Oh, that’s sad to hear. I came on here to find out more about him after retuning his hoarders episode. So much tragedy in his life. He seemed a really good guy.
I saw Crowbar live, 1973,Kimberly BC I was 13 ,very dynamic, singing was terrific! Also seen King Biscuit boy ,1971 in Cranbrook BC,I was 11 , it was my 1st concert, very memorable.
My old friend Kelly Jay (Blake Fordham) is booked in rock and roll heaven. When he was here, he was a fur-clad piano god. Watching him bounce a grand piano across the stage on his knees while playing boogie-woogie or holding Roly Greenway out over the audience will flash before my eyes when the end comes!
A sad day... thanks for letting us know!!! Crowbar was the first band I ever remember seeing, and I loved the show! They were at Etobicoke Collegiate in Toronto. I was in grade 8 and my friend in grade 9 at ECI suggested we go and was I ever glad!!! Fantastic show - the boys getting all crazy, ripping guitar solos, Leslie horns spinning... that's the way I remember it, anyway! Thanks, Phil
Was at the "Larger Than Life" concert at Massey Hall In Toronto. I remember signing a name card when we arrived to our seats and the names of all fans in audience were on the album cover. Unforgettable concert with many of Crowbars friends (Tower of Power, Lighthouse, etc.), . Rest in peace Kelly!!!
Wishing all the family and friends an easy time of healing. Sending love to everyone who lost a great man today. He will be deeply missed. R.I.P Kelly!!!
saw Crowbar live at Maple Leafs Gardens in Toronto as the opening act for Sly and the Family Stone. fantastic concert. my ears rang for days. I'm also very fortunate to have Ray Harrison of Crowbar as a lifetime friend through his work with my brother "Millsy" and Greaseball Boogie Band and The Cameo Blues Band. another rock legend gone. Rest in Peace Kelly
I used to go to all Crowbar concerts when they came to Thunder Bay, it was one big party! So much fun! Great music! Great memories! My condolences to his family.
Kelly Jay rest in peace... it was a much different time to be alive back in the seventies... and melody was king. I love those old tunes and Oh What a Feeling is right up there.. Cheers
In the early 70s Crowbar rented an old farm house on Mohawk road in Ancaster and used the barn to rehearse. They needed someone to cut the grass so that became my Saturday job. I used to hear them practicing in the barn over the sound of my 2 stroke mower. I think I got $5 for about 4 hours of mowing which was pretty good coin back then. For years I told people that I was "in charge of the grass at Bad Manors":)
Just before Christmas, December 2020 we also lost Roland (Rolly) Greenway who played Bass for Crowbar and who co-wrote 'Oh What A Feeling' with Kelly Jay. He passed away from cancer, age 78. He was living in Ontario, Canada :(
😭 I grow up around Roly 😭 him and my dad founded a band called biscuit puppies...Roly would come over all the time to come jam out with my dad...sadly my dad passed in 2018...hope they are all together again jamming it out like the good old days
Crowbar always had fun playing in concert and you could even hear the fun in their songs. Kelly was a big man who scared me when I first saw him in Calgary but he knew how to have playing those keyboards, singing and prancing around the stage at times
We just watched that hoarding programme in England in October ‘21 . Looked up Crowbar to first find a Grindcore band ! - then found Kelly and the guys doing their stuff. He seemed like a big hearted bear of a bloke. My dad played keyboards too .
My uncle played lead guitar for Crowbar, Ray Lanthier , he is still alive and living in Mason Quebec, he does a lot of fishing and a lot of weed i suspect ,lol good for him.
Is your uncle well? I used to work with him at xentel and lived in the same building as him before he moved away from Hamilton. He treated me like a daughter ❤ tell him hello from Loretta.
Al Archer I saw Crowbar at The Gardens New Years eve 73-74 i believe it was. The crowd went nuts as Kelly ( once again-I do believe) rode a Harley unto the stage and they started playing,GOOD TIMES!!!!!

This is his daughter shawna. The hoarding started waaay before my mom died. But he needed help
not the real Crowbar.. good, im not ready
Too bad the kids are all selling a way all his memorabilia for drugs and letting drug addicts destroy his house
How do you know that
Tell me he didn’t look just like Anthony Hopkins as Odin!!!
