the Canam quad?
Sure have. I love the outlander it's a great bike.
@@kiwifarmernz Ok any issues?
@@KiwiJim13 not really. Just usual r and m
@@kiwifarmernz Ok thank you Alistair
Hi sir how many acres you farming on
We have 625 ha so about 1540 acres
Why do you use so many different Agents and companies to sell your livestock?
Just looking for the best deal, so we are not taking the advice or price from one company.
Your confidence, hard work and abilities with a lovely family are admired. NZ not the country I once knew and loved. The socialists and greens in their madness and stupidity taxing and legislating NZ farmers off the land! This is very sad.
Thanks mate. It is a challenge.
