  • It is true that there is a lot of talk about hotel management and hospitality, but little about the importance of accurate tidying of hotel rooms and how to look after them. Hospitality and cleanliness are factors that often appear in the top 5 of the main criteria for choosing tourist accommodation. When it comes to hotels, these factors gain even more weight. The Hotel Management and Accommodation course of the Schools of Hospitality and Tourism of Turismo de Portugal prepares professionals for the functions of Reception and Housekeeping that are fundamental to guarantee the satisfaction of tourists regarding the reception in the hotel units and the service of rooms and accommodation. It is in the details that the difference is made. These professionals are trained so that in a thorough behind-the-scenes work they are decisive in valuing and retaining customers. It is in the Algarve that Fátima Lopes will get to know this "behind the scenes" of the tourist activity in hotels. Just like in a music concert or a movie, the audience vibrates with the band on stage and the actors on screen, unaware, however, that behind these experiences full of emotion, there is a whole team that with a lot of technique and science takes care of all the details and is tireless so that nothing fails. This is also the case on the hotel stage. The protagonists of our show are in the corridors, in the laundry rooms, on the floors of the rooms and at the reception. It is stories like the one of Paula Henriques, general housekeeper at the Grande Real Santa Eulália in Albufeira, who is also a teacher today, that inspire us to show that the real stars are behind the curtain! It is at the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School that we follow the demonstration of a practical Housekeeping class, where Fátima Lopes also participates. This is a very peculiar school, because it is housed in the former Convent of São Francisco, in Faro, and runs an Application Hotel with 14 rooms. A school attentive to new trends that has been making an evolution and adaptation of the training offer in one of the most touristic regions of the country. Paula Vicente, director of the school, explains how they work on specialization in such critical functions to ensure the excellence of the sector and Cidália Sebastião, trainer in reception in the course of Hotel Management and Accommodation, challenges Fátima Lopes to dress up as a customer in a class on the function of the receptionist. Their goal is to put professionals of excellence on the market, capable of doing everything from the bottom to the top.

    Ha erros basicos como carregar lencois sujos o dia inteiro ao inves de irem para a lavandaria e serem lavados. Limpam-se os quartos com turcos sujos, ao inves de panos e isso custa milhares de euros aos hoteis que ficam com toalhas velhas num instante. Era filmar os trabalhadores que dava um mana de informacao.
