Bloo: "Suuuure, I did, Frakie." Mac: "You're... totally messing with us aren't you." This made me crack up so hard when I was a kid. Bloo is so clueless, but you'd swear he's just fucking with everyone. Great show.
Love how Bloo's mainly really self-centered and disrespectful, but then he has the cute innocent and clueless episodes like this that still make him at least a little more likeable and not 100% jerk.
This show might has well have been called Foster's Home For Word Definitions because this show taught me a lot of words as a kid. Sarcasm, ditching, Singapore, foster home.
I often hear people saying they dislike Bloo, come the hell on, it's Bloo!, not Eric Cartman! I mean, my opinion is probably not a popular one, but here it is, I LIKE Bloo. Throughout the show, Bloo struck me as someone who's unaware of the harm he causes, until others point it out. Is he self-centered?, sure, and it does get problematic, but imo, it just felt like Bloo was unaware of the problems he made, until people around him CLARIFIED those. They were mad, yeah, and they had a good reason. But again, COME ON!, that doesn't mean Bloo is unlikable! He still has his heart in the right place. Though if you're wondering, MY favorite character is Eduardo.
As a Latino who grew up in a very dysfunctional family and hated learning in school growing up and have autism and my mental disability was ignored, these cartoon shows helped me a lot of things like sarcasm better than actual teachers.
As to answer to those who don’t understand it, mostly Bloo, it is saying one thing, but mean nothing what you said. It is a phrase of wording that is hard to understand. Involves a bit of mind.
Everyone in the comments: "This show taught me sarcasm." Me: "But the episode ended with Mr Mr Herriman giving them jet car beds because he wasn't being sarcastic." 🤔
I don't know, I think they messed up a bit on what sarcasm is. For example, Bloo successfully insulted Duchess with sarcasm. I actually don't know if she understood his sarcasm or not. The Edwardo thing doesn't make sense, because why would a person say they hate cookies to get one from a person who doesn't want to share? That wouldn't work in general. Besides, Edwardo wasn't stingy in the first place anyway. Finally, making a point without sounding like a jerk, using sarcasm? But sarcasm totally defeats that purpose; its main purpose is to be a jerk. It's great that this episode helped Caston Awdzi understand sarcasm as a kid, and others too, but it certainly confused me a bit.
Duchess said "And you are a super genius". She was being sarcastic when Bloo explained that he was being sarcastic. About the cookies-hatred one. That is true. Maybe it works for people. But, I think it works if it is not hatred to you but being sarcastic to the person. Let's say you have 2 siblings, your mum gave 10 euros to each of them and then you say, "I understand why you haven't given me money, I mean, why would you give me money in the first place? Pfff"
I guess this doesn't count as sarcasm, but I might as well ask. A manager at my last job made me feel patr onized. One day, she was giving me a firm lecture on filter in the office. And yeah, I'm sure she was right in some ways--I do make mistakes--but she didn't put in room for respect and delicacy. This is one of those being-right-VS-being-kind situations, I feel. She didn't even tell me _what_ I said at work that was upsetting. I don't know if any bantering was misunderstood, or if I accidentally started a sensitive topic, or if I inadvertently made a thoughtless joke. It was all vague. And she said I could only talk about work and school. She even said to her fellow manager "Is there anything you want to add?" *_right in front of me._* Now here's where the possible sarcasm or patronzation occurs: the next day, she said "How are you?" You can't just get in someone's face and make them look fooIish, and then ask them how they are the _next_ day. *_Of course_* I wasn't doing well. Was she making fun of me or something?
Bloo: "Suuuure, I did, Frakie."

My dad didn't understand sarcasm so I showed him this video, great cartoon.
I love how Mac and Frankie make it their personal mission to do this.
I just realized that Bloo is basically the Chandler Bing of the imaginary friends.
"Could sarcasm BE any easier?"
I did learn that with Mrs. Kelsie.
Mac wasn’t just using sarcasm towards Eduardo. He also cleverly used reverse psychology.
And guilt tripping
I remember learning sarcasm when this episode first aired.
I've always wondered what this episode really meant until i grew up my first sarcasm experience was from this episode. Love this cartoon.

YEAH. They’re BOTH different things. Maybe the synonym for sarcasm is SINCERITY.
I actually know all about sarcasm already! it's been used alot in today's cartoons and even in real life! Thanks for uploading this!

I forgot what the name of the episode is, because all I know from it was sarcasm and Coco’s My Fair Lady trope
This show was my introduction to sarcasm when I was little.
Chandler bing sarcasm
Gotta love how Bloo, after fully understanding sarcasm, called out the scammer near the end, who thought merely lying and tricking people was sarcasm.
