- In this video, I share with you how my art studio came to be. I walk you through from the start when we bought the house, how it just started as a guest room, turned into airbnb, a yoga studio and then finally my art studio. Alas I am moving so this video is a love letter, a dedication, a tribute to this beautiful inspiring space.

Great space! I have an indoor studio and would like an outdoor space. However you make a good point about it not being convenient in the cold!
Unless you're in a warm climate most of the year! ( but not too hot !)

I'm glad you shared this. Yes, you were blessed to have such a space to convert to your studio, but the reason why it turned out so beautiful is because you and your family worked so hard to make it look like this. The white walls, the pictures on the walls, the choice of furniture, that's all you and that's what made the space look so cozy. It's inspiring. ❤

Aw thanks Lorraine!!! I never thought about it that way - as in, transforming this space multiple times reflecting some kind of creative urge to reinvent. I always just saw it as... "lets not waste this space!" mentality. Yes thanks for visiting my studio last November! It was a pleasure to meet you! I hope to do Open Studios again this year in my new space, but we will see how it goes.... ? !
What a lovely art space you have. I have no doubt that you will make your new space just as lovely. I can't wait to see how you create your new space. My daughter and I are currently taking up a large chunk of our open plan dining room as our art and sewing space. I like that we have lots of windows for light but it makes it difficult to hang our art or have tall bookcases with only short patches of walls available in that space. My son has a computer/digital art space in a corner of our lounge and my hubby has a similar space, in the sunroom off the lounge, where he works on his woodworking plans. So we can all see and talk to each other while we work on our hobbies. I guess we don't occupy our open plan lounge/kitchen/dining space in a 'normal' way but 3 of us are autistic and it just makes sense for us as our hobbies overlap somewhat and we can be together while doing our own thing.
I love that. Just pictured it in my head and what a beautiful way to cohesively live together and create together. Yeah who says a living/dining room needs to be a certain way?! We all can invent new ways of being. :)
No matter where you are are still who you are…space can help to define you for a time…My philosophy is at its base for anything I do is, if I have ___, I will do it,” For art, it’s if I have a stick, I will draw. For gardening, it’s if I had a spoon, I will grow. Life can get a little complicated at times and it helps to pair it down to the basics to keep one’s perspective. Thanks for sharing Crystal 😊

It was really a treat. But the main house was getting too small for us. so thats why we are moving. I can't be the only one in the house with the nicest room!
Your art is so so amazing, you must must continue to have a creative space. The zen from it all surely transfers to your family. Time flies so quickly, before you know it, the kids are grown and you’ll have more time to paint too. Cheers to lovely new memories at your new abode!

I love this video! Your studio is so amazing and I love peeking at your paintings on the wall. I wish I had an art studio but for now I have my stuff in my bedroom bec my basement is kind of dark
As long as we have a 'space' for our art/creativity. Even a little desk in your bedroom is great! I didn't even have my own desk till I was 40!
