I think I would really like to live in a community like this. I am all alone and I have had such difficulty connecting to people in this city. I am truly tried of trying
I live in the uk and it's ashame they do not do affordable coach holidays for those of us who have no public transport and can't afford to spend a fortune I'd think it would be a cool holiday and with God-fearing folk
I need this.. I really truly and honestly do. I don’t own much as it is, I never have cared to, just a good heater, a good wood stove, one good .410 for small game hunting, couple Union suits some overalls flannels and a sleeping bag. One wanted out of society forever.. my birthday was three days ago.... I had every intention of suicide..... but I couldn’t, I have absolutely nobody but my mother to talk to about what’s going on in my head and I just can’t deal with it all anymore.. I need out. I don’t have much to give but I would give anything to join.
PLEASE. Help me find out more on how to transition into a genuine christian community! I am in upstate NY but am willing to move anywhere there are genuine believers living in harmony and in the Word! I did not know places like this existed! Father bless!! Thank you so much for reading this♡ anyone who knows where i could learn more please feel free to help guide me.
Hi friend! When I worked at the Bowery in NYC, the bruderhofs would volunteer, they are an amazing community! You can reach out to the bruderhofs in NYC, they have an Instagram and website account.
I left fundamentalism years ago but am so entranced by you guys. My Dad who was born in 1910 had me when he was 66 and he was raised a Holdeman Mennonite. I was raised by my Mom as a Jehovahs Witness
Considering Cohousing on FB. Not your standard information but an essential read for anyone considering joining or already a member. This looks behind the usual claims about cohousing, based on detailed research and years of personal experience. Questions you should ask, and analysis of patterns across many communities. Regular updates. Check it out.
I have watched your videos Laura, read books sent to me. It makes sense to me. The philosophy the sermon on the Mount principles. Laura your grounded intelligence. As soon as Covid19 allows I will visit. I don't make rash decisions only wise ones but this calls to me. Telephone conversations with Ruthie in Kent. I can't wait to visit.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It has been a pleasure to watch and learn. However, there are a few concerns and questions, if I may. 1) We are social beings and although some time away in solitude is good, long term isolation takes a tole on our mental health. 2) We don't always have to run away from problems, but taking a step back and finding solutions may be a better alternative. With those two things said, I have a possible solution: start small, non-profit, eco-friendly, sustainable, off-grid, permaculture farming villages surrounding each city. Here are a few great examples: 1) ua-cam.com/video/iCGXVk-cBVk/v-deo.html 2) ua-cam.com/video/gfCcI6_1iiA/v-deo.html 3) ua-cam.com/video/fWYcsfnHfIU/v-deo.html The village's mission and primary objective is to provide for the poor and vulnerable within the city with food, jobs and environmental education thereby, reducing crime. The villages will offer temporary (no more than one year) housing and work for the homeless and food security for the city. The first step in this project would be to organize a few people interested in it. Then present the plan to the city for approval. There is a lot of govt funding and support for projects like this. I have additional ideas on how to get started and operate the farms, if you are interested. Now is the time to get started before the commercial farms use up all the water again
I am curious: What is the theology of this community. It seems there are connections to the Anabatpist tradition of the Amish and Mennonites, but since this is a newer community I am very curious of the theology and your tradition of worship.
Hi Darren. Thanks for asking! We are non-denominational and have our own chapels. Often though, we'll visit churches in the locality and participate in their services as well.
I'm just wondering about those for whom social justice includes not hurting animals. I am a vegetarian because of my compassion for other species as well as human. Are there any vegetarians or vegans in the community? Is the diet and the source of the food taking into account compassion?
Yes for it is written "come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord and i will be your God and you will be my people" Or Revelation thats says "I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven..." Serious.A war for the Soul. Repent.Cry.Travail. Stay Focused " for when thine eye is single thy whole body full of light" Staying fixed.Your heart your mind. my heart is fixed David wrote.Meditate on the scriptures.Escape to Gods presence! Glory!!
Great vídeo. Living in community is definitely the best way to live as Christians. I have been living in community the last 20 years and would not trade it for anything less.
I don’t think they’re anti-technology. They have modern factories where they assemble their furniture. As far as I know they just don’t let their kids become zombies with phones, video games, and TV like we do.
This is how humans have lived for most of our history, it’s today’s world that I struggle to live in. Can’t wait to visit bruderhof
Awesome! Thanks for commenting.

This is convincing to me! But why is it extremely risky and dangerous?

First Christian love in your heart, must have to survive in this community!

Getting beyond theory with intentional community tech. That's what I like. Thanks for the insights Laura!
I'm curious to know why you make reference to risk and danger. I can understand risk to a certain degree, but what causes the danger.
(Zwei Aussagen haben mich berührt.
)
Two points are important for me.
- be the change
- put prayer in action

Maybe do a video for those who do not live in community but would like to live similar

Wonderful! All the best
I've lived in community at a Catholic Worker. I encourage others to read the life of Dorothy Day. She never wanted to be called a saint.

@@LaurafromtheBruderhof Thank you very much for your reply
What do you do if you need to have some space and time to yourself?
I love this! Especially #2
Are communities such as yours denominational? Do you have a chapel in your community or do you attend churches in the local towns?
Hi Darren. Thanks for asking! We are non-denominational and have our own chapels. Often though, we'll visit churches in the locality and participate in their services as well.

Laura, your way of living is respected however no one SHOULD to confirm to your opinion. Please respect other people chooses
For a group of people who don't believe in using technology, they sure do have a lot of UA-cam videos. Hypocrisy at it's best.
I don’t think they’re anti-technology. They have modern factories where they assemble their furniture. As far as I know they just don’t let their kids become zombies with phones, video games, and TV like we do.
So the community has to pick u to live there?
Community free of liberals such a great idea !
TheWesternArmenia hahahaha yes!!
