I love my Albany Park sofa!!!! I'm a real customer and love love love it.
Love you too Arvin and am happy you partnered with such an awesome brand.
Yay!!! So glad to hear and I was also thrilled I got to partner with them to give one of my subbies a sofa 😍🙌🏼
Oh, wow. Thanks for commenting! Which one do you have? Is it a sectional?
@@rmonson5002 You are very welcome and thank you!! I have the Ẹkáàbọ̀ Albany Sofa which is enough for me as one person. I got the blue and orange print and I found it because I was looking for a sofa with a printed fabric, because I just bought a small house built in the 70s and it has wood panelling. I know not everyone likes panelling but there is no escaping the fact that this is a 70s house and so I wanted something that would look good with that style while not feeling like a vintage couch. The Ẹkáàbọ̀ Albany is absolutely everything I wanted - it lights up the living area and makes kind of a tricky style really work.
@@ckburner6317 that's great! Thanks for the response. I'm going to look at that. It makes a huge difference to get a real review from someone. There are so many choices out there that it's hard to decide sometimes. Thanks again!
I'm glad Stephanie got the free sofa, the other ones are fine but hers really needs to go. Would be nice to get follow-ups in a few months to see how people's spaces have evolved after getting advice. I'm totally rooting for them!
Agreed!
Agree!
I was going to say the same! Stephanie deserves a new modern sofa 🥰🙏🏽
I said the same thing. She definitely needed a new sofa.
YES to updates
He honestly needs his own show. He’s so natural.
Yes!!!! 👏🏻 he needs to host a flip show, Arvin you must get connected with Netflix or some original network and do an entire series on this “Arvin Roasts (inset city) “ and like do a different city every episode or something whatever, it would be so fun to watch. I bet if you walked into like 50% of random homes you could roast them lol you can roast my house. Just kidding, my decorator did pretty well I think, with what she had to work with. 🤣
He does a good job of being critical while not being a bully.
I was gonna say, if the winner wasn't Stephanie the winner needed to be Stephanie. All the names in the vessel should have been Stephanie.
Lol! 💯💯
I'm so glad Stephanie is getting the sofa today. She was needing an assist and you really came through! All of your suggestions were awesome. Fun video!
“The color palette, makes me wanna vomit” LMAOOOOO 😂😂😂
Arvin! What a great idea about replacing the black rock with the wooden slats! It would soften the entire environment and be so pretty! Thank you for roasting my fugly living room! 😍😍
I think it would look awesome too!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
@Kate Paulson Salenfriend. The rock wall is great if a little dark. It’s a feature! You could paint it cream and paint the chimney jet black. It would look amazing.
Will probably start with painting it white and see how we can live with that first before we make the extreme decision of blowing out the fake rock!
But I absolutely love the idea of doing a fluted wall back there as it really lends itself toward the style of the house and the time. It was built- Such a great idea!
the black stone wall is awesome what a statement stand alone . piece!... what needs to be moved are those posters and tv, I would add some hanging plants, and some brass pieces.. and be conservative on the tv and enterainment console that sits on fireplace landing
!!!YAY!!! I LOVE that someone is getting a new sofa!!! So great, Arvin!!! 🙏❤️🛋
I’m sorry I would’ve cheated and wrote STEPHANIE on ALLLLLL the papers 🤣🤣🤣 She needed it the MOST!
I had the same thought
@@Jordan-cm4tg 🤣😩 Like seriously, I’m so happy she won 🏆
I would have too 😂
I love the last home you mention with that coal black wall. I would paint it a cream or light gray and do wood floors in there if removing the stonework is not an option. There are so many options for decorating that wall after it is painted a lighter shade, including a fireplace instead of the old stove.
Agreed!!! I actually thought it gave the home some character hehe
such great ideas from Arvin as well as in the comments! So glad the carpet exit date is coming soon!
That charcoal wall could be sooo interesting -- home buyers these days pay more for that sort of midcentury modern feature, however this one can easily be painted to soften the effect. I would make the TV the centrepiece on this wall, as the rocks would be an awesome feature backdrop for the TV (wall-mounted). The white buffets Kate has already are just perfect as the starting point for decor for this room. So... I suggest the TV goes over a totally modernist built-in fireplace in white or a lighter natural colour with a glass front, (heat would not affect the TV if it's a proper fireplace)flanked by white console media units that go with the style of the buffet units will transform this wall. The brown speakers could stay, but if the wall stays dark, no dark brown or dark furniture on this side of the room. Lamps on the entertainment units will definitely show off the wall texture to fabulous effect. A midcentury coffee table would link the 2 opposite sides of the room together (rock wall to sofa opposite) and to the existing buffet units
Exactly my thoughts! ❤️
@@katepaulsonsalenfriend8617 I know you are excited to get to work on it. Are there hardwood floors underneath?
