Harping on getting the emblem straight... I love it! It's just like lining up the hub logo with the valve hole on the rim, just says attention to detail. I couldn't agree more with the CC 110/Hellbender 70 double lip seal crown race being the best one out there. The difference between it and the stock 40 single lip seal is beyond night and day. Great sluff as usual. 👍
I'm so behind on responding to comments. You remember the old commercial "this is your Brian on drugs", that egg in the pan would be my brain after my ocd noticed that the emblem was off by the slightest. 😁 I honestly don't know how popular the 110 race is, but I've been pushing it to people in my area for years. Seriously impressive how effective it is 👍
Thank yo so much for the support. more videos to come. hopefully some of the will come in handy for you one day. If you have any questions let me know 👍
I have the cheaper headset press and figured out after purchase that it was barely big enough. Just cut some wood 2x4 and drilled a hole to press the 1 1/2" cup
You can do that, but 2x4's today are so soft that there is a chance that the cup will sink into it a bit, which can end up pressing the cup into the frame at an angle. It is better to cut two 3"x3" squares of plywood, then reinforce them with washers, if you can't find fender washers large enough. I did this for a couple of years back in the 2012 time frame, and it worked well. Then I found larger washers, which worked much better
Totally agree. I use stainless bearings on my farly and see minor pitting in the carbon, yet no signs of corrosion on the bearing. Trek only has a 5 year warranty on that year frame. Now, the vast majority of time I ride it is in the winter, so I don't put hundreds of hours on it a year, but if it was my main bike, I have to assume the wear on the integrated cup would be much worse.

Integrated bearings are good if the frame have life time warranty.
