As an instructor for several businesses breaking bad habits is very hard! Ideally you want someone who doesn’t have any habits as they are easier to mold! What he is doing is 100% necessary to help this guy. It’s easy to form bad habits and hard to form good ones. The forceful instructions will help! Great job Weak3n ! Man is doing it right!
100% agreed this is the way to do it. Breaking habits is soooo hard. I really wished he would VGS tho as well he’s very non vocal which is bad for a jungler.
I really wish he would ask questions. That’s the best thing you can do during a coaching session is pick the coaches brain. Brother doesn’t say a word and is just listening.
For example: there was one point where he struggled with target selection he 10000% should have asked “In that instance I know focusing on one target is the plan but out of those three people who should I have targeted first just for future reference if it’s a similar scenario?” Like be inquisitive brother ASK
It’s crazy seeing the decision making of new players, it makes me realise how many decisions I make without even consciously thinking about it after years of playing.
I think a part of what might be happening is he’s too wrapped up in waiting to be told what to do, and not thinking as much about what he should be doing based on what you’ve already told him, I could be wrong of course but just an observation, excited to see more of this
I love your coaching style. I also love how you address people who claim you are coaching wrong. Keep up the good shit. People who aren't receptive to stern coaching just aren't going to get better. This applies to anything in life. Life isn't fair, nor does it hold your hand when things get tough. I hate how people these days want a participation trophy for everything. Good luck leaving home at 18 and making it when you've never had to work for anything in your life.....
ive never been coached but hes 1 one star thana, he has a lot of time on it and if he has even 500+ hours on smite he should know thanatos is an all in god. Go in, fight, if you get a kill you keep fighting and penta kill, especially when this dude is full health he just tries to S key. No use of VGS at all either, very sad to see
What regular average players like the one we're spectatoing does not understand is that little details that are in our control have an impact later in the game for example in the first 30 seconds if he misses an auto he won't get the extra XP from the redbox
Once he gets to a higher level, teaching him how to read and play the map (macro) will make him a better conquest player than even some masters players
@@idolizedhonestly he couldve gotten both and be fine. Honestly jotuns is in a great place, almost every jg buys it first. Flat pen and cooldown for a cheap price. Honesty hydras is more niche because hydras is only good with a lot of power and hirez reduced power globally. Sorry for the rant tldr jotuns is basically an autobuy and hydras is niche for aa cancel gods and competes with the good jg items
Its crazy watching lower lvl players or new players making this simple mistakes. Really interesting being able to see your own progression (bc we all made these same mistakes) from making these plays without thinking but Weak3n is yelling at him to do it.
I dont think this coaching style is wrong. But I do think he is struggling with just how many commands you give him all at once. He will learn over time but i think less commands that require an immediate reaction like "2 - blink right now, 3-1 this person" would allow him more time to think about the other more important things you tell him.
he was having trouble keeping up. just needs to tighten up the mechanics. he said he was pretty new to thanatos so i get it. i'd prob be pretty hard to coach like this if i wasn't familiar with my buttons.
I agree, I have been playing for years and have coached my friends that never played anything close to smite. I used to start them off with easier builds that helped them get used to the god themselves, noobies won't auto attack as much and I always encouraged learning to use Beads and Aegis before blink because noobies forget about relics completely. Also ya too many commands at once can be overwhelming when someone is verbally scanning the whole game and every god they probably aren't familiar with while shouting out commands. He needs time to get used to one thing at a time. For people playing this so long for us its common sense but for others it makes no sense for the first few weeks and months even. Sure some people don't start warding until months into the game.
@gummybearvitamins1211 ye exactly. At one stage you just let them off like a new bird that needs to learn to fly. Will I comment on some mistakes they make? Damn ya but they have the foundation built and it's up to them after that!
If he can’t handle a second command like after backs go to blue then he isn’t ready for conquest in general. He needs to be ready for extra commands because even if this is practice for him these other players he’s up against don’t know or care about that. Getting him used to thinking about the next move is what he needs to make second nature. Constantly looking at the map to see what to clear next or rotate to.
Now I see why I be losing games we got gamers that don’t listen and still don’t understand their mistakes. Either is mic volume low or he can’t multitask
Honestly I believe he is learning a lot out of it but bro u are tough as hell hahahhaha (not necessarily bad). I am watching this and laughing my ass off bro hahaha
Ok hear me out, do a series where you coach a whole team of Bronze MMR players, and have Inbowned or ElLeon coach his own team of bronze players and pit both teams against eachother.
Weak3ns coaching was perfectly fine. I’ve seen the same stuff from pro overwatch coaches coaching metal ranks and similar coaching to how coaches are in jiujitsu. You don’t advance until you drill the basics as much as possible and get rid of bad habits and help them understand their bad habits. It’s crazy people just assume shit.
To many damn sensitive people. As a former military, this method 100% works. This is exactly what the military does, and many more competitive training works. It happens to break habits very quickly. Secondly, he signed up for this. When I get 200 dollars, I will be paying for his coaching. If you're offended for someone else, I say go touch grass, you're just white knighting for someone that doesn't want it. If you're saying I would never, and you will never play at a high level either. But when you're ready to, you will learn to put your ego to the side, and you will learn what it is like to be better.
I think weekend should have the guy speak out loud his thoughts because his mental processing in the decision-making is bad and on top of that he's not understanding the tips as they're being given so it seems as though he is not listening because it's taking him too long to compute
Honestly i think the reason hes so "slow" is because he might have delay from inter when you say something it prob doesnt get to hin till like 2 seconds after
This is so hard to watch lol. On the one hand weaken is extremely blunt and that can be triggering for some softer people but on the other if he just lets the guy make bad decisions is he really going to change anything

You can't change a person and he have issues on that level. No thought-process, zero logic, unable to comprehend beyond a simple basic reaction... There is no way you can make him go above gold, and even that is achievable by you telling him every step every action like a mindless proxy every game. If you make him above gold you use viewers to boost, otherwise it is just impossible.
It's not about being better? He's getting coached to become better. So even if you're *way* better which i doubt you are, you are clearly missing the point of this series.
Just an observation/ unsolicited opinion, the guy you are coaching doesnt seem to have "game sense" and or is comfortable w/ smite in general. Personally wouldnt suggest him playing comp.
