Many thanks, James. An amusingly puckish and frolicsome version of the tune. Isham Jones's Orchestra made a big hit of it with their 1921 recording but the music was actually composed by Fred Meinken. It even had words, written by Dave Ringle.
On the subject of Isham Jones B.L. Rust wrote "The following by the prolific Chicago songwriter and bandleader are of some interest as hot dance music." "Wabash Blues" was not on the list that followed the caveat. The Wikipedia page on "Wabash Blues" is interesting with regard to the composer. Chapter 15 of "Playing Traditional Jazz" gives good advice.
Great performance. And I like to see that they have so much fun together. Smiling faces. The trombone player is fantastic. I didn't seen him before. Nathan Wolman fabulous as always. Thank you so much dear James! Nice greetings from Germany Dave 👋
Thanks for this, James. They sound fantastic! I will be down Dec 12-17, heading home the 18th. I'm working on my performance calendar. It's looking good, as it always is.
I have to add, Nathan Wolman, just WOW!

Enjoy your trip. If you happen to pass through the Pensacola area let me know. I'll buy you a cup of coffee.
@@JamesSterling I'd certainly call you, but Pensacola is a real stretch for a layover on the way home to NC.
Hello Jim, is the washboard player Dizzy?
Yes indeed.
@@JamesSterling Thanks, she changed a bit.
@@fulopgabor5670 She let her hair down, which is more obvious in other videos. Plus she had gained some weight since she married last year.
@@JamesSterling Thanks for this; I had been wondering.
