Do you MIX using WAVES Plugins? If yes, let me know what are your favorite Waves Plugins for Mixing Music.
1. RVox
2. RBass
3. RenAxx
4. Doubler
5. StudioRack
H-Delay, WLM Plus, PS22 Spread, LinMb
@@marcel_max All great choices. WLM Plus is crucial when I'm doing broadcast.
MV2, R-Comp, H EQ,F6, R Reverb, Studio Rack
R comp.studio rack. Revrb SE. ns1.ssl.
Nice, thanks for sharing and the breakdowns. Our favorites are J37, 76, Puigtec (Pultec) EQ, CLA-2A and H-delay
I was really digging that guitar solo and tone! Another cool video. Been enjoying your channel, thanks!
Waves and Arturia are my go-tos for mixing/mastering. For Waves, i mostly use the SSL E-Channel, SSL G-Master Bus Compressor, H-Verb, API 2500 Compressor and 550B EQ, Retro-Fi, and the WLM Loudness Meter. I have A LOT of Waves plugs ins, but these are my most used.
All musicians listen up. STOP supporting plugin subscription companies! They don’t have your back! You are renting! Not owning! Most importantly if they all have their way you will be adding 5 to 10 or more monthly bills! On top of most important life’s bills!!!! All these companies end game is wanting this including digital distribution companies now. You will go thru life within more bills than you ever imagined! Because you didn’t fight back the greedy system! And own NOTHING! STAND UP! SPREAD THE WORD!!
My 'go to' Waves plugin is RVox brings the vocals up a treat - but have just started using MV2 as an all rounder downwards/upwards compressor on various instruments/vocals as you demoed as a quick alternative to Squasher, and am loving that one as well - really versatile.
Once you get used to mv2 it's going to be one of the most used plugins. It's hands down one of the greatest ever made! Rvox is a must have too it's phenomenal and the gate is absolutely perfect.
I use F6 Floating Bank Dynamic EQ for general EQ trouble shooting, Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain for my master bus and SSL G mainly for parallel compression.
My favourite Waves plugins are; CLA Bass (a must on all of my basses), Brauer Motion, Abby Road TG Mastering Chain, S1 Stereo Imager, SUBmarine, Smack Attack, Maserati HMX, LoAir and Greg Wells VoiceCentric and Electric 200 Piano and Ovox
Thank you very much for sharing, this is an excellent video to help you get to know the WAVES plug-in from a new perspective
Glad you enjoyed it!
vocal rider is really useful, S1 still gets a lot of use too. MV2 and Rvox gets used on most projects too! My favourite secret weapon is Parrallel Particles. Very strange but effective plugin!
R-Bass reduces stereo field adding mono elements no matter the input. Something to keep in mind. Great plugin.
CLA MixDown is on my 2buss 90% of the time. I have the MV2 but wasn't using it lately, you reminded me what a great tool it is. CLA Nx is great, I use Sienna the most, but CLA's is always there too for reference.
Great to hear! Thanks!
Good selection Chris. All really nice plugins. I still love the CLA plugins, SSL style console and compressors. Great stuff.
Glad you like them!
Toujours de bons conseils. Merci! 🙂
I've just recently got into PreSonus Studio One and am gathering some plug-ins. Waves had a sale this October with a lot of them being $29.99, so I grabbed a few that piqued my interest. Then Waves gave me StudioRack and SoundGrid Studio + eMotion ST 8 Ch. Mixer free for creating an account, and the concurrent buy 2 get 1 sale netted me another, their Sibilance plug-in.
My effects chain is a mix between PreSonus stock and Waves. My favorite Waves is the Abbey Road REDD console and PuigChild 670 compressor. I know it's a meter, but my last plug-in in my chain is my Waves WLM Plus Loudness Meter.
SSL EV2, MV-2, F6, Kramer Tape, R-Bass & R-Comp, Scheps 73, H-Delay & EQ.
I will use most all of these on every mix.
Thanks for sharing - Cheers,
mvh
Very nice!
My favorite Waves plugins are R Bass, MV2, CLA76, Vocal Rider, and H Delay. Most get used on every project.
