Did you have to pay extra to carry on your backpack and luggage?

Thanks for the review. Do you remember if the seat has a power outlet and a USB outlet?

Thank you! I don't recall the seat having either a power outlet or USB outlet. However, I understand future narrow-bodied aircraft may come equipped with these: (vietnamnews.vn/economy/1550121/vietjet-fleet-to-be-equipped-with-upgraded-seats.html#:~:text=Vietjet%20reportedly%20has%20chosen%20options,comfort%2C%20lightness%2C%20and%20durability.)

Oh! Did you apply for yours several years back, or recently (and if so, is there an option to have a physical card collected/mailed to you)? I received mine in the past year but in digital form only.

@@sebastianfoo8926 good to know! I’d love to have a physical card. The app is good but there’s nothing like a card to have in my wallet ready to present to airport staff without fumbling through the apps on my phone (and worse still, worrying about my phone not having power, the app glitching or the phone not turning on!).

If they know that you're Vietnamese (from overseas, they call us "Viet Kieu") and that you can speak and understand Vietnamese, they will try all kinds of intimidation extortion tactics, the most frequent one they use is the fact that in the US, we use First, then Last name, whereas in Vietnam it's the opposite, so they tell you that you have your name backwards and will use intimidation tactics to get you to pay a "fine" or some type of penalty fee. But if you slip them a $20 USD or something, then they'll take you to a special line where the officer there will sometimes straight up ask you to "donate some money so they can get some tea and cigarettes". For all Vietnamese overseas reading this, please NEVER EVER let them know you can speak and understand Vietnamese!!! Because they don't have enough English and it's too much trouble for them so they'll just let you go.
