  • Hi. This is board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Cynthia Bailey with my daughter, Misha who was married this year so we're going to talk about how Misha prepared her skin for fantastic photos on her wedding day
They were absolutely gorgeous and the most beautiful bride ever… not that I'm biased.
There's a lot of pressure out there as all the ladies know what I started to do was first a couple months before I got a facial. At that facial, the aesthetician said, “Oh my God. Your pores are so huge. What are you doing? Are you doing anything? I was at my office and I was particularly lazy because I was wedding planning so that kind of got me back on the wagon.
I started using the Clarisonic every day, and at that time, I was using Retin-A also about two or three times a week. So I started doing that kind of more consistently, and I also started just consistently implementing the routine that I know I should do, and that I strive to do regularly now in my life. This the green tea after I washed with the Clarisonic and then actually I used the green tea.
If it's the evening time I use either the Retin-A or glycolic face solution, Dr. Bailey Skincare Face Lotion with Glycolic Acid in the morning. I rinse with water or wash the soap again and use the serum and then this. So, every single day, I was doing that and then, I think it was about two months before the wedding, we did an IPL and a laser. And, about a month before that, I think I've got Botox. We did a test run on the Botox before to make sure we liked how we were placing it.
Then, you got tanked up right before the wedding, maybe a month or so before. And where do you have the Botox done? We can do it here with your crows feet. It’s the only time so far in my life we've done Botox, and it kind of got me hooked.
We've never done your crow's feet. After the Botox we also did a session of IPL and laser which is when you target the little capillaries on the cheeks and ectasias around the nose. She also had a few red, little things, and a few little freckles….
My hope was to also try and like tone down the crow's feet which was starting to freak me out, and that's why we did the laser…
But, then, for months you're actually creating new collagen, and so actually I think your crow's feet are better than they were before. The IPL and laser are two different things, but you can get them done at the same time, and that's what we did. We have in one session. The IPL is like you put on these glasses and these like so you can't see light going to your face that you can see through your bones and it's really weird. That one really hurts. I'm just kind of set the laser doesn't hurt as much in the moment but who that is a kicker so for about a week after, I didn't realize, but I couldn't go to work for a week after. I had to work from home and tell them you really don't want me in the office right now because my face is puffy and oozing so I'm gonna stay home and work at home.
So it's like cracking. It's like getting a massive sunburn, and we're putting coconut oil on it so you're also shiny and cracking. Your red and oozing liquid.
I asked for it, but users be warned. We did that on a Saturday or Sunday. We went in on the weekend and just spent some quality time in the laser suite. So that took about five to six days to heal, and then I hadn't quite planned it all out because I had a dear friend getting married the next weekend so I still had some scabbing for her wedding. I was a bridesmaid in her outdoor wedding in the sun, which you know you’re not supposed to have any sun after these. I had to put massive amounts of sunscreen on and just kind of hide inside as often as possible.
But, they worked out. And, you know after you get an IPL in the laser, each day is dramatically different than the one prior so the first day was like, whoa you know like puffy kind… No dirt. What's the guy the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Oh gargoyle face, and then, everyday kind of goes down dramatically. It got a lot better so believe it or not, by day five or six afterwards, I was a lot better, and you can hardly tell.
Teresa's wedding photos was like in July and your wedding was in September, and your wedding photos were extraordinary in August.
It was great for my wedding and then day off on the wedding day.
I believe I did my normal kind of Clarisonic in the morning with the Naturally Best Bar Soap and then the hydrating serum and green tea because I know that my skin loves those. Then, they put sunscreen on. That went with the whole makeup. Thank you so much. If you found this helpful, we love it when you share it. If you liked it, we love a thumb’s up.
