India is a most wonderful Country and on both journeys I have undertaken, I have loved every minute of each adventure. But for her to embrace some worm-ridden form of western Democracy, is akin to dancing with the devil. India has its own unique path and is blessed with every ingredient for success. Were not the British drooling over her inherent natural beauty, wealth and resources for over 300 years? They new it and Indians should know it also. (but I suspect many do already and are doing very nicely for themselves) But the main impediment I see on this pathway to wealth for all, is to deny the same opportunity for wealth to the many. Sure, the Bunia class and on up the chain to Brahminism, will no doubt do well and are; but you can't have upwards of 100 millions of people held down in servitude and farmed like cattle, disrespected and with little hope of enabling themselves or their loved ones to greater things. Religeon and Caste are both tools of prejudice and control; and with a 'spine' commonly shared with most insurance companies. For India to grow and mature, something akin to the Chinese model is worthy of merit. And yes, the Chinese are greedy and hard working, but not hampered by old socially engineered structures that should be put in a museum for future generations to reflect on. Time for 'ek piali chai' ))
The conversation is really sorry about loss of communism around the world, including India. Why don’t they take up the gauntlet and raise another movement....
Does anyone know what Roy said at about 28:59: She's talking about Universities in India and then makes some passing reference to some unimportant matter; Ali, however, is astonished, thunderstruck and/or horrified at this piece of info, and impulsively jumps out of his chair. Thanks for any help!
If you don't at least criticise or raise the issue then how in the world are you going to provide solutions? One must at first address the problem in order to work out the solution.
I'm not against criticizing system or peoples, but lacking honesty in opinions or criticisms, does help to other problems but not to solutions. I'm against lies she is propagating.

She said that in some universities they are starting to call the students clients.
It's about privatizing education so that universities turn into patrons and students into clients.
