About 100 years ago the tuba began to be dropped in favour of the string bass because it was believed that the tuba was not versatile enough. Theon Cross has proved 100 years of jazz history wrong!
Brilliant stuff, great dynamic throughout - and the tuba supplying the bass part rounds the sound out and gives a wider range of possible voicings - love Moses! Especially glad that it's UK because it means some chance of seeing this live!

Nevertheless I think that he could utilize a couple more cymbals say the least, or a 7-piece kit. Maybe it's just me, but I can hear the music calling for more. (shrugs)

Maybe it works better for this set because it's Boiler Room, so most subscribers will listen to drum heavy dance music, might make it more appealing to their ears which can only be a good thing.
