Hi, Cat! Thanks for the video. I began using a notebook as a planner starting January 2024. In fact, searching for more examples of how people were doing that led me to you! With a notebook planner I'm the boss of my planner pages!! I like that!! I hope you reach your 10K goal. I'm routing for you all the way!! Have a lovely day, Cat!
Hi!😊 I am a notebook fiend! I love paper!! And writing!🥰🥰 My local dollar store (dollar tree) has so many cute notebooks, I regularly have to have the you don’t need to buy another notebook Rachel, you have plenty at home conversation with myself!😂 I like notebook planning, I remember the first year I did it, I couldn’t figure out what planner I wanted or what information I needed space for and I was like, get a notebook and figure it out, make different layouts see what you need, that sort of thing. I had so much fun, it really is such a creative space! The two biggest drawbacks I had that year was trying to make an appointment and it was for a month I hadn’t written out yet and then there were some weeks I was so tired and didn’t feel creative I would stare at the blank page like I have no clue what I’m doing, with the planner I use now I have a lazy fallback style where if I’m not feeling creative I know where to put washi and a sticker or two and my page looks cute and I didn’t have to put energy that I didn’t have into doing it. I tend to use notebooks more now as sort of extra planner space and so many journals! This video was super fun and I love notebook planning and notebooks in general! Thank you so much Cat and I hope you have a terrific weekend!!❤
Great! I also love the ability to experiment to see what works for me. There are plenty of free trackers that could be printed and pasted in or use some pretty washi tape to add it to the page. Great way to express your creativity
I started using a dotted notebook in 2020 when the price of Daytimer refills started getting quite expensive. I wasn’t finding planners that were the size I wanted with the formatting I needed so basically have been making my own custom planner for almost 5 years. I set up my whole year with monthly and daily sections, lists for books, craft projects. I do have a separate notebook I use for budgeting but have space to add that to my planner in future if I want to. Great videos Cat! 🌺
Hi Cat, I love these little notebook planners that you use! I really like that it is affordable and still so cute ❤ I also need to limit my spendings, because I spent so much money on beautiful stationery that wasn't necessary! If the extra money is there, it is okay, but today I need to spend the money on more important things. I still have some empty Leuchtturm journals though, because I bought them while they were cheap (also I'm in Germany), so they weren't really expensive back in the day.
This is definitely something I've been consider lately. I've been planning for more than half my life and am kind of particular on what I like and don't like in a planner. MANY planners nowadays are spiral bound which I hate because I take my planner almost everywhere with me and the rings get messed and caught on things. Also, a lot of planners are decorated now and I like to do my own decorating. While there are some plain ones, their layouts are just ugly to me. So I've really been thinking about keeping a journal style planner. I already keep multiple journals, what's one more haha. Thank you for this video 🙂
@planningcalm I actually have! A few years ago, before it was super popular. I think I gave up in July. Haha. There wasn't much out, as far as templates and inspiration & so I kinda lost steam. I just found a really interesting planner at Target, called Waav (we are all visionaries), unfortunately, it is spiral bound but it's interesting.
Another pro I have for using a notebook is the different size options. If I feel like using a small planner I can or if I need a larger one I can do that too.

I love using washi tape to decorate my pages. It’s such a great way to add a touch of personality.😊

Making your own is always a fun and creative idea! Have you ever considered using a bullet journal?
