Since the Shibuya Incident happened recently in the anime. I found out that there was an actual Shibuya Incident that happened in Japan. It happened in June of 1946. This was due to Japan recovering after World War 2 ended and Japan gave any territories that they controlled like Korea which would become North and South Korea later and black markets started to open throughout Japan, and various gangs tried to fight for control over it. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the Yakuza, and mobs formed from Taiwanese citizens who became former subjects of Japan after World War 2 were involved in this incident. One of the reasons for the fighting was a lot of people from former territories like parts of China, Korea, and Taiwan decided to emigrate to Japan but the Japanese government viewed them as foreigners even though they still had their Japanese citizenship. There was very little work for them and the Japanese people at the time that turned to the black markets and other underworld activities. And some racial hostilities were another reason. Surprisingly, there were few casualtie during this incident, one policeman and seven dead from the Yakuza or the mobs. The rest were arrested, injured. The Chinese government got involved and defended the Taiwanese citizens.
