Unbelievably pumped Bailey covered this case!!! YAAA!!! I've been suggesting it for awhile! My grandmother grew up in Macon and told me all about Anjette (amazing name, btw) and how everybody thought she was THAT bish in her Cadillac, blonde bombshell, owning her own business in the 50's. Lit'rally everyone liked her and ate at her restaurant. Every doctor, judge, and cop in town. That's how she got away with it for so long.

An interesting thing about Arsenic is that its initial symptoms subside making people think the victim is all better now, that they're recovering. But they return with an increased intensity and then the patient rarely survives, especially since it was the 50s and the treatment options are limited.
I mean it's just sad how you get better only to get worse.

As a 50s child, yes the 50's were very weird, into the sixties. DV was considered "personal" behind closed doors. Our small town pharmacist had a high probability of being a sociopath, everyone knew he beat his wife to the point of breaking bones. Always wondered how many mysterious illnesses he caused. *whispers* Aqua Tofana.* But it was an isolated town and there were no other options. Oh the stories I could tell!

Bailey, I would love it if you would talk about the case of Nicole Montalvo! It happened in my hometown in 2019 in Saint Cloud, Florida. She was killed by her ex husband and his family helped him hide the body in a really horrific way. If you could look into this case and talk about it I would love to have her story told.

Something to note about Annjette ordering the funerary stuff for her daughter is that this was the 50s-60s, it isn't like she was scrolling amazon on her phone. She was having to CALL people or meet IN PERSON. That's a choice. A true CHOICE she had to make.

50s though… kids were still commonly dying of diseases we now have routine vaccinations for, so it wouldn’t have been as suspicious to the people she was calling for a mom of a 9 year old to of been looking into funerary stuff I don’t think. Preordered coffin tho for a child size… idk. For an adult preordering your coffin with the funeral home would be fine, but child sizes vary too much. But that poor baby when the coffin was ordered…
(My grandmother- May her memory be a blessing- had so many stories of coming back from winter break to fewer classmates in that era. )

I used to live at the massee on college street but I'm back in my hometown of Cochran, 40 miles south of Macon. I had heard of this story before and I think that the Lyle's store that was here in town was connected to them. I'm not exactly sure. We're known for one of the first microprocessors being built here by my pediatrician, Dr. Roberts. Also, the lady who had a company that sold plus-size clothes for women, Mrs. Nancy was her name, and Oprah was one of her customers when she was in business, but that woman went to school with my grandmother and they used to double date. My grandmother also said that nancye went streaking across the college campus one night as well.
I live in Macon and Ben was my great great uncle! Not many people talk about this story.

It usually IS poison, I called it the moment her first husband passed because majority of the time arsenic was seen as a woman's poison because it's virtually untraceable and the symptoms are always the same. The sudden illness with no recovery and the only way you can find it is, like mentioned, someone knows what they are looking for.
I honestly wasn't surprised when she killed her own child. It's terrible but it seemed very textbook.
My question is about Bailey and her audacity to stop with the theme song. It makes me sad 😥. Whyyyyy???? Bailey why??????

I accidentally smooshed my 4 year old's chubby little fingers on his closet door today and I held him trying to comfort him while we both cried together because I felt so bad that I hurt my baby! I can't imagine ever wanting to hurt my own child 😭 And in such a slow, painful way 😭😭😭😭😭😭
