Welcome welcome, one and all This place is so filthy why stay here at all Why rest in a place so painful and small There is nothing to dazzle no spark of enthrall Who let this tavern become such a bore Rarely does an inn have so little in store But what if I told you there is so much more Let me show you a place I simply adore Tired while travel I've got just the stay Your own cozy cabin in the Rail-away The train never stops you may go as you please And everything’s fine 'long as you pay their fees But we can't stay to long now just as before And I could be wrong is that blood on the floor? Looks like we aren’t welcome you can't ride for cheap Let's venture on forward to the oceans deep Well the Drunken treasure is a haven bellow But where it is exactly I'll never know Oh and don't be surprised by what looks on outside And really don't fight it, believe me I've tried Let's all take a breather we’ll hope for the best The first rounds on me but you’ll pay for the rest I hope that this tavern doesn't let you bore Next up is a place that is fit for a lord Follow my lead to the watering hole Just know that the fog is always on patrol This tavern’s my favorite it's got it's own band And they are always more than happy to lend me a hand Welcome, welcome, one and all Come visit these taverns, come and have a ball Why settle for less, And why settle for small It's your game to play, why not come try ’em all
I love this, though I have a question- were there originally four taverns featured? Just asking as it seems like there’s an extra portion between The Drunken Treasure and Wizard’s Watering Hole.
Thanks! And yes, there was one more verse/tavern in the original version. It was right before the train. I'll be posting that version with the original lyrics soon!
Thanks Rui! Here's a list of the instruments I used for this track: mandolin, guitar, nyckelharpa, frame drum, tambourine, fiddle, and an Irish whistle. Then all the vocals and claps and some other background stuff. Hope this helps!
@@Firestxr Ah! How exciting! Guitar was my first instrument. Remember to take your time, be patient with yourself, and have fun learning and (eventually) rocking out! 🤘
@@JohnTheodoreMusic Alright, so bad news: I tried guitar for a week or so and then completely forgot about it Good news: I'm back at it better than ever. After a few weeks now, I have finished learning my first song (Oak & Ash & Thorn by The Longest Johns), and am now beginning to learn Tavern crawl! It's a struggle, but hey, what isn't?
@@Firestxr Nice! Playing music can be like that at times. I'll go through phases of not touching one of my instruments for a few weeks...but like a good friend, she's always there for you when you are ready. And she may be tough to master, but the rewards for sticking with it are worth the struggle. Glad to hear you're back at it!
Hey FireStar! Just finished writing the vocal part out for you. It's decently accurate, but Anna put her own flair to certain parts that I had trouble transcribing...so what I wrote out is really just a road map for the singing. It should be available with all the other sheet music now. Take a look and let me know if it makes sense and I hope this helps!
@@JohnTheodoreMusic Thank you so much! This is amazing! I've been looking all over the place for something like this. This'll be a lot easier to learn from that from the song xD
If/when the Kickstarter reaches $1,000,000 (which is mind-blowing) and I get to start talks with the team about writing the album, I'm going to be pushing for a variety of tracks. Some with lyrics/vocals, and some purely instrumental. I think taverns need a good mix of the two. Stoked everyone is digging the instrumental version though!

I'd love to try to play it
Sadly I cant read tab notation
Would it be possible to have a verion in a more traditional notation ?
Edit : fixed typos
@@annwan9557 Hey Annwan! I just uploaded both scores with classical notation. Try the link again, and let me know if they make sense!
@@JohnTheodoreMusic Everything looks good
Thanks a lot
Oh my god thank you! I decided to pick up the mandolin because of this song!
@@fishin4guitars1 Woohoo! It's always fun learning a new instrument, and the mandolin is a great one! Hope the sheet music helps!
A BLESSING FROM THE LORD
AMEN!
My F'ing god this is so blessed, the minute I heard this I knew I needed an instrument, it's so damn pretty!!
Thanks so much!
Im off to go singing then
Sing it loud, sing it clear, sing for everyone to hear!
I love that the visual chosen for this was that split second of the broken lantern burning on the ground, lol
😂 yeah...needed a loop that wasn't too busy for the instrumental, and this was the best one I could grab from the full version. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@JohnTheodoreMusic Best choice, very chaotic neutral, thinking of having this as my screen saver or somethin', lol
This is now officially my traveling music thank you so much for such an amazing track!

Isn't the instrumental for one more verse?
It is! You can listen to the "Demo" version that's up on my page to hear that extra verse.
@@JohnTheodoreMusic oh, sure, thanks! That makes sense now
Yes.
🤘
@@JohnTheodoreMusic Any word on maybe getting this on Spotify?
@@LizardOnAMushroom2358 Working on it.
when the bard is challenged to make a song without singing by some king and rolls a nat 20 + knows magic to make more of themself:
Yes beautiful ✨
Lol that made me sound like a bot i- 💀
😂
Thank you!
I’d jam to this while playing South Park: The Stick of Truth.
Killer combo right there! Love that game.

I will be honest this is so so so much better without the lyrics and feels far more natural for tavern music

I do agree the music is very good on its own. I have to say I do love the song though
Looks like the bard stayed behind because he was too focused on playing this song.
Sounds about right...
