Warrior = Zest (Setro in the English translation)
Thief = Sauber (Zauver in the English translation)
White mage = Floe (Flora in the English translation)
Black mage = Daewoo (Teol in the English translation)
Red mage = Puffy (manga was never translated)
Monk = Fritz (manga was never translated)
Wait, six? On one hand there should be only four since there were four crystals, on the other there should be twenty-four since if we're including possible combinations then it is also possible for parties to consist of up to four of the same class.

@@WanderingNerd21 The manga was just called Final Fantasy and the warrior wasn't there sadly. Instead, the main character was the red mage.
In the Novels his name is stated to be Zest (the thief, white mage and black mage have names too, Sauber is the thief, Floe the white mage and Daewoo the black mage).
Which is why I always address Zest to him whenever I do use a name for him.
playmo98 WoL isn’t from the first game. He’s a manikin just like chaos and cosmos. Prishe found him and brought him to cosmos and from there he was apart of her army. WoL is from world A but only because it is where cid and chaos were from in the beginning of it all. Which does take place in the world of the first game, but isn’t apart of the main plot of story of the first game. The only character who had anything to do with both games is garland, who named chaos.
Actually his name is Cid. He's the manikin created by the REAL Cid.

At the end he starts walking down the hill, crystal in hand. To begin ff1.. zest is one of multiple default names.. amus is another one. The one I prefer.

In the end of FF I, all according to the epilogue, when Chaos is defeated and the crystals regain their light, the world becomes as it would have had the crystals never lost their light in the first place - our world. In our world the one who was the warrior of light is you - the player.

Ah, the "Perfect Manikin". With an appearance and personality based on Cid of the Lufaine.
He doesn't have a name of his own. He is based on Cid, but that doesn't necessarily mean "Cid" is _his_ name. (The final secret cinematic says otherwise, depending on how you read the lip-movement)
Personally, I like to call him *Lucifer*. Not at all because of the real-world religious significance of such a name.

He's not lucifer. Chaos represents Lucifer cause chaos is the first creation being corrupted by hatred,jealousy,greed,sadness,etc and different kind of negative fellings from different kind of memories. Warrior of light seems like he represents us humans if prishe didn't find him he certainly sided to evil.
In garland is also chaos. Garland became a prideful knight just like to Lucifer. also chaos is the first perfect creation wol is just a perfect manikin unlike to chaos.

Partially right! This manikin was made sentient by a transfer of Cid's memories and personality, the same way Cosmos is a manikin given life by Cid's wife's memories and personality.
I think when Wol said that someone called name once at the end of the 12th cycle cosmos called Wol by his name but didn't get to hear it

J G Quite the opposite. The end of FF1 is the beginning of Dissidia. The character Cid from FF1 is the creator of the manikins in World A (the world of FF1), Chaos being the first perfect manikin with own will. From there they created Cosmos, and they’re all sent to World B (world of Dissidia). That’s when they make an agreement with Garland and Shinryuu to create cycles of battles summoning pawns to produce enough energy to return to World A. That’s when Cid created Warrior of Light then and to prove if he has the will necessary he sends him to Cosmos and he’s accepted as one of the warriors of the cycles. WoL is a manikin created from scratch in World B, that’s why he’s not Zest. It’s even rumored that he has the appearance of Cid and even his name since he created him inserting him his own memories.

In this final fantasy novel in the ff wiki the warrior's name is Zest. Maybe that's warrior of light's name. Zest.
In the ancient stories of wars like this, there was always a Warrior Of Light, and though it's been told in over 80 different languages, the most accurate translation of said Warrior Of Light's name is Jasper. Of course, the retelling that Square Soft did, leaves out the life of this warrior. He was already well settled, with a wife and family, before being sent into countless, senseless wars, much like this one. The many stories also claim various lifestyles. Smith, Jeweler, to name a couple.
Wrong. Look at the final cinematic again. Cosmos' mouth moves, to say "Cid". (and yes, they mouthsynced the game's CGs twice for english and japanese) Knowing what the Warrior was,was why she was so hesitant about accepting him as a warrior of harmony initially.

they just translates it to Setro cause they thought people would laugh at the name Zest since it sounds like lemon zest but the japanese version is “Zesuto” which translates to Zest, so its Zest

The people think that Dissidia is Canon, oh please...of course is a clear reference of the first game, is how if you are the warrior, who you play in the first game, it's a really good reference.

Once again nope. Cid is the narrator (whom you later find out is the moogle in confessions of the creator) who also created a perfect manikin who was taken to cosmos and transformed him to the warrior of light (because she sensed he had no strong will or resolve)

Actually Cid is brother of zest aka warrior of light which some people know about, I think they got separated in some kind of tragic situation which let them both got there memorys erased but only 0.1 people knows who they actually are
With all the Final Fantasy games I played, I've never get to see or play this guy! When was his first apparence? When do you play as him?
He's the Warrior/Fighter in FF1. And both the costume and the naming "Warrior of Light" are the new design he got for Dissidia.
One of WoL's alternate costume is his original FF1 look :)

I had a theory that before dissidia, Luneth and Ingus got their bodies switched since Onion Knight was close to the appearances of Ingus and had the personality of Luneth. ( Luneth is a rascal adventurer while Ingus was was a complete gentleman according to wiki) So technically Luneth was taken to the call of cosmos but in the body of Ingus.