"Nobody asked" but, this was the Best give away I have ever seen. You rock Arvin! Love the suggestions and links.
Challenge Video: Could you do a video in which you recreate a space using all their old stuff, some of which may be nice stuff, but a lot off it you dislike/hate? A reasonable but limited budget for new purchases. It sounds a little television in the 1990s, but it would make for a fun video!
Thank you for this video!
OOooh, THAT would be next level!
I love your dancing & your laugh. ❤️ I love your style in fashion & decor. So happy for the winner of the sofa. Her room looks like everything was just shoved in there. The sofa will b a great start & inspiration. Soft colors! Have fun. Good advice for all the participants Arvin. Love your giggle. 🥰
I'm soo happy that Stephanie won... I feel that her space quite possibly needed the most help, so what a fantastic start for her! You're truly amazing Arvin ❤❤🥰
Omg. We just got a doll house for my daughter from my neighbor, and they have a lot of diy projects in it that we are going to redo to make our own. One thing they made was a "gather" sign, and I laughed so much. Would that be accumulate? Their dolls. Haha! It also says "be still" and I mean, they are dolls, so, yeah. Now when I see a gathering sign I think of that.
When it comes to color, it always helps to find your main color and then add variations of it. Like the cobalt, but then also a muted lighter blue and dark blue, and then also a complimentary color on the color wheel, like golds or ochre.
Kate: an inexpensive way to change your fireplace is to white wash them you can paint the brick a different color. If you want to pull up the carpet you can put down lament hard floors it’s very cost effective and easy to clean, it will open up your space.
Always enjoy your roasts as well as advice . Your suggestions help me fix my mistakes or find ways to make them less offensive. The budget is super tight since job lay off.
Thanks for lifting my spirits, giving me creative ideas and adding sunshine to my day.
Arvin, you should do the BEFORE & AFTER of the homes you ROASTED, 🤣🤣🤣, It will be awesome !!!
Please keep doing these!! I learn so much from them! Also Stephanie has BEAUTIFUL tall ceilings and windows so jelly!!!
Arvin, you are a gift! This video series is so fun & useful to watch cause these homes look like our homes - not IG perfect, lived in and kinda messy - but it’s reassuring to know we can make small changes to get to an aesthetic we love! THANK YOU
Kate’s space was my favorite, definitely redo that charcoal wall, love her current sofa, congrats Steph on the Albany Park sofa!
I’m about 100% sure that Stephanie’s name was the only one in that bowl but I am 100% fine with that. She needed it the most.
Your energy and giggle makes my day ❤
As always, watching your new video makes my day! You are sooooo fun and inspiring! In particular, watching other people's pics and getting your feedback is really helpful as I am decorating my UK home (albeit much smaller than the US ones). Thanks for sharing so much energy and love!
Oh man, if you saw my house lmao…looks like gypsies with a taste in old jewish heirlooms meshed with pine walls and taxidermy here. (My husband is a backwoods man and I’m a bohemian teapot collector)
I was hoping Stephanie got the sofa and... wow! she did! (Wink, wink.) I'm onto you, Mr. nice guy.
I have turquoise and cobalt blue accents in my family room. My couch is a massive brown sectional. I also have 8 and 3 year old daughters who are gymnasts and competitive cheer girls so I wouldn't dare buy new furniture. I just buy pillow covers from Amazon and change them seasonally. I also love in Florida so the blues just work in a way that's no overwhelming or outdated.
Love that last room. I'd definitely want to see what's under that carpet because that would be the first thing I got rid off. Then that wall either removed or painted. I would keep the furniture but rearrange it. I wouldn't remove that small wall because then it would open up the entryway where it looks like the front door is.
Congratulations Stephanie!!
I know it's an old video, but just seeing this now. I would maybe leave the stone wall and just paint it and accessorize, and spend the budget on semi-open wood slat to add privacy between the front door/foyer and living room where the wall is now. The stone and wood would look great in the space. And the slat would give some privacy while still opening it up.
I recently bought the Albany Park sofa in olive green velvet and the Boucle chairs. Love this company!!!!!
You always have such great suggestions. I especially agree with you about replacing all that cobalt blue - just looks outdated. And those Albany Park sofas are so nice!!