I think you should check out the GEQ Graphic Equalizer. I use fabfilter for most of my EQs, but this GEQ Graphic Equalizer from waves has 30 ISO bands across the EQ spectrum that you can raise or lower with faders. I have a "problem" frequency in my voice. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint the exact area in fabfilter. I use the GEQ Graphic Equalizer to pinpoint the exact frequency, and just lower it a little bit with a fader.
Both Scheps and CLA plugins are GREAT! Have a blessed, safe holiday!
Yes they are! Thanks and all the best for 2022, Ray!
Great information... Thank you so much😊
You're welcome!
Hi, Chris. I've just known your channel. Really awsome! Not only the content is very good, but also the songs you use as an example are totally my style. Maybe it's because I'm 65...
Awesome, thank you!
Nice video as usual .
Vocal Rider is my favorite one .
The best way to deal with high dynamic vocals and the best friend of beginner singers 🙂 .
You dont need Vocal Rider! its much better to use 3 Compressors (1 peaks, 2 fat, 3 limiting) (!)
And Vocal Rider ist not a solution for all tasks.
@@Byron101_ TBH that only works on certain vocals, particularly on heavy vocals(metal). On the lighter stuff where it's singer/songwriter stuff, r/b, Bryan Adams stuff...it's better to automate it instead of using a plugin. Still to this day automation is the best way to get that polished sound instead of relying on compression and limiting! To do that before you even start your compression as part of your editing process and you'll find it's easier to work with the vocal, and you'll get better results!
Will you please do a video on mixning brushes. On how to get that nice sound something like , chris rea drivning home for christmas
Thanx Chris!
Bon après-midi and thanks for the video. Would you mind telling us (maybe again) what trackball brand/model you use?
Hey Marcel! Sure thing, I can make a quick video on this
M2V testé sur une chanson française ! 🥰 la classe! 👍 Waves, mes plugins favoris! Thanjs!🙏
CLA-Nx will get a decent producer from A to Z on a mixdown like a champ. Just got this a few weeks ago. 👊🏽🎼🎹
I use the SSL E Channel and SSL Bus Comp until the SSL-Native Essentials bundle goes on sale again^^
But(!) I will still use the AR Mastering Chain, which is very nice… AND you made me want to buy CLA-NX, man! This feature looks handy^^
Chris, Your choices are pretty cool! The three I use the most are MV2, Tune Real-Time and StudioRack. (I can't tell you what's in StudioRack. It's TOP SECRET like the KFC recipe)
LOL! Thanks
I love Omni-Channel and MV-2, I also like J-37 tape and S-1 a lot!
You're right, J-37 is great
I have 7 Waves Plugins and they're all amazing. Including the CLA-NX. i have to say that my favorite is the new SSL EV2 channel strip. Although the OVox Vocal Resynthesis and UltraPitch aren't too fat behind. I also have the Lofi Space, OneKnob Phatter, and Brauer Motion which are cool as well. The last one has yet to find its way into a mix, but it shall at some point, just for some swirly psychedelic goodness.
the Vox Synth
EV2 is awesome but a cpu hog.
@@csdarlington86 You do have to pick and choose when to use it.
About that MV2 I kind like it myself!Still i would like to mention that indeed is from comp class as you mention in fact the sub class is the expander-limiter that s what is doing ! is like you mention but in fact is like i mention !ither or both meening expander and or limiting ! is not quite the comp pure side where you just level and cuting top !because we have out like make up gain control !or gain comp if you wish ! i thing both dsp code are on transparent medium comp as well !
The Drum bus in Ableton does the job pretty well
Beautiful song !!!
Cannot believe I never used the MV2 hit the subscriber button and bell to that jewel you dropped. Thanks
You're welcome! Thanks for the SUB!
Mv2, rbass, rvox, vitamin, and Omni are mine
Have you been looking over my shoulder? Apart from Lo-Fi and NX, about the only waves plug-ins I use these days, every now and again R-VOX for that 70‘s vox
Maybe I was! LOL
Just started with some Waves plugins during Black Friday deals. Lol! Can still get great mixes in Cubase Pro 11 stock plugins (especially Squasher which is like MV2). Really liking Scheps Omni and AR Mastering Chain from Waves. Cheers!
