In Rugby League, you're not allowed to throw the ball forward to another teammate as forward passes are completely illegal (it's one of the distinguishing differences between American Football and Rugby League). The guy who was about to score the try tossed the ball to his teammate at 0:22, but the rule is that you have to be closer to the opposing team's dead ball line than the teammate you're passing to, and the teammate had already run past him, thus making it an illegal forward pass. Even though neither of them were trying to use it to cheat or gain an advantage, a rule is still a rule
The commentators make this clip even better!

Sorry, do not know much about rugby but curious what is wrong here? You cannot give a pass in the end zone?
It's a foward pass, that is illegal.
Ball has to touch the ground
You can pass in the in-goal area, just not forward, as is the case anywhere else on the field.
anyone gonna explain what went wrong here?

@@CopiousDoinksLLC your spot on but remember this is union not league but yeah you can’t pass the ball forward at any time
@@CopiousDoinksLLC Rugby 7s are a variant of Union rules. But yes, the forward pass rule is the same between Union and League.
