2021 Convid Crew Checking in - I just did this mod on my JDM Aristo V300 that had LED Tail Lights fitted from Japan. 100% works a treat! I de soldered one leg of the resistor and pried it up with a screw driver so it's 100% reversible if needed. Great video - easy done!
1998 LS400. Tail light warning failure, false indicator when all lights are operational. Old Lexus mechanic said 99% of tail light warnings are due to a burned bulb or a non-lexus bulb replacement. Sure enough, my mechanic replaced rear deck burned brake light with a generic bulb and dash warning stayed on. Bought a Lexus brake bulb at Lexus which my mechanic installed and surprise! Dash warning light went out, stayed out. For this car install only Lexus bulbs.
What's way over complicated, you can just disconnect or cut the wire off the harness at the sensor or under the steering column, either the wire that powers the sensor or the wire that feeds the lamp on your dash (same as cutting that resistor), if it hasn't changed, green/yellow goes to dash (pin 4) and red/cyan supplies the power to the sensor (pin 8) or you can remove the bulb off your dash.
I was getting annoyed over the warning light, too. I had replaced the rear brake lights and markers also and still had it on. Then, I put a stick to hold my brakes on and saw a third brake bulb out which I had not even noticed because it was on the side. I replaced it with the proper 194 bulb and it went out once the module reset. I assume the module detects wattage draws and would come on if bulbs were incorrect or out. Cool but unneeded feature.

I've got a 2000 ES 300...This sucker used to go on and off. when I popped the trunk..Now its on all the time and found i had a burned out bulb rear driver side..melted the housing..replaced the bulb..it gets hot?..and a bit brighter than the passenger side.?...Now the dash light is back to going on and off..I'd disconnect if i didn't think it was something else.Serious.. I've had it in the shop..They could not locate the problem.UGH..will see.
I bought the harness from Ebay. It uses the factory amp. If you want to use the radio speaker wires then you will need to cut the harness located on the factory amp, located behind the glove box.
That wood steering wheel definitely was put in by you.. Well I'm tryna do the same thing to mine I got the all black steering wheel .. Where'd yu get it from?? And where did yu order those taillights
The steering wheel is from an 01 or 02 RX300 (usually a lot cheaper than a GS woodgrain). Along with the single stage airbag (GS airbag doesn't fit.) The clear LED tail lights I bought from eBay.
its DEFINITELY the 3rd brakelight lol, i have a RX300, And you probably have to use a resistor for the tail light as well since the brake & tail lights are the same bulb lol

If you installed LED lights then it's not the box, the box is doing its job replacing it is just re-inviting the same issue.... However for the turn signal if you can replace the flasher module which i have video for

*MEANWHILE IN 2021...Ummm just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, reconnect, and the ecu will recalibrate itself automatically ON ALL LEVELS* ( yes this works on 98-05 GS300/430 )
Or you can go out and buy the proper led programmed relays that fix the issue just by simply taking out the oem relay and plugging the new one in. I just don't understand the point of cutting up a Lexus and disabling a feature that now makes you manually check something when the new part will tell you the when your led is out.

@K Y its not titled "how to fix your warning light" , its how to disable it. In the end, its your car you can do whatever you want to it. How about you make a video on how to get rid the warning light as you see fit.

I'm so glad you found this pesky ass problem I switched all my lights to leds an didn't know what to do got if fixed now.....lol

Hey curious, where did you get your harness kit for the Screen? Did you have trouble with the wiring and bypassing the factory amp?

Juan Alberto Diaz . Yes it should. the module is lightly different but basically the same circuitry.

I had a much easier fix just cut a small square piece of black electrical tape and cover up the light.
I was thinking of removing the bulb in the dash

Tony Jones it depends on if the box is the problem or not. It could be the wiring, sockets or bulbs.

Nah when you switch from halogen to LED on the 3rd brake light it triggers the warning light even with resistors
