I initially came here expecting only an explanation of 'Billions' episode but ended up receiving valuable real-life advice. So, thank you very much, sir!
7:59 that’s obviously good advice in general - but many of the best simple hedge funds have 10% max position size. I feel like often a manager where top 10 holdings are 50%+ have more security in really knowing and believing in those vs. coming up with a bunch of extra ideas just for the sake of diversification. Ultimately just depends on your risk profile too. Like if you have minimal liquidity needs and a super long horizon (and your LPs aren’t naggy) - nothing wrong with some big positions.
As someone looking to get into the hedge fund industry, I really appreciate your videos. I'm on season 5 but your videos made me realize how much information I missed.
Great video, Chris! I especially enjoyed your 'give a darn/age' chart and the Steve Jobs video. Thanks for all you do and looking forward to the next one!
11:40 That's good advice. What if your boss interprets "Let's get a coffee" as a negative thing? Also, if you tell your boss ahead of time that this meeting will be about how you can improve further, then they can have time to think about it ahead of time, instead of just coming up with it on the spot. 18:55 I think I know what you're talking about 19:59 Thats good to remember
Thanks. They lost $6bn due to the SEC arrest of Dollar Bill and the 9/11 PR. In episode 12 (which I will publish next Friday) Axe tries to raise capital and mentions that AUM are < $10bn.
Hey @Chris I know you from Udemy. Since you said 'if you want anything in life, ask for it' 1) Can you explain how you edit these kind of video's? Did you already make a YT video about it? 2) Did you already make a video about how to be succesful on udemy? Cause if a platform gives so much coupons how can you still make money from it? 3) Can you please share if you mean that seriously with the dinosaur hands? You have a big nose indeed. I love your hair and the way you present. Where did you get that billboard from with the steve quote. You have a pile of props. Please stay safe and don't trip on them 😂🫣 Wish you and your family the best. Have a nice day 👌🏻
Just realized your 'most important chart you'll ever see' prop. You showed it so confidently eventhough it looked 'horrible'. It was like also teaching the point the prop doesn't matter as long as you can explain the concept clearly. The message would hit differently if it was 100% slick prop so more layers here 😆👌🏻🙏🏼
Many thanks Namai! I record and edit all my videos myself in my studio. I use Final Cut Pro. I teach how to succeed in business on my website - please see learn.harounventures.com . The dinosaur comment was a joke (my dad humor is brutal)! I made the poster using Adobe Illustrator and then had Kinkos print it. Thank you : )
@@chris.haroun Thank you so much. I saw a video about you helping a student of yours building schools in Africa. Hope it was win-win-win for all and worked out for you guys. I'm saving for your courses. Thank you for being amazing human being 🤗
17:42 I haven't read the Walter Isaacson biography of Elon Musk, but I have read the Ashley Vance version. I will have to look into Walter Isaacson's version, because he is a very meticulous writer who leaves no details out. Indeed, despite being an emerald mine baby, Musk had a tumultuous childhood, and I could clearly see how that would result in his insane risk-tasking.

Ok, this was more helpful than any self help youtube video I have ever watched. Setting the show aside, your message just hits hard. Thank you.
Many thanks! I love what I do and when one teaches, two learn.

I feel like options are a widely underutilized tool. This was a pretty deep episode.
So much value it's mind blowing
Many thanks Warren!
19:30-19:35 HELL YES! THANK YOU! ABSOLUTELY!
Thanks. It never ceases to amaze me that people get promoted for reasons other than the fact that they know how to manage people.

Thanks. If we ask for feedback more often from our boss, the probability of being let go decreases materially.
When the episode comes up, will you please explain the collar that Taylor puts on and explains to Maffei? Thank you
Will do. I will also explain 35 different options strategies. Thanks
@@chris.haroun thank you Chris. I enjoy your videos, and I appreciate your teaching.
Axe Cap is a $16 Billion AUM fund

It’s better than the Isaacson Steve Jobs book. You will love it!
"never sell options..." sounds like "never cross roads cause you might get hit". I'm going to give this episode a sell rating.
👍❤
“Never sell options”
Ummmm… that’s not a complete sentence
