Carving transition are a real blast and, because you can keep the power on throughout the carve, so much easier than on a windsurfer. If you want to do aggressive carves (pull some g's, throw lots of spray, etc), it helps to start off with the kite low in the window and keep it there (or downloop it !). Reason: The lower the kite, the less component of vertical lift so less chance of being pulled off your edge. Also, a hint for the timing is to 'follow the kite'. Your kite will tell you when it it time to carve. Another great video! Thanks.
Exactly K Shred, you definitely don't want the kite to get too high during a carve. You'll get lifted, won't be able to edge properly, and will find it hard to carve all the way round.
Hi Alex, I like your videos, they have been very helpful. I'm not sure if this is the place to comment on ideas for new videos. I wonder if you have any advice on how to crash, various crash situations and how to react and recover. Any video that does show crashes ends before they recover. I think crashing is part of progressing but little is out there on how to do this.
This is the basics of wave kitesurfing in a nutshell and so easy to learn, Just found this, I will be using with my wave Kitesurfing coaching clients, brilliant, thank you Alex, well done (again!)
Excellent tutorial as usual. I got the toe to heelside almost instinctively but have always struggled with heel to toeside. Can’t wait until next I get on the water. Thanks heaps 👏👏👏
My question is that in your opinion which is the best action camcorder for surfing. As there are lots of specially designed surfing cameras i would like to hear your opinion which one to pick and choose the best one out. There is this Sony AS200V Cam. GoPros off course, Sony RX0 II , Ricoh WG-50 . And SeaLife DC2000 . These are some really good models out there in the market. Please have a look at them abd advise me accordingly which one you think is the best. I understand that you may not have a fixed opinion on this matter but, whatever advise you give me i will pay heed to it.
So when I finish the turn (heelside to toeside), I just skip off the water downwind until the kite runs out of power or I get slammed on my back. What am I doing wrong? Apparently I'm the only kiteboarder who's ever had this problem because I don't see it in any "common mistakes" list.
Thanks very much Daniel, I think there is a way that I can approve people to add subtitles etc. I will look into it. Feel free to get in touch by email as well kitesurfco@gmail.com all the best, Alex
Hello Eric, it shouldn't be too long new. We had a few delays, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I won't put it out until I have every shot, from the correct angle, etc. Part 2 is mostly about clearing 10m, and how to land it safely.
Hi Robert, we've just covered board offs and other hang-time tricks in our new premium movie, Old School 101. It's $10 on vimeo. vimeo.com/ondemand/oldschool101

I fixed it. For anyone who has the same problem, keep more weight on the back foot.
Thanks !
