Fighting tooth and nail to keep control of that Porsche while the JCW GP Mini is stuck to the track like shit to a blanket

I own both a 987.1 Cayman S and a heavily-modified R56 Mini. Both cars are a lot of fun, both cars are very capable. The Mini can do a lot of what the Cayman can do, it just makes the driver work a lot harder to do it.
R56 JCW GP is still such an amazing and extremely capable Hothatch. Just love it

Nah way too hamfisted.. A Cayman is a very easy car to drive quickly without hacking away at the wheel and the throttle.. Plus an aftermarket air filter ruins the sound and adds zero HP.

That's not a mini JCW, it's a GP, completely different animal, and you're holding it up.
Taekwon Crawfish GP also has less weight. Big factor.
GP has bigger brakes. That’s a big factor too.

Love it ! Everyone underestimates my mini too! They don't have a whole lot above 100mph but they take corners at those speeds were everyone else slows to walking pace. She keeps looking over like just give up your gonna loose it on these corners!

I wish I had a girlfriend like that... meanwhile the GP is just out on a Sunday drive. He’s definitely a better driver, smoother too.
Mate....there's no doubting you can drive.....and that your balls are big, but I have to agree with some on here that there seems to be something adrift with the stability of that Cayman.......seems to be fighting you like a bloody 🦁 .
I enjoyed watching though.....I have a Mini s and enjoyed watching that too.

suspect crappy tyres, mismatched sets that were probably turning into paste about half way around the lap. My boxster S on decent PS4S was much more stable than this.

Next time let the Mini (or whatever) pass so the comparison is real. Seems like a lot of muscling going on and most entries seemed a bit early. For those who think the video was fast, listen to the sound of the engine. Agree about tires and the girl friend! Thanks for posting.

I loved the way the GP just maintained speed around the corners.
If it wasn't for the straights that let the Porsche sneak back ahead, I think the GP would have taken it.

a cooper gp reprogrammed it's 280 to 300hp 400nm and it weighs 1200kg, suspension combined original thread, front reinforcement bar rear serie. the porsche is 295cv and 1360kg, 330nm.
@@fredbikers Nope. Good luck finding a 300hp flash only N14 engine, when you find that miracle motor, there's zero chance it'll survive on track. This a 220hp (200whp) mini being held up by a nice car, nothing more.
@@tcclaviger in fairness, with intake, intercooler and better downpipe / cat, a stage 2 mapped N14 mini will do around 270-280 bhp (TBH you can get most of that with just the physical mods alone, as the cat and intercooler strangle the standard car). I think if mini was pulling around 270bhp here it would explain the performance gap at the very top end. Mini will also have a shit-ton more torque than the porsche. That said, I owned a Boxster S and now have a mini JCW (N14 r58) and in terms of the way the power is delivered, i much prefer the N/A smoothness and reviness to the turbo torque.
