Ahhh here she is on her guard .. and here is D.A. Knowlton relentlessly pursuing the truth ( "Perhaps you've answered all you care to" ? Such fun !) Lizzie doesnt sound drugged or confused (remember she is supposed to be medicated with morphine ) she sounds sharp , on her toes , defiant as she sidesteps his questions .. she tries hard but it still makes no sense that 2 brutal bloody murders happened around her , above below & behind her, but never in front of her ... Expert production & perfectly chosen music accenting the fun adds to the meat of the proceedings - kudos to Miss Kate Lavender ! 💜🍐
I love eating juicy pears in layers of beautiful clothing in a sweltering, dusty loft without any napkins. I'm light as a feather, that's why there are no footprints. 😂
Exactly! And where are those pear CORES?? The whole story is so crazy I don’t know how those 12 old men on the jury (that all looked like Andrew) found it believable! Ur funny u dainty flower! 🌹💜
The jurors wouldn’t have to ‘believe’’ any of this, this was the inquest, and the defense did not have to ‘put on a case’ at the trial - they just put doubt out there about the prosecution’s case!
It was indefinitely a team effort to pull off this crime for sure emma left knowing she would have been first suspect morse taking note of each rabi on that carriage ride bridgit and Lizzie are the only two in that house bridgit left and suddenly had money to buy a farm interesting
I would imagine this to be 3 to 4 times faster than the actual speed of the testimony, pauses omitted and way more confrontationally toned. These are real people asking and responding to real questions in real time With the political sensibilities of the time. Sigh
In the same small home didn't hear a thing didn't see a thing upstairs downstairs doesn't know anything. I think she knows a lot of things and would have plenty to chirp about if properly motivated. At the very beginning of my ( interview ) with her I wouldn't believe anything that came out of her mouth but by the time I introduced ( certain instruments ) into ( our little chat together ) I would believe everything she said. Once those fingernails start getting ( tugged ) at they usually become very talkative.
The illegitimate son theory was debunked years ago. There wasnt one. Borden was a hugely common name in that area. There was even an Andrew J Borden listed as pall bearer for Andrew's coffin. Source: Fall River Historical Society.
The speed of this reenactment makes this hilarious to me. The trial would have been over in four hours.
Ha! We tried to redo it but we could not recapture the magic of this one. Everyone has changed from the experience but there's still a way to go.
Asking someone the same question over and over in an attempt to trip them up is not a good path to truth.

Ur so awesome! Thanks for sharing ur awesome feedback and being my lucky number one! It's brutal out here.
I would think morphine would make me more honest and confident
Thanks for this! Since she didn't take the stand at her trial, I was really excited to hear her inquest testimony.
My pleasure! Please let me know if you have any questions.

@@lizziebordenaudio lol! Yes, I was thinking the same thing about the cores. What a fiasco!

Right you are! 💜
Lizzie Borden’s Lessons on How to Infuriate an Interrogator - Volume 2!
Oh yes! She was so good at that! 👻💜

You are right my friend! Too many long pauses on a podcast make me nervous. Happy Holidays!
How very sad that this was so hard for you to listen to. Maybe don't listen to things like this?
Good woman, Ms Borden!
Why is the speed so odd!
You can slow it down in the settings with the gear icon to half speed if it's too fast for you. Is that what ur asking?

So lovely to hear from you! Thanks for writing and hope you have a safe and happy holiday.

A lot of people feel that way. I would say around 27% feel that way.
Do yo know how a space bar works?
Hmmm, maybe she killed her stepmother, but maybe Andrew's illegitimate son killed his father, and the both of them knew the full story.
