That blow-off valve sounds way better than the factory one.
Thanks for the vid, seems like such a pain part to install but I’m still gonna try…interested in everyone else’s thoughts too.
It’s not the worst, there are harder things, but getting the factory inlet out of the way helps.
@@toocamcivic yea that seems the best route, thank ya!
I just put my oem one back on today. Heard some back fires the other morning from just going of the clutch from 1st to second, normal rpm shifting. No CEL or anything. Did notice a film of oil in the pipings needed to remove to get to the bov. Going to sit on it a while and carry on. Everything drove normal overall
Damn I just ordered it! And you make me rethinking about this. Was the backfire really loud? I thought exhaust backfires (means pops and bangs) are good things to hear like eargasms? Or you mean the backfires sounds like something broken?
600 miles so far no issues!!!!! No tune either!
Absolutely love mine! Puts the ST boys to shame
:)
That spring is a bit too stiff IMO, just get compressor surge. Sounds cool though.
How you gunna abuse the clutch like that
I got a forge dump valve and after going FBO the lid popped off with 2 o rings luckily I was pulling into my driveway when it blew out the spring and the black valve that's inside rebuild kit was like 40$ after shipping and tax
Edit: currently at 11,948 miles
**read before buying** I've had mine on for over 500 miles with no issues. It's extremely aggressive though, if it's a dual port then about 98% excess air is going to atmosphere. Sounds pretty rad at full clip, especially upshifting passing other cars but dang it's maybe just too much at low rpm driving. Pretty annoying sadly and I kinda like annoying stuff.. Highway driving or around town every throttle let off even at like sub-3k rpm is a super loud air dump. NONE of the review videos mention that so keep it in mind before buying. Good chance I'll pull mine at some point.
Good to know - We also have no CEL since the install date to now
Thanks for confirming this! I thought I noticed that in another short that I watched. That would bug the hell out of me too.
i know none of the comments watched the entire video because the ending would have triggered literally everyone. what is going on with that car LOL. is the clutch completely gone or is driver just slipping tf out of the clutch?
ridding it out - its gonna need a clutch. it just gets really hot and slips - put mostly with full intent
Did you guys install it as is I know turbosmart makes adjustable bov’s or did you guys adjust it
Have to agree with the comments. I’ve heard first hand and it’s annoying as hell. I’m running the OEM for that reason. I get enough flutter from my SXTH intake. Don’t need the overkill.
How do you like that intake?
Yea I’m leaving stock and going Sxythelement intake I’m so happy that intake is tune free
Any check engine lights??
Are the opinions on the need for a tune going to be in a separate video?
Yes - give it some time , no CEL so far, Seems some cars will have CEL even with intakes - and others never had an issue.
So I don’t think a tune is needed. However I am getting one next week when my ECUteck comes in. I’ll make a video if I notice any change.
However I’m one of the few that has never gotten a CEL from my MST intake and I’ve not gotten one from the BOV.
Those clips were enough to annoy me to never install that lol. What an awful sound.
I thing the Forge one sounds cooler
Why is everyone hating lol
It did not go right in lol
How long it takes you guys to install this? Does the box come with instruction to install?
