Trudging through mud. Pelted by cool rain. Up to the cliff. Lifted by dizzying wind. Carried by the known, but unseen, to home base. Gravity defying and hypnotic.
SOOOOOO glad you have found this artist! The Rain Plans album has been in my rotation for years now, love the whole thing. Definitely Neil Young vibe. (and 89.3 the Current is our local station up her in MN, nice to see them getting a little air too. ;-) )
The whole KEXP performance is pretty good, too. ua-cam.com/video/jr9rFuqG60Y/v-deo.html I saw him live at a small venue here in Minneapolis, and killed it - high energy.
this album popped up on my streaming discovery mix a couple of months ago - the whole album is great - the sound goes back and forth from early 70s to early 90s - so good!
I don't comment on many videos, but I just gotta say I'm loving this more in-depth chord and theory review reaction style you've been doing lately. Thank you!
There's a bit of Old Neil's "Down by the River" in there...good vocals, pedal guitar dominates a bit a times. I like it, your channel throws up more great music to explore!
This was such an excellent reaction! This is amazing music I haven’t heard . As money have said huge Neil Young and Pink Floyd vibes! Love the breakdown of the chords and the intervals Michael, making us all better guitar players out here :)
Been a fan if IN for several years...always reminds me of Neil Young back in the day. If you're diggin' this, check out a band called Electric Magnolia Co. ....or Strand Of Oaks. Good stuff. Love the channel!
I often here you say that "you don't want to make this a long video" but I for one feel like there's so much learning to do in those long videos of yours, Highly recommend them
Dude. Have you ever done a rig rundown video? Your clean tone is so dope, would love you see what fx you're running. Great video as always. Can't wait for the next.
I hear a lot of good old school things. Some people have rightly mentioned Neil Young, I hear some Wishbone Ash too. Nice one Michael, well done. Cheers from Texas.
You ever check out any Luca Strignoli? Would love to see a reaction to some of his work. Especially if you've never heard him play. The man blows my mind. He is all instrumental though. Just him and one or two guitars. Or a crazy acoustical triple neck. 6 string, 7 string, & a reversed 3 string bass.
Nice stuff, will definitely surf more of their stuff. Michael If you appreciate the psychedelic country experience, you should; no MUST listed to Leon III album Antlers in Velvet. 'Fly Migrator' will knock your socks off.
Nice song but if you hear Jim Capaldi´s song Man without no country is very similar the riff with the guitar. Coincidence... ?🤔 Thank you Michael for your time and stay safe. Best from Mexico.
please, please please dissect the Joe Bonamassa track 'Live from Albert Hall Mountain Time' i think you will have a blast and I so want to hear your opinion on what I think is a masterpiece, but I truly love the way you love music and your obvious knowledge of music is sickening ;-)
The song is very much Cortez the killer/Down by the river and the guitar solos is very much influenced by David Gilmour/Pink Floyd. All in a Country package, love it!
Dude, this won’t make for great UA-cam BUT you need to check out Nick 13 of Tiger Army. His solo album is a great Americana album and the story writing is next level. You can find videos for Carry My Body Down and All Alone - may not make for great reaction videos but you may appreciate his talents. Highly recommended!
Hey.. Can you react to Santino Le Saint's album called 'Rage Of Angels' please. He plays alot of the Electric Guitar. Smooth soulful voice with blue's sound. Check out tracks like Maria Don't Call Me, Unholy, Love Lies & The Lights. He is a young British Artist. I would love to see your reaction to his songs & music :)
I recommend you react to some Grateful Dead here’s something you should react to 6/6/91 China cat sunflower into I know you rider it’s tight stuff please I’m begging you to react to this you’ll really enjoy it
I love how when you’re really feeling it, you make this face like you just saw someone stub their toe or something (you make the same face when you’re playing) it’s so organic and cool man.
Comfortably Young
That solo is very Neil Young influenced , right down to the “old black” tone
YES
All of Israel Nash is heavy NY/CH vibes
Some serious old school vibes in this for sure. I am super glad you chose this one. I didn't know I was looking for this until I found it here lol
I was forgotten Israel completely. Thanks for bringing this up. I have seen him live in 2011 and he is a great talent. Back on the playlist again.
