  • The Hebrew Bible doesn't have just one word for man, it has four!
The words adam, ish, gever, and enosh all can be translated into English as 'man', however they all have differing nuances and special uses which we'll explore in this video.

Thanks. This is really helpful. For those of us learning Hebrew to better understand our Bibles, one really needs to have a sense of some of the idioms -- expressions within the language. How we hear and describe the concept of man is an essential one of course.
Son of man of course is essential. When Christ was against simmering evil, hidden in the room he would refer to the "Son of Man" as though he were talking directly to Satan and it's jealousy or repulsion of man.
    Will save this and subscribe.