For sure, I use Cubase Stock Plugins all the time. I actually made a video on MV2 vs Squasher a year ago ua-cam.com/video/eWhoejVLEyM/v-deo.html
But you have to pay for Cubase constantly as well
13:55 in the background: how do you put the volume automation directly on the track image? I thought that It was not possible in Cubase
It's not on track image but on the Automation Lane of the Channel. It's a Cubase Pro feature in the Automation Settings
THANK YOUUUUUU VERY MUCH
You're welcome!
My Grandad used to use Waves plugs back in the day to produce Acid House Music
Lol! They've been around for quite a while!
Oh, I like the MV-2
My top 5
Cla76
F6
Kramer tape
Renaissance eq
Cla2a
Watch out for the WUP!
Do you use CLA Nx at the start of your mix chain or the end?
At the end straight from the Cubase Control Room
I have several Waves plugins but for some reason, they stopped working so I mostly rely on the stock Cubase plugins. I have a few really good free ones that I use too.One day I'll figure out why they don't work but for now I'll stick with what does work.
If it works, don't break it :-)
Puigtec EQP1A, API-2500, dbx160, CLA-2A, and last, but not least.. Puigchild 670.
I have a bunch of waves plugins and although I use them often they seem to be very cpu heavy.
I like simple and magic plugin! My top waves one:
Abbey road vinyl
Abbey road TG mastering
Rvox
Greg wells mix centric
Vitamin
MV2
Smack attack
RVox is such a classic!
I bought the Diamon bundle from WAVES long ago but i don't follow the update plan, i also don't upgrade to tte next possibel bundles.
I bougt that bundle as i began to mix with differnt DAW's cause i like to have plugins that i can use in all of them.
Later i bought plugins from diffent manufactors like Fabfilter, Plugin Alliance and more, so i don't use the plugins from WAVES often.
The plugins from WAVES that i still use are the CLA Compressors like the CLA-2A and the CLA-76.
The reason that i don't use the WAVES plugins often is that the manuals are only available in englich and mostly very simple.
I don't like the plugins that are doing more in the background i can not access, i like to use plugins that give me more accessability, more options.
Thanks for sharing! In my book, you work with the type of plugins that fits best for your needs, like you do on your side :-)
what about new ssl ev2?
CLA 76, CLA 2A, Smack Attack, One Knob Series, SSL Bus Comp, E and G Channel Strip
These are some of my favourites 😃 including all you mentioned ones 😀
Awesome. These are great plugins! Thanks for sharing!
hi Chris, may be most of the audiece will give a thumbs up to my comment, so may be you will make a video giving your tips about making the singer feel comfortable during recording, types of reverbs or delays that you choose for the singer, besides you use in the mix, and may be some other things you'd like to talk about.. (or may be you already made a video that I missed).. thanx anyways..
👌🏻
Retro-Fi is already in the top!
It's an amazing plugin!
Waves = The best 🔥🔥🔥
AS YOU CAN IMAGIN THE R BASS IS EASY TO UNDERSTOOD WHAT S HAD INSIDE ! A NATURAL HARMONICS DSP CODE CONTROLED BY INTENSITY FROM A CHOOSED FUNDAMENTALS !
Nx Oceanway
VU meter
Vitamin
CLA Bass
Smack Attack
waves audio plugins are the best plugins so far, at least I think so
Ohhh Chris.. When you are coming to India 🇮🇳..?
Tell me your program.. 🥳
I'm the little finger of your palm..
my home is waiting for you.. come AGRA and see The TAJMAHAL .
And taste world famous.. PETHA-DAALMONTH..😇🥰😍🤩
Waiting for your reply..🙏🙏
You are AMAZING 👏
Love you soooooo much ❤
Wishhhh you a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤ ♥ 💕 💗
And a wishful New Year 🥰😋
I have never been to India, and it's not on my future plans for now, anyways!
Come on Chris! Don't endorse this mob. Their upgrade model is very unfair to people like myself, who own a LOT of their plugins but can no longer use, in my case, in Cubase, because older versions are no longer compatible and would require £300 to upgrade to enable me to use the plugins I already bought! Phew.. breathe, move on and start using stock plugins???
Cheers
Alex
I talk about the plugins I work with, 3rd party and Stock plugins and not about the Waves business model.
After this week…😬
They are great plugins but you never really own them
More like top zero. Waves kinda blows
