A very creepy scene that takes place during broad daylight in a crowded street...and it’s Disney!

Most ghastly occurances often occur in broad daylight in full view of everyone yet there are never any witnesses.
      That is truly creepy.
      Best funeral March ever btw...

I love the faint desperation in Jonathan Pryce's voice. He's consumed with getting his target, and it frustrates him to have to 'play games' to get it.

@doctorwho0077 yep that's rage..you can feel the micro-fraction that's holding him back from just beating the shit out of him..Jonathan Pryce with his words and movements takes the tension to 11, it's like watching an overwound spring about to break.. fantastic acting.

'Come visit me Sir, if you wish to improve your education'.

Not only an amazing movie, but a seriously inspiring performance by one of the world's best actors - Jonathan Pryce. The movie score (both of them, one that was used and the one that was cast away last minute for being too broody and dark) are amazing, and great sources for samples.

This era of Disney movies were my favorite as they came out when I was a kid entering young adulthood. This was before it went Full Corporate under Michael Eisner's tutelage and it was competing in the competitive space innovated by Spielberg and Lucas.
There's a darkness to this movie that is both sinister and cute and it plays out like an Edgar Allan Poe short story (notice how studios avoid making movies of his stories these days?) but we'll never see again from today's Disney Corp as they're more interested in maximizing demographic profit dollars by making everything generally bland and consumable.

What's that? Oh, oh yes well he's about six foot one, caucasian, mid forties and harmed himself right in front of me. He's wearing a costume that looks like it's from the 1920's and left his blood on the north sidewalk of the north east intersection of Fifth and Seventh".
Later on, the cops come by to investigate the blood, bring the old man down to the carnival to confirm the identity of the man he reported. The cops then question Mister Dark:
Investigator: "So you came to our town, for what reason?"
Mr. Dark: "I am here because I need Will Halloway and Jim Nightshade to ride my carousel".
Investigator: "Okay sir you're under arrest for attempted kidnapping and attempted interference with a minor!"
The cops arrest Mr Dark and as he's being put into the police car, he sees Charles
Mr. Dark: "I'll get you for this Charles!!"

Also Remember this film is just shy of 40 years old now.
I still haven't decided if it will take place in 1983, or make it a sequel 🤔 following the decendants of the original characters in 2022, The present.

I literally just now got it! This scene scene, and the whole story is heart wrenching and creepy, but it all works off of a parents wish to keep their child innocent. Throw in the small town aspect and you have outsiders and their worldly ways encroaching on your children. That’s the October people. Honestly I see more layers here than that but I don’t want to write my own book here.
