Oh man. Now I HD remaster or remake of this game even more. Heck, would be awesome if Studio Ghibli made a full motion picture of Jade Cocoon. The story was awesome, the art direction mesmerizing and the music simply magnificent.
My favourite video game of all time. So many memories playing this with my siblings and friends over lazy summer days, trying to figure out hidden treasures or combining critters into abominations for fun and profit. If there was one game I could wish to be remade or even expanded upon, this would be the one.
This makes me wish there were more games with a ghibli-style art direction. I know this game didn't have any direct involvement with the studio, but Katsuya Kondo was the character designer and art director. As far as i know the only other games with this style are the ni no kuni series, where the studio was directly involved in its art.

Started getting into this game a week ago. I think seeing older games like this with small niche communities still updating and making content for them strangley inspiring. Great revamp and your nuzlocke mod looked dope aswell. Keep up the good work

It's amazing the level of work that went into the intro for this game! Nice work on the enhancements too! Although I think today's obsession with frame-rate, especially in the context of traditional hand drawn animation like this, you end up loosing the more grounded feel of standard 24 frame per second (which is actually usually 12 fps when animating every other frame, or even 7 fps animating on 3's which is more common in anime for low movement moments). Not to disparage your work, it's so great to watch intros like this not in their super low res pixilated form!

PlayStation 2 had so many amazing games and PlayStation 1. In which this new generation will never get to experience. My generation got the best of video games and all that it had to offer.
This game needs an HD Remake. Lacking that someone needs to release a mod with these graphics at least for use on an emulator. If you had to have a disc image of your own it wouldn't be piracy.

It looks great, but 60fps doesn't suit the original framerate. It flattens out the original timing of the animation and ruins the animator's intention. In a film context, 60fps is not the answer. All that said I don't mean to put down your work, this is amazing!
Oh wow, I'm surprised at how clean this is, I expected to see some jank but there is none. Just slight motion stutter which I suppose is inherent to the original source, but it still seems smooth at the same time.
Why would you make this 60 FPS, every single movement looks like it was smothered in vaseline. the compression for the ps1 fmv's was cleaned up nicely at least.
This game is clearly superior to anything Pokémon. A deeper storyline, substance, character development and monster customizations. All of which that make Pokémon an overrated and abhorrent franchise. When was the last time you saw a monster customization in a similar game to this? Oh yeah! You have to reset your entire game. The main characters here also have more personality than than Red, Gold, Crystal, Team Rocket, etc. Nothing but cardboard cutouts under different sprites, clothing, etc.

I love the upscaling and quality but the 60 fps is a disservice to the animation sadly. It's as if there's some kind of odd ghosting going on.