The best thing in Kelly's space is the pupper... Really brings the room together.
honestly, i love that black rock wall. they don't have the rest of the room playing nicely with it....but that doesn't mean it is not still pretty cool...
I love the direction you’re going with by getting in touch with your viewers a d subscribers and they get to take advice from you . This will attract many viewers . It gives me a tv show vibes .
YES with these series!!! It's so nice that you offer alternatives every time!! Love how you help out a lot of your subscribers!
I would love to see more of Kate's house. It must be so cool. I would love to see it decorated in Mid-Century Modern/Scandi but that's my style LOL. That was so fun Arvid and I am glad Stephanie won the sofa!
Kate’s was my fav too!!!
Ahhh I love these videos!!
It's Emma!
How sweet of Albany Park! Congrats to the winner!!
I have used many of Arvin's tips. Everyone says my space is Cozy and relaxing. ☺️ Don't be afraid to play with patterns/colors y'all!
Love these type of videos, can’t wait for the next one 🤩🤗
The first roast I think start with a rug. Then window coverings. Ask what style. Then build with the sofa, the coffee table lamps etc.
I'm not a fashion person but I like to try to make things presentable. I don't entertain and nobody ever comes over, including my family so my decorating is for myself. I don't know how I got to this channel but I have to say......I can't get enough of Arvin. Arvin is so fun! I would love to just hang out. LOL
love this so much!!!!! You are fun and funny but also respectful! well done!
LOLLL at the stock video of a couple looking at a phone smiling 😂
Arvin, you are not roasting us, you are offering good advice. You are so sweet. Love you.
What a great show Alvin - entertaining and educational at the same time. ❤️
Greenery! Plants and trees will warm up the spaces!
I love your sofa…it looks so warm and cozy
Love the intro !!!. Arvin, you made me LOL, ur so funny. That roasting was fantastic, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, i already wanna see the 3rd one, lol.
Omggg I saw the gather sign and I clicked so fast, because I got a gather sign like 3 years ago and I’m like I feel like it’s just not it anymore. My style has changed so much from 3 years ago. I just went with what was more accessible than truly loving stuff.
“Definitely don’t want to gather there nonono” - lol I DIED 💀
This was such a great video. Really great solutions to real decorating challenges, and the giveaway was the icing on the cake!
Loving Tracy's blues, esp. her rug!! I wish I had the courage to embrace color like that. A lighter sofa might tone things down a little and make the blue pop better, IMO, although no one asked.
People have done these types of review videos for a while now, but I think this is the first one I've seen where there was actually a giveaway to help jumpstart someone's new space! So generous and amazing that a participant won a sofa.
As the person who initially came up with this video idea, I wanna know where tf my free sofa is 😂😩😭 but for real - love the video! So glad you’ve made this into a series xx
hello arvin love to watch you, my grandaughter is 4yrs old and she watches you with me every day, she gets so happy when you do your dances, she screams for me to look he's gonna dance again lol love your videos keep going with them, thank you so glad I found your channel you are helping me a lot. thanks
I NEED HELP! pleeeeeease make a video on Christmas/winter decor! Lol
I am soooo glad Stephanie won the #AlbanyPark Couch whoot whoot! 🎉🎉🥳🥳
Thanks for your advices. I love watching your videos with my son. We have good laughs with your comments. Cheers from Australia!
Can we all meet back here next week for another episode? I need this….so much more of this!
Always look forward to your videos. Thanks Arvin🥰
The video editing is *chef's kiss* love this series Arvin!!!!
I was so pulling for Stephanie! Yay & congrats. That was a fun video and some great advice. 🤩
Stephanie really needed that so far! Super happy she got it!
Hi Arvin, How are you? Yes, yes bring it in. 💃 💃 what about art work or mirror on first room? Yes, curtains would make a difference for second space. Ivy Park sofa, that's thoughtful. Hopefully Stephanie can pull it together and send you an update.
This needs to be a weekly series! Like "Follower Fry-Day!" We all need help, Arvin, I love your videos!
i keep coming back just to hear the NO BODY ASKED just sound so cute
Your giggle after roasting us just makes me happy 😆
Cracking me up....I'd love to see a bunch of people raving to your opener. Is that crazy? Maybe in furry outfits, a bear, a panda....I don't know. It just looks so fun in my mind. Ok ..I'm crazy....crazy good! Hoody Hoody Who!
I think this is the first vid I've seen with no dislikes! Crazy and with 4k likes too. Nobody can dislike Arvin!
