    I just want to THANK YOU🙏for your well explained video! 👏😊 Thank you so much for taking the time to do such an in-depth demonstration along with your explanation. Many of the things I've been trying to learn prior to this video in the field of audio have become so clear now, especially when you began to turn up and down the audio levels. I look forward to seeing more of your videos! 😊

      +Benny B , EV ZLX -15p is the best choice you would ever make . For subs i would recommend the EV ELX118p . This pair of speakers and subs would sound amazing & will easily accommodate a small audience of up to 250 people. . As the technology as evolved over the years , you don't need rest of the gear as the DSP , AMP and active crossover are built into these speakers and subs ( with limited functionality at great price ). IF you are a new DJ , instead of investing in a dedicated DJ desk i would say opt out for something like allen and heath qu-32 or behringer X-32 audio desks . This way you will have a studio and live desk all under one hood. The behringer X-32 is amazing because it has MIDAS mic pre-amps built in. Stay away from other behringer equipment unless you are on budget .
      SO the summary is all you need is the following for what your requirement is and to be future proof.
      1: EV ZLX-15p > two speakers.
      2: EV ELX118p > two bass bins.
      3: Allen and heath QU-32 or Behringer X-32 desks( both are designed for studio and live environments so your are covered.)
      4: Once a master in your profession invest in a DJ desk either by Pioneer or DENON.
      hope this helps in your purchasing and decision making , if any further question then please feel free to ask.

    Great video, straight forward, and simple to follow! If i may question one thing... shouldn't your three amps be stacked according to use.. High freq. on top, mid freq. in middle, and low freq. at the bottom? Or is yours just racked this way due to the depth of the high freq. amplifier. I guess if it was racked at top, you would have problems getting to the terminals on the other two..

    • @AVMEVideos

      HI , thanks for watching the video , amps can be stacked in any order as long they are routed correctly to the destined speakers for required frequencies . I just stacked them this way for demonstration knowledge purpose .

    I have dbx 234 xs crossover , sound craft 16 channel mixer, and 4 subwoofers , 4 mid speakers, 2 high speaker(hf's) and the amps to drive them.
    I cant produce best quality output with by using my active crossover, the crossover has 2 freq knobs one for low freq and other for mid freq, I can not make use to produce best output with that . Can you please make a video to demonistrate this or else any diagrams ?
    Please tell me how to connect 3 way stereo mode using dbx 234xs crossover for my setup.
    Right now I am using the following way without crossover
    1. Mixer L output to Mid speaker amp ch1 and then ch1 output to input of my second amp ch1 which is using for another mid speaker
    2. Mixer R output to Mid speaker amp ch2 and then ch2 output to input of my second amp ch2 which is using for another mid speaker
    From groups section of the mixer
    3. Mixer group1 to sub woofer amp ch1 and then ch1 output to input of my second amp ch1 which is using for another sub woofer
    4. Mixer group2 to sub woofer amp ch2 and then ch2 output to input of my second amp ch2 which is using for another sub woofer
    5. Mixer group3 to hf amp ch1
    6. Mixer group4 to hf amp ch2
    Please correct me If I am doing wrong.. also I hope you will explain how to connect stereo mode with dbx crossover and its front panel functionality.

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  9 років тому

      Peradin Sinaga Thanks for liking the videos. Its called ringing out the microphones with GEQ ( graphics EQ) during sound check by eliminating the frequencies causing the feedback, It is really necessary practice during multiple microphones setup in a live event because during the Event you don't want any feedback etc. Now a days almost all digital desk comes with built in GEQ but if you are using analogue desk then you have to use external GEQ . I will make a video and upload it soon .

      low cut off is a term used to cut off low frequencies ( usually 20Hz to 120Hz) in an audio signal chain usually referred to as HPF ( high pass filter ) not be confused LPF which is for cutting high frequencies ( usually 10kHz to 20kHz ) .

    hopefully, you have everything in mono at the mixer stage otherwise you are just losing mid and high frequncies of the Right channel doing it this way. Two subs to one mid and high seems excessive, but if thats what you need to do keep all program material in mono.

    • @AVMEVideos

      Frequency response of B215XL is 55Hz to 20Khz so it produces all frequencies in that spectrum range so use it as high/mid speaker and use your subs to produce LF. The setup is really simple , just follow steps in this video ua-cam.com/video/35ShkaBQQAI/v-deo.html.

    Good video, so I assume I can only adjust my subwoofer volume through the amplifier?

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  7 років тому

      No if you have three amps you can adjust volume of subs , mids and highs.

    • @Trpmanne
      @Trpmanne 7 років тому

      AVME Videos OK I have 2 full range 3way tops in one amp and 2 subs in the 2nd amp. I was hoping to get individual level control of each on the mixer... I guess I'll need to individually control volume only though the amps themselves not the faders on mixer

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  7 років тому

      Basically both , that is called gain structure . You don't want low , mid , high frequencies to be distorted or clipping. For the sake of the explanation let's say you have just one input of music play back output to main L/R bus via one fader. Put the fader to 0dB , Main L/R to 0dB , crossover to 0dB , output on your amps to 0dB. Now start adjusting the input gain of music playback channel till you see 0dB on the input Signal meter. Now you can control the signal going to the L/R bus via channel Fader ( how much you would like to send).
      If you have multiple inputs , outputs , crossovers and amps then the same formula applies , the amount of signal you want to output to different Mixes. Best way is to practice this during your setup to achieve the optimum sound. Notching a dB here or there on different devices would get you the desired sound.

