Batman is always serious, however, he is still caring and kind.
He lost everyone in his life, his parents, Alfred, his friends, and his sons.
Some of his friends became evil who followed Superman (two-three who regretted joining), and one son, who he disowned for killing his first adopted son and for joining Superman.
Luckily, he has few friends are still alive and one son left (the one who needs come back into his life and be a family again).

I've often wondered: if Peter Parker met Bruce Wayne, would they bond over both of them being orphans who became superheroes or would Peter think that Bruce needs to lighten up?
Batman gets along pretty well with the Flash, so they probably would. Also Peter would likely remind him of Dick.

Is Batman being saracstic, blind, or the dev just didn't realise that?
I think with most of the characters, a lot of dialogue was recycled, and repositioned for different dialogue exchanges. Then, characters that are more connected also have specific dialogue exchanges.
Edit: It'd be a lot of work, though not impossible, to have each character have personalized dialogue for every other character.
