Can I breastfeed when using this?

      Hi Elizabeth,
Always consult with your care provider for medical advice! There may be some reasons specific to your case that would not allow you to take Enoxaparin while breastfeeding.
However, I did find a review of 3 papers that suggests that there are no adverse effects of breastfeeding while taking Enoxaparin: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK500600/. But again, always consult your doctor before making a decision!

Can this be given on the back of the arm?

    • @NurseRyan

Enoxaparin is most often administered in the subcutaneous tissue (which contains fat and connective tissue) in the belly. In general, subcutaneous injections can also be administered in the back of the arm, however, I have not seen Enoxaparin administered this way.
It may be possible, but I would definitely check with the healthcare provider before administering it in the back of the arm. First, it would be much more difficult to self-administer to the back of the arm, and you may risk administered to the muscle instead of the subcutaneous tissue. Second, it may also be more painful to administer to the back of the arm. Hope that helps!
