  • You finish a piece and it looks AMAZING...until it doesn't. If you want scratch-free painted furniture, your slick surfaces will need a little extra help to grab onto your paint (or you'll get those dreaded scratches!). In this video I'll show you how I get scratch-proof painted finishes on even this slipperiest of manufacturer finishes!

    Beautiful! Thanks for another great informative video. I haven’t tried any of the Lilly moon paint yet but I have some waiting for the right project. Definitely going to order some of the bonding primer! Thanks again!

    Some great tips and reassurance on spraying. I’m a novice and have no idea what the finish should look like. I’m going to try the brown paper bag trick. Thanks Kimberly. P.S. I’m going to check the pressure tubes!!!!!

      Does the bonding primer prevent tannins from surfacing?

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Рік тому +1

      @@suesherman3587 no it is not a stainblocker - for adhesion only. You can layer primers if need be (I have)

    Does the bonding primer also block stains? What if your piece has a high gloss finish AND is a bleeder (mahogany). I have learned so many useful tips from your channel. Thank you!

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Рік тому

      No in that case you will need to use a stainblocker and a bonding primer - I have done both successfully - stain blocker first, then bonding primer!

      Thank you! That is exactly what I was thinking. It makes sense to do both. Thanks again!

    How do you tape the inside? I have tried with the same stuff you use and can’t seem to get it right 🫤

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Рік тому +1

      I run a line of tape on the inside of that cabinet and then attach my painters plastic to that!