Great series! Amazing giveaway! Congrats to the winner. Albany Park has some beautiful and reasonable pieces!
I like your vibes always putting a smile on my face. Thanks😊😘
This is so inspiring to see your ideas for people's spaces!! Thank you!!
I love how Arvin actually fixes the problems in these.. I'm on my way to changing my boob light 😅
I was looking at the boob light above my washing machine, which I took down immediately when we moved in and put a different light. I finally did something right! I am HORRIBLE at decorating!
I’m so glad that you’re making this kind of videos. 🙌🏻
My 1 year old loves dancing to your intro music lol. We love your channel and all the advice!! You have a beautiful home and such an amazing sense of style.
I now want to start my lessons by saying "So, nobody asked but today is grammar tiiiiime!" ;-)
Hahaha Arvin you are my favorite! I always have such a good time when I watch you
would love to see the end results!! maybe do a follow-up series
I love how you are evolving ,,, your conversations are funny and fun ,,, jet classic ,,, 😘👍🏼
Hiii!!! Thank you for the videos. I find them very inspiring. I've read some comment saying that your laugh is contagious, and I totally agree with that. Watching your videos can actually lift my mood. And what's the name of the upbeat music at the beginning and the end of your videos? I truly like it.
Gurl!!! haha roasting is one of your fun talents :)
Love these episodes! Such great decor suggestions Arvin & Congrats to Stephanie.
I LIVE for these roasting videos!! They are great because it’s funny, but it’s also helpful as you suggest what they could do instead. We need more celeb ones! Definitely need a Shane Dawson and Ryland video at their new Colorado place! Love those boys x stay safe
Again, I love your fashion sense. That outfit is divine!
I love that I open the video and click like before Arvin sits down cos I know I'm going have a great time watching.
Hi i would suggest Kate might want to paint the rock wall white as the walls, which will transform the rock to just another wall and not a focal point. Any other color still be an accent. Also i would move the book cases and place tv on that wall eye level, maybe on top of both cabinets, sofa facing tv, and u will need curtains, love your marble side stand, i will replace side chairs to white boucle and wood, consider u only have one wall to work with, so maybe close the entry wall and place a mirror across from front door. also gather all your art on one wall. could not help myself to add my two bits, i love mid century, Liliana
The last picture of the 1960’s home, I had one and my husband and I did a complete renovation to bring it to a more contemporary mid century design… We also had a fireplace that closely resembled that one.. I hated it! So what I ended up doing was painting it a cream-white and it actually looked amazing! I also got rid of the divider as it seems it was popular in those homes. It was a great decision because it opened up the entire space and took away from the fireplace.
Great suggestions! That’s my home in the video and so glad to hear what you did to yours! Thank you!
@@katepaulsonsalenfriend8617
I used a mortar and brick paint for the fireplace. I saved a ton of money doing it myself. I promise you, you’re gonna love it! Especially going light in color. It keeps the character and charm of the original fireplace. Let me know if you do it! I would love to see how it turns out!
@@katepaulsonsalenfriend8617
I was curious to know if you have hard wood floors underneath your carpet?
@@Andrea-fl2ol I was hoping but no! Concrete slab!
yay I was hoping Stephanie would be the one to win the couch. So excited for her, hope it helps the process get started!!
You’ve seriously helped me so much with styling my space! I would love to participate in the next one and hear your feedback!!!
I love you! You have the sweetest laugh! Your paint color choices are so cozy! Can I ask what the color is on the wall in the room you’re sitting in? Love it so much!
Arvin….. I don’t know if it’s your haircut, makeup, or lighting, but you look fabulous!!! (Could be all three! 😉) Love the necklace also! 😊❤️
Stephanie and Alvin should get together for the makeover of that living room.
Stephanie should get some dividers and use part of that huge room as a dedicated office space ( bookshelves could work too to divide the room. Then the living area could be made a little cozier and not feel so large and empty. Also, area rug for sure!!!
Always excited with your new videos. Thanks Arvin 🥰
Wow! Congratulations Stephanie! I love this series! Alvin, you need a YT Channel just for the Roasting!
ALSO I would love for you to go to a Home Goods or a store that most of us have to show us some ideas.
Arvin, thank you sooo much for your videos. As soon as I saw this one uploaded, clicked the thumbs up first, and then started watching your video❤❤❤
I absolutely love this video. So much fun
That living space game show was quite enjoyable. Maybe you have done more after this one. Searching.