I found his music about a year ago and listen to it all the time now. Stoked to see you covering him!
Even the drums have a cool Floyd vibe. Overall, a very nice 2021 version of Floyd-infused Americana.
Trudging through mud. Pelted by cool rain. Up to the cliff. Lifted by dizzying wind. Carried by the known, but unseen, to home base. Gravity defying and hypnotic.
Ever considered a foot pedal/button to pause/start the video? Would keep your hand on the guitar. Love the Reaction videos!!!

The vocal melody even is very gilmourish without stepping on any toes. love it.
There’s a heck of a lot of My Morning Jacket in there too
Dodante.
Came here to say this.
I'm getting more of a Cortez the Killer vibe myself. In other words, solid.
I can definitely see the Gilmour influence, but yeah, Cortez the Killer fits!
I was also getting a wings vibe . You can’t beat Zuma
The pre chorus is just like Down by the river pre chorus too. Cool arrangement, if your gonna rip off someone Neil or Gilmour are good choices
@@melian9999 I prefer "pay tribute to" rather than rip-off but Down by the River is a good call too.
I was thinking 70s Neil as well.

Yea I am going to check out more because I liked seeing Michael do reactions but this makes it even better!
There's a bit of Old Neil's "Down by the River" in there...good vocals, pedal guitar dominates a bit a times. I like it, your channel throws up more great music to explore!
Great call! Definitely got some Neil vibes when the vocals came in
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Buddy miles my dude
Always helping me find new music. Thanks again!
This is pretty much my dream band sound I’m big on Floyd and Neil Young and this vocal range suits what I can do. Nice find Michael
Let’s dive into some,,,
Tony Rice !!
My morning Jacket!!
Some Wilco Jams !!!
Jerry Garcia Band!!!!
Victor Wooten!!
Eric Gales!!
Actually opened for him in Sweden. Very nice guys.
"Pink Floydish country" is a good way to put it. Beautiful live music.
Wow. Thanks for the heads up. They have a great sound!
Holy hell. That was amazing. These guys tear it up. Holy hell, I’m gonna have to start watching these guys, just amazing.
That walk up reminds me of the walk up in “What Do You Want From Me” off Pink Floyd’s Division Bell
Love this one. I'm definitely jamming on this.
David Gilmour and Country in the same sentence? Why yes notification, I will give that an immediate watch.
This was such an excellent reaction! This is amazing music I haven’t heard . As money have said huge Neil Young and Pink Floyd vibes! Love the breakdown of the chords and the intervals Michael, making us all better guitar players out here :)
Nice mashup of different styles - that's what tends to catch my attention.
12:29 Floyd meet's Allman Bros...Ladies and Gentlemen - may I present "The Floydman Brothers" :)
This is stunningly beautiful to me.
Two questions MP:
What's the best way to learn that language you're speaking here?
How many PRS axes do you own?
Sign up, support the channel, take the lessons, learn the talk
Been a fan if IN for several years...always reminds me of Neil Young back in the day. If you're diggin' this, check out a band called Electric Magnolia Co. ....or Strand Of Oaks. Good stuff. Love the channel!
LOVE Israel Nash! Everything from Rain Plans to Topaz is top shelf. As good as Joey was on lead, Eric Swanson IS the undisputed badass in the band.
Been waiting to see him live. Love his stuff!
Tasty is a mid-atlantic word. Every day talk in Delaware, long ago and far away. NEVER hear it in California. Love it! 💕🙋🎶
this guy records down the road. smooth music
neil young sounding
@@bretthardin9239 It is almost the same chord progression as Southern Man, except in Dm.
Dripping Springs ✌️
@@gui-texzan7477 off nutty brown road and 1826
SoulFools that’s what I was hearing and comfortably numb sounding
I often here you say that "you don't want to make this a long video" but I for one feel like there's so much learning to do in those long videos of yours, Highly recommend them
Dude. Have you ever done a rig rundown video? Your clean tone is so dope, would love you see what fx you're running.
Great video as always. Can't wait for the next.
I hear a lot of good old school things. Some people have rightly mentioned Neil Young, I hear some Wishbone Ash too. Nice one Michael, well done. Cheers from Texas.
