  • June’s Jubilee Jig was danced at a Midwinter Twilight Social run by Box Hill Scottish Dancers.
    The dance was held on 27th July 2024 in Burwood, Melbourne, Australia.
    The dance as devised by George Gaze in 1994 for his friend.
    June Inwood was a former Scottish Country Dance teacher at the Box Hill
    Scottish Country Dance Club.
    The Musicians for the evening were, David South (accordion), Duncan Smith (Piano), Matthew Robinson & Philip Healey (fiddles)
    The Dance Instructions are:
    JUNE’S JUBILEE JIG (J4x38) 4C set, George Gaze, 1994
    1-4 1s cross giving RH & cast off 1place (2s step up 3 & 4).
    5-8 1s dance 1/2 diag reel of 4 with 1st Cnrs, passing partner’s 1st Cnr by RS to
    begin. 1s end passing LS ready to
    9-12 dance 1/2 diag reel of 4 with 2nd Cnrs, passing partner’s 2nd Cnr by RS to
    Begin. 1s end in 2nd place own sides ready to
    13-24 repeat bars 1-12 with dancers in 3rd &4th positions as Cnrs.
    25-28 1s &2s (at foot of set) 1/2 Rs & Ls.
    29-32 2s & 4s (in middle) 1/2 Rs & Ls.
    33-36 2s &3s (at top) 1/2 Rs & Ls.
    37-38 1s &2s cross over giving RH.
