Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! I never get jealous of people travels, but antarctica is just different. One of my dream destinations
same here. i recently checked them out..legitimately need a buget of like £8000 minimum ( per person on two people sharing)..if u go for the most frugal option you can find. I would reckon they have not gone for the cheapest option. I bet it is like £15 000 a person just the cruise they booked..

My husband and I did the Antarctic trip a few years ago. We also had a wonderful time and I did the polar plunge at 75 yrs. The grandchildren were even impressed.
One of the first vlogs we saw was the Trans Siberian railway trip, we did it from Ulan Batam to Moscow. Having the same cabin the whole trip was super and staying at the great hotels every few nights.

I don't really like watching vloggers but I absolutely love watching Kara and Nate, they live the life I've always dreamed of living.

Up until now, I've never wanted to go to Antarctica because I'm like Kara, I don't do well in the cold. Just the thought of cold or freezing temperatures sends shivers down my spine. However, after seeing this video I wanna go and especially do the Polar Plunge!!! Thanks Kara and Nate!

Eva B look at cruises in the med: I know crystal cruises has the espirit (their smallest boat, about 65 people) in the italy/greece area, the week long cruise you go to about 5/6 ports, where there are about a dozen different trips you can choose between (complementary)

@@nyad9994 viruses can easily live in those conditions. It's 25-30F right now - just like any city of the US in winter - and as you know, we get hit by lots of flu in the US during winter.

Beautiful pictures and fantastic experiences. It takes an impressive amount of intestinal fortitude to dive into a sub-freezing temperature, as salt-water actually does not freeze at 0 degrees Celsius. Obviously, this Antarctica experience takes place during the 'southern hemisphere' summer in February. Great show Kara and Nate, thank you for giving all of us an experience we can enjoy as fellow humans.

in every Video i realize how much their Relationship has changed from the "Oh i love you" every 5 mins to the little things. I remember when I first came to Finland and people wanted me to jump in a hole they made in the ice on a frozen lake and I was like hell no. Now 14 years later it's 1 of the best parts about winter. I do it as often as possible every single winter.

Honestly all of this coronavirus business has left me feeling quite disheartened over the last few weeks thinking about all the places and people that have been affected. And although there is much bigger things to be worried and concerned over, I have been quite upset with the fact I will probably not be able to go abroad for the foreseeable future because of the virus as the majority of countries are affected. I have always been a big Kara and Nate fan but over the last while I have loved going back and watching your old and new travel videos, as my way of living my experiences through you. I think your channel is so important because you bring peoples attention to lots of beautiful places many would have never thought to travel to before, and also in this time of crisis you are bringing joy to many people, including myself, who are not currently able to travel and really miss it. Super luxury looking, too. Did they say how much they paid? They're probably doing a video exchange collaboration but my bet is that it's priced so that it weeds out the people who wouldn't genuinely enjoy themselves.
Then there's the pandemic situation that's been threatening all aspects of travel for awhile. If there's not too much latency between when this happened and when we're seeing it, then that could also be a contributing factor.
It looks like it's absolutely stunning. I expect there's a certain amount of reverence simply knowing the challenges of accessing such a remote and harsh location.

Our atmosphere as well as the whales prefer humans to admire that part of our world in stunning documentaries, rather than shipping all those rich humans hungry for experience around the globe, adding CO2 and whatnot.
Yess and it's sad cus balugas, orcas ect are supposedly already really nice to humans in the wild but ig we had to take advantage of that;(

Today we had about -10 degrees Celsius where I live (Sweden) and we went “cold bathing” in a lake on our lunch break at work. It’s beginning to get difficult to get in the water now because of the ice we have to break before we can can go in the water. But it’s definitely worth it!
We do it at least once a week and we are in the water for about 3-4 minutes every time. ITS AMAZING. Try it, you won’t be disappointed :)

I was a lineman at McMurdo Station Antarctica in 93 -95 I wintered over and did the polar plunge at the Kiwi base, Scott Base, it was amazing, very humbling experience and saw things that people can only imagine 👍❤️

It's all an act lol. All of these "couple UA-camrs" just put on a show when the camera is rolling, they're probably still good together but they exaggerate everything when filming.

Just got back from a 16 day cruise to the Antarctica. A wonderful experience. All of us on board were there to experience and demonstrate respect for a continent that is vital to our planet.

I once saw a pod of 50 or so orca whales when I was on a ferry coming back from Vancouver Island to Vancouver Canada. The ferry actually went off course for over half an hour just to see this phenomenon . It was one of the most magical things I have ever experienced.
Thank you so much for sharing this journey. I teared up countless times watching these videos at the pure unobstructed beauty of Antarctica. This has now become the thing i want to do most in life (regardless of my fear of cruises)

The view is amazing. I have done several polar plunges in various states and the water is basically the same level of cold no matter where you do it. But hard to beat the view there.