My first listen of this dude, & I'm digging the Floyd-tinged americana. Nice! :)
You ever check out any Luca Strignoli? Would love to see a reaction to some of his work. Especially if you've never heard him play. The man blows my mind. He is all instrumental though. Just him and one or two guitars. Or a crazy acoustical triple neck. 6 string, 7 string, & a reversed 3 string bass.
down by the river
So much like comfortably numb meets Time.
I hear Young and Gilmour. But does anyone else hear McCartney, "if I ever get outta here" from Band on the Run? Great videos, both of them.
Nice stuff, will definitely surf more of their stuff. Michael If you appreciate the psychedelic country experience, you should; no MUST listed to Leon III album Antlers in Velvet. 'Fly Migrator' will knock your socks off.
Country, Pink Floyd and Neil Young. So sweet.
You are so right it sounds like my buddy Robert gilmore's playing....pretty nice huh.
Reminds me of one of the best Floyd songs Time. Hes playing the falcon to obviously. Pretty Gilmoreesque
The first Neil song that this calls to mind is On The Beach for me.
I really enjoy it! Thanks
I really like this new batman PRS 😂
Nice song but if you hear Jim Capaldi´s song Man without no country is very similar the riff with the guitar. Coincidence... ?🤔 Thank you Michael for your time and stay safe. Best from Mexico.
Gotta do one on blake mills
Please Michael, reacts to "Out of my mind - Joh Mayer (Where the light is)". It's a blues song
I got Neil Young vibes from this as well. What a great song.
that shit is beautiful
Check out all of Davy Knowles! Especially "Live At The Gaiety"
Neil Young Down By the River vibes?
Need a tab for this so badly
Is that Aaron Rodgers on drums? LOL Cool tune.
Thanks
please, please please dissect the Joe Bonamassa track 'Live from Albert Hall Mountain Time' i think you will have a blast and I so want to hear your opinion on what I think is a masterpiece, but I truly love the way you love music and your obvious knowledge of music is sickening ;-)
"Down by the river"
3 minutes in.l and all I hear so far is Neil Young
Another great video
You should do a reaction for King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard - The River live at KEXP
I’m getting Neil more than Gilmore, but I’d agree that base is Floyd.
The song is very much Cortez the killer/Down by the river and the guitar solos is very much influenced by David Gilmour/Pink Floyd. All in a Country package, love it!
Got m with the title
Buffalo Springfield?
Hear a lot of Neil Young/Allman Brothers/Southern Rock vibe. The background comping definitely throws in a little richard wright overtones.
New office Michael?
Did you say ii chord a few times when you meant IV?
The solo sounds like it’s played by Chris buck
Hey..
Can you react to Santino Le Saint's album called 'Rage Of Angels' please.
He plays alot of the Electric Guitar. Smooth soulful voice with blue's sound. Check out tracks like Maria Don't Call Me, Unholy, Love Lies & The Lights.

Gilmore geet and Neil young vocal
So Down by the river was a little TOO borrowed from Neil.
Vocal lines and chords same. Gotta give Neil some credit here. Cool vibey tune though 👍
14:06, if Neil Young played a solo on The Chain by Fleetwood Mac?
Explain 6 is your 4.
This guy does not get the credit he deserves. His new album Ozarker might be even better than the Rain Plans record. Cover to cover excellent!
I recommend you react to some Grateful Dead here’s something you should react to 6/6/91 China cat sunflower into I know you rider it’s tight stuff please I’m begging you to react to this you’ll really enjoy it
Hotel california by eagles the acoustic version. Ppppllleaseeeeee
Mid lake guitarist ?
Yeah, I’m hearing more of a Neil Young type thing too. Very tasty
what is the name of the song?
Yes I hear Neil young
For me Israel Nash is a better version of Neil Young, and I love Neil's music.
Way more Neil Young than Floyd IMO
Neil Floyd
Sounds like Neil Young
I love how when you’re really feeling it, you make this face like you just saw someone stub their toe or something (you make the same face when you’re playing) it’s so organic and cool man.
Suggestion for you.... first song here: ua-cam.com/video/HIayeSLUoK0/v-deo.html
First? Again?
You must have a lot of free time 😂
Ken you believe it?
@
I think if you isolated that vocal you would not be happy.
This song would make a good mashup of “love don’t cost a thing” by destiny’s child