    I just want to asked one question. What if i set 3 power amplifier for reinforcing each frequensi. Which is 1st amplifer for driving high frequensi. 2nd amp for low and 3rd amp for sub. I mean 1 amp is handling L n R out put from crossover. So high out put ( L&R) is go to input of amp 1.
    Mid frequensi (L &R) connect ti input of the 2nd amp(L&R).
    Then the low/ sub frequensi output from crossover (L&R) connect to input of the 3rd amp (L&R)..thank you

      Dear , How you would like to setup your crossover ? in stereo or 3 way mono mode , I don't have x pro cx2310 to hand for practical demonstration but if you tell me about all the devices in your setup and what its for then I can write a signal design for you for your setup.

      AVME Videos i want to connect my cx2310 xover to stereo. i have 2 active speakers for mid-hi section and crell ca20 for low frequency, 1 unit 231eq and 12ch behringer mixer. i have watched your video but your xover looks a little bit different at back panel. maybe you can give me a diagram on how to connect it and i will try it my self. also please give me the instructions on the gain settings and buttons to turn on at stereo mode...thank you and hope you may help me do the job....God blessed you....

      Okay follow the below signal flow.
      1: L out of Behringer Mixer to CH1 input on 231 EQ.
      2: R out of Behringer Mixer to CH2 input on 231 EQ.
      3: CH1 out of 231 EQ to CH1 inout on cx2310.
      4: CH2 out of 231 EQ to CH2 input on cx2310.
      5: on the back of cx2310 there is a mode button make sure it's pressed and in stereo mode & make sure crossover frequency tab x1 is selected ( not pressed position)
      6: cx2310 CH1 high output to L active high-mid speaker.
      7: cx2310 CH2 high output to R active high-mid speaker.
      8: cx2310 CH1 low output to L CH1 crell ca20 amp to bass bins .
      9: cx2310 CH2 low output to R CH2 crell ca20 amp to bass bins .
      10: On front of cx2310 select crossover point in range of 70 to 100hz , don't go above it as you would get lyrics from bass bins.

    Aye thanks for the video, but I just want to ask if I could parallel from speaker to speaker connecting from crossover, is it possible?

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  7 років тому

      Iosia Pati , yes it's possible. just take a output from ch1 on crossover , connect to amp input ch1 , output to 1st speaker then from 1st speaker to 2bd. make sure ur amp supports the dropped impedance and added watts of 2nd speaker per channel. let me know how it goes.

    hi, thanks for the video, its quite helpful but can i connect a 3way stereo with only 2 full range speakers and 2 subs only, without setting up the third small speaker. maybe using bi-wiring? please explain

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  7 років тому

      3 way stereo is like tri-amping , you would need a 3rd pair of speakers to be used as tweeters & a amp to drive them. Just stick with 2 way stereo option with your full range speakers and 2 subs and you would get good sound.

      Please I have DBX 234XL and I have 2 amp ... 1 for 2 sub woofer .. 1 for 2 full range EV 215 .. How can I connect the high and mid output to amp that operate the full rage ... I am new to this and i do this for my church ..

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  7 років тому

      Mixer L out to CH1 on dbx 234XL. Mixer R out to CH2 on dbx 234xl. On back of dbx 234xl make sure it's on stereo mode and x10 freq switch is off. From dbx High output from CH1 to 1st amp CH1 input then out to L side EV 215. dbx low output from CH1 to 2nd amp CH1 input then out to L side sub.. From dbx High outout from CH2 to 1st amp CH2 input then out to R side EV 215. dbx low output from CH2 to 2nd amp CH2 input then out to R side sub.Then on front of dbx crossover between 70 to 80Hz and adjust the high and low outputs level as required. Let me know how it goes.

    Great Videos!!!
    I would like to incorporate video (with TV, Surround output) in my setup and would love it if you could do a video or input on the best way to do so. Based on my research I would need a AV Processor and another Amp.
    Current equipment: 1 Behringer EP4000, Behringer FBQ3102, Behringer CX3400 all supporting my Numark NS7III DJ controller.

      Great!!
      I ran into 1 issue so far. In order to connect the line out from Receiver to the crossover I had to disconnect my DJ Controller from crossover. Is there any option to not have to do that? Do I need a Crossover with dual Inputs?

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  8 років тому

      The crossover should sit before the amps. So line out from av reciever to dj desk then out from dj desk to crossover then crossover out to amps to speakers.

      Also where in the chain would the EQ reside?

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  8 років тому

      PEQ has to be right after mic pre amp or line level input of a source , GEQ is used for conditioning the room for eliminating feed backs etc so sits just before the amp as 2nd last device in the signal chain of simple L/R setup..

    great video. I just want to ask. if my amps have enough power. can i use 2 amps to split my highs, low mids and lows. by linking my 2 high frequency speakers and using high to channel one of my amp, linking my low mid speakers and using low mid to channel two of my amp, then connecting my low speakers to my second amp to both sides of the crossover as you demonstrated?

    • @AVMEVideos
      @AVMEVideos  8 років тому

      Yes you can , Do daisy chain your Highs to Ch1 on amp 1 then daisy chain your Mids to Ch2 on amp 1. Make sure you calculate the total Rms of your highs is less than your amp 1 RMS wattage on Ch1 and respectively for your mids for Ch2. Also by daisy chaining the resistance will be dropped so the total resistance (Ohms) of two speakers divide by 2 should be supported by your amp.
